The Twilight Saga

This is about Amelie, a half vampire half human girl who is different in a lot of ways to Renesmee. She was created, like a vampire, however the venom didn't have time to spread completely, leaving her part human. She is subject to uncontrolable rages in which she kills hundreds of people with out meaning to. It is set around the time of Eclipse.

Ghost

Chapter 1

I heard my Dad pause outside my door, I thought he was going to come in, but then I heard a meow. Oh, my cat must be outside.

“I need another bookcase.” I said to him.

His response came quickly, “No you don’t I’m sure there’s enough room on your current one.”

He came into my room, his eyes twinkling, he too, turned to look at my colossal bookshelf, which covered the whole of the wall.

“Look, Dad!” I point to the books neatly stacked at the bottom because they couldn’t fit, “They have no room at all!”

Dad smiled at me, “I’m sure you could create a bookshelf on your floor like that.”

I mock-glared at him, and whined, “Daaaad, you know I can’t. You have a day off tomorrow, can’t you build me one then?”

“I will put it on my to-do list.”

I moaned, my Dad’s to-do was about a mile long, and went from jobs that dated years back (painting the bathroom) to very recent jobs (extending the garage). If my bookshelf was put on his to-do list, it would never get done.

“There’s room there!” I pointed to the only spare wall above my bed, “You can build me one like my old room had. You know, the simple wood nailed to the wall, or whatever.”

“No, they had a terrible design. I will think long and hard about it.”

I could tell he was joking, but I followed him out of my room and down the hallway, “Think about it now and then do it tomorrow. It’s supposed to be raining so you can’t do any brick laying. You have all day to build me a bookshelf!”

I had stopped walking, Dad paused at the top of the stairs, “I will put it on my to-do list.”

I groaned and pretended to sulk. I could hear my Dad laughing, I joined in with him.

I knew it was going to get done, either tomorrow or over the weekend. There were two reasons I was positive of this: First, I was an only child and my Dad loved to see me smile, so he did a lot of stuff for me, and second, I was a wildly volatile half vampire half human girl, who with no warning, could massacre a whole village if I got angry. I got most things done for me.

I suppose I felt a bit guilty about being able to have pretty much anything done for me because people were terrified I would eat them, but they were right to worry. Of course, when I got angry, I didn’t mean to kill people, it just happened. And I regretted it deeply later. I always tried to console the families, however they ran away screaming every time they saw me. Sometimes this made me angry and I would kill the rest of them, so I gave up trying to help.

I had never killed someone close to me though. But seeing as I didn’t have any friends, I was an only child and my Mum had been murdered four years ago, my Dad was the only one close to me.

There was one major advantage of being me though. I was born with a very advanced mind. Which meant I had gone to school for a year, but at the end of that year, I knew everything my Dad knew so there was no need to continue my schooling. The Government accepted this and after that they stayed well away from my Dad and I.

Actually, I thought, staring and my bookcase, if someone wanted to hurt me, my books would be a very good place to start.

I loved my books, they were my only companions really. I loved my Dad to pieces, but he was still a Dad. My books consoled me, because they showed me fragments of lives that were so much worse than mine. Even if all of them were fictional.

I was completely sure what the name of my species was, I supposed that technically zombie was the most accurate, because I was dead but then I was saved by the kiss of a vampire.

I absentmindedly rubbed the crescent-shaped scar on my neck. I had never met that vampire who brought me back to life. I’m not that bothered either. Dad said she was nice, with short, black hair, he said she looked more like a pixie than a vampire.

Waking up from being dead, now there was an unpleasant experience. Imagine pins and needles. Now imagine that times a thousand. You now sort of understand how uncomfortable being brought back was.

I slumped onto my bed, murmuring apologies to my cat, Hazel, and turned my iPod on to some random noise. I never really got into music. It was always just background noise, quiet unnerved me. I opened my current book, an enjoyable book about demons. It was relaxing change from the endless romance that made up most of my books. I don’t think the main character in this book was even capable of love. He seemed cold.

I’d already had dinner, so there were no more disturbances that evening. It took me a couple of hours to finish my book, but I stayed up late thinking about stuff. I did it a lot. I talk to myself in my mind. Well, I speed talk. So it was about one in the morning when I finally turned my light off.

I have to learn both until year 10. So it is my last term of French (Thank god!!). I agree, German is much better.
Back on topic: after I finish writing this I'm going to post chapter 7.
Hope you enjoy it!
Chapter 7

I tried my best to tell them that I couldn’t go to school because of my anger management but they wouldn’t listen.

“Amelie, everyone will be looking out for you. Even Rosalie, it’ll be fine.” Esme had said to me.

