Bella-Is she the hero of Saga?

I have no particular love for Bella or Twilight in general, but something that has been bouncing around in my mind is whether or not she is the hero, the savior of the Twilight world. I'm not really talking about whether she was a protaganist or antagonist. She was definitely the main character and good even though she did cause a lot of problems, she somehow did it without becoming a villian, but she didn't really seem to accomplish anything other than becoming a vampire. So, if she's not the hero and not the villian, what kind of character is she?

hello!!!! 

  for me shes unique persons, bella is a simple girl who wants to make friends a normal human being  but, lucky her she meets edward and so on and so fort... and one thing i really like about her she didn't pretend she knows her flaws and all....

Actually, the main idea was that Bella was not normal, that's why she was so drawn to other not normal things.

she's a damsel in distress, because she is always needing to be saved by Edward and Jacob, the real hero in the story. Bella is not the hero, not in my opinion. she's a damsel in twilight. she's a damsel in new moon and she's a damsel in eclipse. they try to make her courageous in breaking dawn, but i didn't really buy it. her true nature had already been strongly established and she's pretty cowardice. but i  guess you can say she was the last minute hero in breaking dawn. suddenly having a baby to take care of will do that to you.

Try to steal another boy's girlfriend, heroes usually do not do such stuff.

why do you go bashing jacob everytime you hit a dead end. bella is a damsel. kstew herself even thinks so. she said it. "Bella is a damsel in distress."- KStew

i think you need to go look up the word hero/heroine.

and heroes don't break up with their girlfriends and leave them in the woods when they know a crazy vampire named Victoria is after her. Edward is not that smart. so spare me the edward is better than jacob speech. if anything they are the same, just boys screwing up. and there's nothing wrong with that. nobody is perfect.
