Starry-eyed, vampire-loving romantics aren't the only ones jealous of Bella and Edward right now.

Summit Entertainment is primed to split the final Twilight Saga installment, Breaking Dawn, into two films: author Stephenie Meyer has signed off; Bill Condon's onboard to direct two; Robert Pattinson is ready to roll, as are Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

So what's the holdup on declaring Breaking Dawn a twofer?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it's some of the so-called secondary and lesser-paid stars of the series, particularly Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, who have not agreed to Summit's terms and are demanding more money for their pale-faced efforts.

A source told the trade that the offers the actors received for the proposed fifth film were "offensive" in comparison with how much dough the franchise has earned. Another insider says, meanwhile, that Summit might be willing to cut ties with at least one of them to "make a point."

Now, fans have already been forced to accept a midsaga cast change: Bryce Dallas Howard replaces Rachelle Lefevre as the murderous Victoria in the upcoming Eclipse.

But there might be a mutiny if the Cullen clan is replaced with newcomers!

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The studio behind the "Twilight" feature franchise is working furiously to close the talent deals required to split Stephenie Meyer's fourth novel in the vampire series into two films.

But an unlikely roadblock is holding up an announcement -- and could even lead to cast changes for the series' final installment.

Summit Entertainment is close to finalizing agreements with leads Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, all of whom will get big raises to return for a fifth installment of the vampire romance saga. And director Bill Condon is already signed to film two "Breaking Dawn" movies, which would be shot back-to-back starting in the fall and released in November 2011 and summer 2012, respectively.

But Summit is having a harder time locking in some of the franchise's secondary characters. Deals for Peter Facinelli (who plays Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Bella's father, Charlie Swan) are done, but sources say the actors who play the Cullen kids (especially Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene) are trying to sink their teeth into bigger paydays that the studio is so far unwilling to provide.

"We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point," says a source close to the dealmaking.

So are we headed for a recasting on the final "Twilight"?

There is precedent. After the success of the first film, Summit axed Rachelle Lefevre, who played Victoria, in part because her reps played hardball on money. (Bryce Dallas Howard got the job instead.) Now, two films into the series, even the minor Twilighters (Lutz in particular) have become sought-after stars, so it makes sense they'd want to be paid more for the final film. But sources say the offers from Summit -- which are said to be at least 10 times what the actors made on the first movie -- were deemed "offensive" given the mega-money the franchise has generated.

Summit declined to comment on the situation. But the studio wants to move quickly to pull the trigger on the two movies -- which it won't until the talent deals are further along -- and it isn't afraid to recast if agreements can't be reached.

Additionally, it has even more reason to be concerned about costs this time around. As is typical with blockbuster franchises, the "Twilight" movies are becoming more expensive with each installment.

The leads are going to do especially well if "Breaking Dawn" is split into two parts. The trio were initially signed for three films (remember, this was back when "Twilight" was a low-budget adaptation of a niche young-adult novel), but in the spring of 2009 -- after the first movie became an international hit -- they renegotiated all their deals so Summit could lock them for a fourth movie.

The studio then realized that "Breaking Dawn," with its 900-plus pages and narratives told from two perspectives, was dense enough to be split into two installments (as Warner Bros. announced it would do for the final "Harry Potter" book). Just one problem: The cast wasn't signed for a fifth movie. They're all huge stars now, with Lautner in particular running up his quote to the $7.5 million range, so another renegotiation commenced.

That meant ponying up big-time for the leads, which will make the final movie far more expensive than the others ("Eclipse," which hits theaters June 30, is costing around $65 million, a figure sure to be dwarfed by the fourth and fifth, even if costs can be amortized by shooting them at the same time). For that reason, Summit is still holding out the option of simply doing one "Breaking Dawn," although multiple sources say they'd be shocked if the fifth film doesn't happen.

Summit also is eyeing another cost-cutting measure for the final installments. A deal is currently being negotiated to move the production to Louisiana (the first was shot in Portland and the second two in Vancouver and Italy). Luring "Twilight" would be a huge "get" for the state -- and, given the tax credits, a money-saver for the studio.

Yes they have to sort it out!!! I can't imagine a better Emmett or Alice!!! They're just perfect for those parts!!! They can't replace them!!! They already replaced Victoria!!! Not them, too!!!

Nooooo. Who thinks the Cullens should be played by the same people -Peter F as Carlisle, Elizabeth R as Esme, Robert as Edward,Nikki as Rosealie,Jackson R as Jasper,Ashley Greene as Alice,Kellan Lutz as Emmett. In my opinion i think it should stay the same people. What do you guys think

I think Summit should pony up the dough. But I also think that if a cut is made....Lutz is the most expendable.

Sorry, but I must agree to disagree.....Any loss of the Cullens Clan would destroy the last movie.

I agree, they would cut Kellan before Ashley.

It seems that they are demanding $4 mil each for each of the last two movies. Summit had offered somewhere in the 750G to 1mil range. Originally Nikki and Jackson were also holding out, but Nikki has backed down and accepted the original offer or close to it.

Now my question is, isn't Alice gone for most of BD? (aside from the wedding, she's not around much during the pregnancy because she can't see anything due to Nessie, then she leaves and only comes back at the end with Nahuel--the rest of the time she's not even there, they think she and Jasper have abandoned the Cullens) And Ashley's demanding a total of $8 million dollars for that? Meanwhile Rosalie, Nikki's character, is an integral part of BD because of the pregnancy and her sparring with Jake and acting as Bella's protector. And Nikki's getting paid $2mil total to carry a large part of the story?!!

So if Rose is one of the most important Cullens in BD and Nikki's content to make 2mil for the two movies, are Ashley and Kellan being unrealistic in demanding 4 mil each (a total of 8 mil for the two films)? Especially since Taylor, one of the three main stars, is reportedly only demanding around $7.5 mil for playing Jacob, one of the most important characters in the saga!

I think Summit should offer them $1.25 million each and if they turn it down, replace them. No one is irreplaceable except Rob, Kristen, and Taylor, and maybe PFac and Billy Burke. Nobody would have ever even heard of Kellan and Ashley if it weren't for Twilight. Kellan definitely wouldn't have his bod plastered all over billboards in his undies if people didn't know who he was from Twilight. So the jumpstart to their careers should give them incentive to swallow their egos and sign. Especially if the fans matter to them. Don't get me wrong, I love them both, but they need to set aside their egos and be realistic.

You must not be a die hard fan then to purpose something as this. I not trying to challenge the fact that you love Twilight more then I do. But to say something like that..... I can see how you see it as she is not around in BD a lot but Alice is partly the reason they win at the end because every claim that was made was shot down with the arival of Nahuel.

Yes, asking more money then the lead roles, I can understand how that can be preceived. But do we really know what is going on that is making the two ask for that amount? No, we do not know what is going on that set or in their negotiations. So, for us to assume there is not a perfect reason they are asking for that amount is not cool at all. Maybe they were way underpaid the last two films?

I sorry I stand by my decision for BD.... They change the two actors and I will boycot BD as well as make a big deal over it. It will destroy the movie in my eyes to change those two characters last minute. I guess I trying to look at if from every point of veiw.

Sounds like Summit is being the greedy ones while they rake in the dough while the actors are the ones that really do the work. I understand the company does the effects, but those people taking the time out of their life to make a movie for us to enjoy.... Think of it that way!!
