'Breaking Dawn' 'Dog Bowl' Scene: In The Film Or A DVD Extra?

Nikki Reed tells 'Twilight' Tuesday about shooting the infamous scene with Taylor Lautner.

We're a little over a month away from the release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," and in order to keep myself from getting too excited for the final film's arrival, each week for "Twilight" Tuesday, I've been trying to figure out exactly which scenes from the book made the final cut and which scenes director Bill Condon had to leave on the cutting-room floor.

It's a tough task, because even though we have two films for Stephenie Meyer's fourth book, the movies would have to be extra-long in order to include everything we fans want. Personally, I'd like a full hour dedicated to Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and getting to know the new vampires better, but that's probably not going to happen.

However, thanks to a recent chat with star Nikki Reed, we have more evidence that the infamous "dog bowl" scene between Rosalie and Jacob is both faithful to the book and can still hold out hope that it is miraculously edited into the final cut vs. what we heard about it back in July at Comic-Con.

"We shot the dog bowl scene. In fact, we shot it enough times for my head to hurt, because I was smacked in the head with various items that I'm sure at some point will be CGI'd into dog bowls, and at one point it was a rubber dog bowl," recalled Reed, who has yet to see the final cut of the film. "Taylor [Lautner] is pretty strong; I needed that scene to end up in there. [But] I never know what's going to end up in there.

"But here's what I do know: Things that are not in the movie do end up on the DVD special features section, so that's good," she teased.

Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."

Giveaway #2

To help promote Douglas we’re holding a worldwide giveaway . We’re giving away an Edward Cullen – Breaking Dawn: Part II Poster.

As most of you know by now we’ve been working closely with Douglas Hamilton for over 6 months now. Douglas is a great musician, song writer and on top of it all he loves playing with cute animals. We’re trying to get Douglas’ music out there, however being an artist is quite tough when you’re not well known, as I’m sure most of you know. So for the past months you’ve probably seen the post at the top of the page referring to Douglas, we’re trying to help him kick start his career. Please help us spread the word.  With our planning (and your help) he’s currently in the Florida Keys working with dolphins. Check out all the cute dolphin pics and lion cub videos on his site here. You can also find all his music here

What does he have to do with Rob you ask? Nothing at all, we’re trying to help someone out. We think he has a lot of talent, however like I mentioned earlier it’s hard to get noticed he just needs to be heard. We think with your help we can do this!

Here’s what you have to do to enter:

New merchandise for 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' launched

There are several new pieces of merchandise for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 now on the market.

First, as reported by Page to Premiere, NECA has unveiled its jewelry piece for Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy). It's the locket Jacob (Taylor Lautner) gives her. None of the film stills with Renesmee so far feature the bracelet, but since it's dubbed a prop replica, it should appear in the film at some point.

Next up, Hot Topic has unveiled its line of T-shirts and other goodies from Part 2. Some of their new products can be found on their website, while others (including a pretty rad Volturi t-shirt) are listed at Amazon.

Finally Essence Cosmetics has unveiled a new European makeup line exclusive to Part 2, which includes everything from shimmer powder to lipgloss. Check that out here.

'Mad Magazine' to spoof 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2'

Long-time readers of this site will know that I adore a good bit of Twilight humor. These constant spoofs and parodies of the Saga are great, not just because they're (sometimes) funny but also because they further the series' strength in the cultural zeitgeist. To have so many comedy programs try their hand at having fun with the series indicates the relevance of the story in the pop culture community, in other words.

So, here's another one.

According to Access HollywoodMad Magazine will be spoofing The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 - along with the four prior installments - for an issue which'll hit shelves on October 12th.

Mad Magazine is not to be confused with MADTV, which has done numerous Twilight-related parodies (my favorite of which are the Twilight meets High School Musical one, the re-imagined ending to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and the spoof of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1's wedding scene which incorporated Buffy The Vampire Slayer).

The jury's out on whether the mag will be funny or not, but as a long-time fan of the publication, I personally can't wait to read it.