“Yeah, and I’ve arranged some of your classes to match up with mine,” Alice had told me.

Jasper had moved closer to me and a wave of calm had descended. Edward told me later that Jasper had a gift like him, he could control emotions.

So, here I was, getting out of Edward’s Volvo. I had a really, really bad feeling about this, but I couldn’t tell any of them because none of them listened. Bella walked with me to the front office were the receptionist was. A brass name plate read: Ms. Cope.

“I’m Amelie Peterson. It’s my first day.” I told her when she looked up.

“Of course, Dr. Cullen told me you were coming. I have got your classes somewhere here just give me a minute.”

She turned around and sorted through the dangerously high piles of paperwork. I stood awkwardly and waited. Bella was leaning against the wall next to me.

Ms. Cope returned with a few sheets of paper. “Okay, so your first class is gym, with Coach Clapp. Do you need a guide or will you be able to find it?”

“No, no, I’ll be fine. Thanks.” I tried a smile but it probably didn’t look much like one.

Bella left the office with me, “Are you sure you don’t a guide?” She asked me in concern.

I shook my head, “I would prefer to find my own way.”

Bella nodded and walked away from me. I glanced at the map, and followed it until I found a large building with ‘Gym’ written on the side. I hurried through the door quickly, the wind was freezing me.

Coach Clapp was a large man who obviously enjoyed his food. He grunted at me when I introduced myself and gave me a uniform, telling me to just watch today. So I sat on a bench and watched the others play basketball. I loved basketball, and wished I could play but I stayed put. I didn’t want to make a scene on my first day.

When the class divided into teams for a match, a girl separated from the bunch and came to sit next to me. As the other’s took their places on the court she introduced herself.

“Hi, I’m Ria. Are you Amelie?” She seemed friendly enough.

I nodded and the conversation dropped. I looked at the match being played and asked the first thing that came into my head.

“Why aren’t you playing?”

She laughed, “I’m rubbish at basketball. And one of the teams needed a sub, so here I am.”

I nodded again. I needed to be more interactive.

But before I could say anything she started speaking, “Have you moved down with your family? I hadn’t noticed any of the houses being sold.”

I shook my head, “No, I’m staying with the Cullen’s. My Dad’s a sailor, he’s gone a long voyage and my Mum’s dead. The Cullen’s are close friends, so I’m staying with them until Dad gets back.” That was out chosen story. It was simplest.

“You’re staying with the Cullens?” Ria asked, a note of confusion in her voice.

“Yep. Is there something wrong with that?”

“No, I’m just surprised. The Cullens sort of, keep to themselves. I shouldn’t have reacted that way, it’s just that I’m surprised they have any normal people as friends.” She smiled apologetically.

“It’s fine. I know what you mean, they’re quite, what’s the word? Different, they’re quite different. But we’ve known each other since I was about four, and they’re really nice.”

“Ria, we need you!” One of the girls yelled.

Ria stood up, “Well, it was nice talking to you. See you later.”

“Bye.” I said as she walked away to join the game.

She seemed nice to me. I guessed that the Cullens didn’t like being too close to humans. I didn’t like being close to humans either. I had a constant fear that I was going to lose it and kill them, which I would deeply regret.

After gym, Ria came back over to me, “What’s your next class?”

“Er.” I checked my schedule, “Biology.”

“Cool, that’s mine to. I’ll show you the way.” Ria said, seeming happy that she could show me around.

A different boy with short blond spiky hair, saw us and walked right to me, “Hi, you must be the new girl. I’m Mike.”

“Hi Mike. I’m Amelie.” I informed him. If this was Mike Newton, then Bella had warned me about him.

“Hi, well if you need anything just tell me.”

I smiled and nodded vaguely, knowing that I shouldn’t get to friendly with Mike, because according to Bella and Edward he never let you go. And an annoying puppy friend wouldn’t help me keep in control, I hated dogs.

Mr. Banner, my biology teacher, was nice, but he was very boring. He droned on a bit, and I found myself getting tired during his lesson. My partner, who told me her name was Jessica, seemed to be like Alice. In the way she couldn’t keep her mouth shut for more than two minutes. The big difference, however, was that Alice usually talked about something interesting. Jessica droned on and on and on.

Thankfully, my next two classes were with Alice, so I had no worries about being bored. When I felt myself drifting off, Alice would poke me and tell me something else.

I walked with Alice to my last class before lunch, “I don’t know how you stand it Alice, it’s so boring!”

Alice smiled and said, “Just find something that keeps your mind off it.”

I groaned as she pushed me through the door. It was English. I found English the most interesting, because I could read stuff. I wasn’t a big fan of poetry, however we were doing ballads, and they were long and told quite good stories, so I found myself thoroughly enjoying it.

