Fifty Shades Books

Ok, so I have heard a lot about the Fifty Shades books being very sexual and such but I have yet to hear what exactly they are about of if they are good or not. I have not read them and I would like to ask those of you who have, what you think of them. Possibly, give a review of them? Or, even if you only read the first of the three of them, speak on that one. I thought about reading it but, I don't want to spead the money on the book if there is to big of a chance that I won't like it.

 

So, you can treat this as a Fifty Shades forum discussion if you would like. Just please, tell what you think and how you feel about them. Thank you :)

You know that fifty shades of gray was originally wrote as a twilight fan-fiction? I can't remember if i already told you this before or not.

Just finished the series a little while ago. I really dislike the series. But hey *Shrugs* you may love it. If you like Edward, you'll love Christian. He's Edward reincarnated, but worse IMO. I will admit, some of the sex scenes are as they say "Kinky F-kry LOL but after awhile, it becomes "Been There, Read That" if it's the first time you've read books with a little heat, you'll love em, but remember, there's bigger and better out there *Wiggles Eyebrows* Joking, sort of :) A caution, or a bean. The series is basically a fan fiction of Twilight, since that's what Mrs James wrote it as originally.

Oh, deary me. Might I say, simply awful books. The kink was horridly bland, however Christian still manages to be emotionally abusive. They paint the BDSM community in a bad way by saying outright that that's what it is. It paints them all as mentally unstable, as bad people. A better erotic story with kinkiness would be the Beauty trilogy, in my opinion (The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty and onward.)

And if I am fully honest, the writing is just bad, and the horrid narrative a total killer for any of the moods one is supposed to feel whilst reading it. Two thumbs down.

Ah ha. And If I hear "Oh Yes Christian" "Down There" "Oh My Gosh" "Holy Cow" one more time I will P.U.K.E!!! is this a woman or a 12 year old tween? so overrated. PS: Just saw that the fan fiction some parts of the series stole is in paper back as well!!!! gonna have to nab that one

Oh gosh, seriously? *le facepalm* Fail book gets unnecessary publicity. Tell us how dreadful it is!

'50 Shades' screenwriter intends to distance film from 'Twilight'

Fifty Shades Of Grey, you probably know by now, is a trilogy of books which began as a series of Twilight web fan-fiction called "Master of the Universe."

It is, of course, very different than Twilight in that it's an incredibly adult-oriented series and features characters with intentions and interests far dissimilar to Bella and Edward's own, but still, the origin is there in Twilight-land.

That said, with the books currently being adapted to script for Focus Features to film, the screenwriter has stepped up to ensure Fifty Shades readers that the films will distance themselves from Twilight.

From the Inquistr, screenwriter Kelly Marcel said, "This isn’t going to be Twilight. It’s going to be raunchy… We are 100% going there."

So, no PG-13 rating then? Shucks.

For the comments: Have you read 50 Shades, and if so, did you notice the Twilight connection or do you think the story holds up on its own? Do you think the films will be able to fully distance themselves from the Twilight Saga, or will that connection always remain?

Haven't read the books yet (my mom has) and we both agreed that while the books aren't too bad, they're not for kids.

It has become a habit of mine to pause and take another glance whenever an Audi Q5 or an Audi Q7 passes by... ;p
