But she can see Bella and Edward. And Bella and Edward's future is renesmee. She's connected with Jacob in a special way, so consequently she just has to see them. I guess it needs some thinking to get it striaght, though.

I think alices gift is flawed in many ways and books if you filter through i would bet you find many instances where alice should /would have seen what was about to happen. Take a look at pinkies thread on new moon there she asks about alice missing that james was a tracker before edward told her ect i see it more as mayers writing than alices gift lol

It was a matter of learning how to "look" for Renesme's future, once Alice got to know her as part of the family. There are references to this throughout the books, that Alice and Edward are more in tune to those they're closest to.

YEA I WAS THINKING THT BECAUSE ALICE SAID SHE CAN ONLY SEE HUMANS AND VAMPIRES .... My favorite part of the movie was when Alice showed Aro her vision of the battle and Aro was dumb founded afterward

I think alice seeing renesme and jacob, was good. They said the gifts can be adapted and changed, such as bellas force field, managing to protects others with it, maybe with renesme being half vampire alice has adapted her gift to protect her neice.? and with seeing renesme she has to see jacob. hopefully there will be amny more twilight books/films and will all found out the rest of this amazing story~!

Well, I noticed that PLUS, how it is that she can see Bella's Future at all when Bella is a Shield? My only curiosity from all the books and movies was how Alice could use her "Gift" on Bella but no one else could............

How come Alice and Jasper can affect Bella with their supernatural powers, but Edward and Aro and Jane can't?
This question comes up at every single signing! The answer is explained in Eclipse, but I'm going to tell you all anyway, just so there's less confusion.
Bella has a very private mind. She can't be touched there. What Edward and Aro do is clearly a mental thing; Jane, also, works inside the head (Jane doesn't actually inflict pain on anyone's body, she just puts the illusion of pain inside her victim's head. It's a very effective form of torture). Conversely, what Jasper does is no illusion. He affects the physical body, slowing the pulse and upping the endorphin levels to calm someone, for example, or raising the pulse and pumping out the adrenalin to excite them. Alice, also, works outside the mind in the realm of possible realities. She doesn't see the thought process behind the decisions, just the outcomes.