The only down point about it was that I had to sit next to Mike. Who after the lesson walked with me to lunch. I tried to walk over to the table where I saw Bella sitting, waiting for Edward.

“Come on, sit with us.” Mike complained.

“No, I want to sit with them, because I know them well.”

I tried to walk over there, but Mike steered me over to a different table, “Come on Amelie! You need to meet some more people.”

I could feel myself getting angry at him and my words came out harsher than usual, “No, Mike! I don’t want to sit there, I want to sit with the Cullens.”

“How do you intend to make friends if you don’t sit with anybody expect the people with no friends.”

I could feel the snap coming any minute now and I pulled sharply out of Mike’s grasp and ran out of the Cafeteria. I could feel the stares of people on my back, and it made me angrier. I ran quicker.

I ended up sitting against a tree gasping in air. When my breathing had calmed slightly, I heard footsteps.

“Alice?” I called. I needed Alice now, she kept me together.

“No, it’s me.” Ria stepped out from behind a tree, her face troubled, “Are you alright? You didn’t sound too good just then.”

I felt my anger bubbling up again as a human got near, I turned my face away, “I’m fine. Please leave me alone.”

I turned my head to see if she would follow my command. Her face was torn, not sure if I was well enough to leave alone.

“Ria, you have to leave. It’s not safe for you here!” Wrong thing to say, her face got curious.

“What do you mean?” She asked.

“I mean that I’m dangerous. Please leave!” I yelled at her.

“Not until you’re okay. You sound like you’re going crazy!” She yelled back at me.

I snapped. The bad side of me clawed its way into my brain. I grabbed hold of Ria’s throat, strangling her. I would have killed her, had I not seen the complete fear in her eyes. Then it turned to acceptance, and her face went calm. I had killed a lot, but no one had just accept death. It jerked me out of what I was doing.

I dropped Ria and turned away from her, tears streamed down my face. I had almost killed her. She had been so nice to me, coming out to comfort the crazy new girl. She even managed to get here before any of the vampires.

My knees gave out and I landed heavily on the forest floor, “I’m so sorry Ria, I’m so sorry.”

She had gotten up and dusted herself off. She looked like she wanted to run, but she stayed next to me and helped me sit up.

“What just happened?” She asked me, “And I want the truth. You almost murdered me, but I just want to know why.”

I looked at her, she was crying as well, but there was a streak of something else in there. Bravery. It was different.

“I can’t tell the exact truth, because it would be revealing too many secrets that aren’t mine to tell, but I can tell you sort of the truth.”

The anger had faded, and Ria seemed to think it was safe to sit down next to me.

“Just tell me what you can.” She said to me, handing me a tissue.

“Thanks,” I said, accepting the tissue. I thought quickly about how to make this truthful and yet not say anything about vampires, “I said that I had known the Cullens since I was four. The truth is that I only met them three days ago. When I was four I was dying of leukaemia. It was destroying my parents as well as me. I’m an only child and my Mum couldn’t have any more children. But then Alice Cullen saved me. I can’t tell you how, but she did. I never knew who changed me. But what she changed me into was dangerous. I’m not entirely human, there’s something else in me, that when I get angry, emerges. It’s not nice, it kills people and I try to stop it but I can’t. A while after I was changed, my Mum was murdered. I don’t know who by, I never got told. So it was just me and my Dad. We lived happily for a time, I liked my life. But then a few days ago these people came over and did something to scare my Dad. He made one of his work friends take me away from my home. But I lost control and killed him, along with a hotel full of people. I was trying to take a train back to London, where my house is, and that’s where I met the Cullens. They would let me buy a ticket because I wasn’t old enough, so Carlisle bought me one. Then when I got home, I found my Dad had been killed. Carlisle took me in, because Alice was the one who changed me, she’s been looking out for me.”

By the time I finished telling my story, tears were pouring down my cheeks, forming a puddle on my skirt. I glanced up at Ria who wore a stunned expression. Hesitantly, she reached out a hugged me.

“I’m so sorry. About your Dad and Mum,” She said softly.

I nodded slightly, my shoulders were trembling from telling my whole story like that. It been a very short telling, but I could see everything that had happened in it. But it was remembering how happy I had been a few days ago, when everything was fine and I had no worries, that really made me cry.

Ria held me until I pulled myself together, “Thanks.” I told her.

“For what?” She asked, surprised.

I considered why I felt grateful to her, “For listening, not running away like everyone else would do.”

She stood up, brushing sticks and leaves off her skirt. Then she offered a hand to me, “It’s what friends do.”

I smiled at her and let her pull me up.
