A Midsummer Vampire Dream

                                      Prologue

It was in midsummer. She was in a villa and it is completely empty that day. She was alone in that villa - only the silence to give her company. She got up, took a bath and sat at her desk with 'Eclipse' in her hand. She is totally involed in it, that she didn't notice the creak in the corridor. The summer breeze blew through the pink curtains into her room brushed her cheeks and dissolved. Her tender fingers turned the next page and her fingers moved near her ears to adjust her hair. The bedroom door opened, so silently that she wouldn't have noticed it even if she is standing near it. The tall figure strolled in exuding a brightness from itself. She shifted in her chair and the pen fell from the desk. She bent down to catch it but what she saw- A white pale hand is holding her pen. The contrast between the colour of that skin and her pen is much more significant. She looked up and first noticed the black shoes of the person and the dark shirt of that person. She faced his face and her eyes scanned the perfect curves of the chin and the angles of the jaw. The cheeks are so pale. The hair waved in the breeze and the bronze colour is so perfectly flagged with the face. She saved the eyes for the last- his eyes were gleaming in golden colour and his lips were curved the way she loved.

" Hai, Did you miss me?" he said in a honey sweet voice and took her waist by his hand and smiled again in that divine way.She was speelbound for a minute and said nothing. He laughed at her and said "Breathe,honey". She breathed. " I didn't hear you come, Yes, I've missed you." she said and moved closer to him and was inches within his lips when they heard a howl.She woke up. Of course that is still her best dream. It is nice to have a midsummer dream... 

                                  Chapter 1

       The other day she was with her friends at the beach. The sea was calm which was really unusual. But her thoughts were in a far of land in her dreams whee she had once met the angel(ofcourse we knew it wasn't a dream). Kayle and Mac are surfing. She was left behind not because she's not good at it but she loved playing the waves better.  And now a large wave waves along with the breeze and seeks to come to the shore. She is watching it as if she is in a trance hypnotized by the movement of waves. The sound of it runs in parallel with her heartbeat and at the same time she can hear soft paddling of running paws, almost in a rhythm with the waves and her heart, right leg a pause left leg right leg a pause, left - right a pause and again but the sound is coming closer, her eyes twitch lightly at this and then a rapid breathing -not out of exhaustion but of running fast for a long time. Of course how could we not guess it? But she's curious and without clue. The running pace slows down into soft pads. And at that moment the waves splash against her feet breaking the rhythm of her heart. Now she's a little afraid as the waves recede away. Her skirt and hair flies to her left as a warm, slow breath brushes against her. She had been so cold until then but now she slowly turned to her right and saw a brown, furry, large dog. Now that she looked into his large, black, understanding eyes she's not afraid. Something of the dog says, ' he can talk and hear and think'. Then the corners of her lips twitch lightly that if I or you had been there we'd never say she smiled. But he knew that she did and could still hear her rapid heart that thummers to be let out. Her eyes seemed fixed into his. He doesn't know whether she can't look away or she doesn't want to look away. The scene might've been a scary movie if a girl standing in a beach had a great wolf-like dog at her side and all her friends screaming. But it's never a scary movie but a memorable, unforgettable, want-to-be lasted moment. It's not any other girl but the only great wolf-like dog and obviously the beach is deserted. Her hands slowly raises up and moves towards him. He didn't move and stood very still that he'd have passed for a statue if not for the rapid breathing. Her fingers slowly closed around his cheeks and took hold an arm full of fur and kept it there. Then she laughed not knowing what to say. Then she moved still closer and kissed his large nose and said " Welcome back, where have you been all this time?" The dog's mouth spread into a wolfy grin - it would've been baring the teeth if any other dog had done that. Then he nodded his head as if asking how she was, she said "I'm good and I've missed you all" and at the word missed she hugged the dog tightly.

The dog broke away from her and ran away into the forest. "Don't go! Please stay." She cried. But he just kept running into the forest and with a impulse she turned her back and saw there ……..

A gang of wolves! That was what she saw and only stopped to stare at them for a minute before lounging herself forward. "Boys! How've you all been?..how was the haul? You shouldn't have taken too long, and you know how frustating I get when I'm alone without him. The wolves just grinned stupidly when three of them suddenly took of

"What the - " she was about to say but recognised the wolves and smiled.

