Bella-Is she the hero of Saga?

I have no particular love for Bella or Twilight in general, but something that has been bouncing around in my mind is whether or not she is the hero, the savior of the Twilight world. I'm not really talking about whether she was a protaganist or antagonist. She was definitely the main character and good even though she did cause a lot of problems, she somehow did it without becoming a villian, but she didn't really seem to accomplish anything other than becoming a vampire. So, if she's not the hero and not the villian, what kind of character is she?

Using technical terms, the main character who drives the action is the 'protagonist,' or hero. However, protagonist means neither good, bad nor interesting.

That's the thing. She accomplished what SHE wanted. Becoming a Vampire. I see Bella as a heroine. One of the main points folks like to mention when discussing Twilight is "THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER" they grouse that Bella get's EVERYTHING. And she does.

Man? CHECK

Child? CHECK

Mom/Dad Happy? CHECK

Friend Happy? CHECK etc, ect.

How did she get all that? Like any heroine she went out and got it herself.

For  Me Bella, is the type of character who has gone through many struggles in the human and supernatural world just to be with man she loves and build a life with him, a life that she wanted and craved, because she felt more part of Edward's world than she did the real world, the human world. I would not call her an a Hero, maybe on a semi-hero? but in Breaking Dawn, she does seem to grow in her self as a person and as Vampire, as she adjusts to the life fast and she allows to defend her infant daughter with Edward, the wolves and the Cullens. I really would call her a great character in the book/film and she was always my fave character in the series, even if she moaned and groaned in New Moon mostly, after Edward left. But I am a fan of Bella and Kristen Stewart and think she did a good job portraying Bella like she did and in the books, Bella seems to be complex, people might just have to read between the lines and see she's not all the bad, or that she did achieve other things and not just being a Vampire