 It was Quil, Paul and Jared. They were of to see their beloved. Then she saw that Sam was still there and questioned him non-verbaly. He nodded knowing what she meant and set of at once seeing that everyone was safe.

 Seth came over and licked the side of her face "Aw, Seth," she said but didn't push him away.

 She had been terrible enough for the past weeks without them. Then came the big russet wolf from the woods in his human form and grinning all over. She ran half the distance and reached him mid-way and hugged him. He was only too happy and encirled his great arms around her.

 "Come let's try something new today" he said and took her hand with enormous enthusiasm. She smiled wide and said " We should meet mama and papa first and tell the good news , so how about making a run for it? I bet you'll never beat me"

She laughed and broke into a run and yelled behind her back "Come on, I've inherited my father's talents in this. Wow! I love the speed" He was definitely thrilled that she was so happy and followed her never thinking of racing.

At last they were by the riverbank and she slowed her pace and walked hand in hand with him. The place has not changed much since the last fight. It was all very well since then except that a new vampire haunts her dreams and she don't know whether he's real or not. She had deliberately avoided thinking about it when father was around not that she feared he would be upset but she somehow felt that it was too private to be shared even to her father.  Her mother had only been too happy since the last fight and enjoyed every moment and her father loved to watch her every single moment. Her grandpa dropped by once a week and was always surprised to see her grow so much and astonishly once granny too was to come to forks and that was a hysteric situation for her mother. Her eyes were all gold by then so she needn't wear contacts as she had earlier but meeting Rene`e. "What would happen to her if she saw me like this? Should we make a run for it? Should we take everybody along and never return? Of all my bad luck Phil is not coming. So what would Renee do?" this is how she had been panicking. Aunt Alice was cool and kept saying "Renne doesn't plan to meet you Bella, calm down" and uncle Emmett chided her about for this. Even Father had been impatient about this and said "If you really think this is gonna give Renee the fright of her life why do you want Nessie to be here with Jake?" Somehow Mom was stubborn about that. She wanted her with Jacob here and she urges that Nessie should meet Renee. Carlisle and Esme too tried their best to calm Mom down but no, she's hysterical. So atlast it had been uncle Jasper who calmed her down for two whole days and then Aunt Alice exclaimed aloud "Renee changed her plans. She is not coming but she's decided to ask Bella for Photos" And then everything was back to normal except for Nessie.

Then they reached the house and Renesmee entered the room and said "Hey everyone, Jake is back and so are all others. I've not known about Kayle and Mac. They were with me in the beach but suddenly they seem to have disappeared" she frowned slightly at that.

It was Edward who answered first, "Chill Nessie. They came back here and said they couldn't find you at the dock and I assume you wandered near the woods to wait for the wolf-guys?"

"I'm sorry Dad. Where's Mom? She is not in the house." she said in a flat tone. Jake was just smiling at them all like a child given dozens of candies. He had not changed a single bit.

"Mom's with Nauhel. They are …er..hunting" Edward said staring at the floor.

That's  odd. Father never leaves mom even when she's just moving from room to room in the house and now she's hunting alone with Nauhel? Something is happening, ofcourse. Just then Alice spoke "You need some rest Jacob, after all those fighting. First eat something. Here," she handed out a tray of eggs and bacons. Jake gladly took the tray and sat down at the table and started gobbling all the food. Then everyone scattered around and Uncle Emmett and Aunt Rosalie settled down infront of the T.V watching some sports game and Uncle Jasper walked into the backyard and said something about going to meet Jenks. As usual Aunt Alice started hanging around near Jake so that she's relieved of her headaches. But Renesmee had eyes only for her father who looked hard and composed that would mean only one thing, something is already happening. Would it be like last time? The union of vampires and werewolves? Last time it had been the volturi and now who could it be that too so soon.

"Dad, I want you to teach my fighting lessons until Jake completes his breakfast and get some sleep" Renesmee said looking at Jake now. He nodded with a mouthfull.
