The Twilight Saga

This is about Amelie, a half vampire half human girl who is different in a lot of ways to Renesmee. She was created, like a vampire, however the venom didn't have time to spread completely, leaving her part human. She is subject to uncontrolable rages in which she kills hundreds of people with out meaning to. It is set around the time of Eclipse.

Ghost

Chapter 1

I heard my Dad pause outside my door, I thought he was going to come in, but then I heard a meow. Oh, my cat must be outside.

“I need another bookcase.” I said to him.

His response came quickly, “No you don’t I’m sure there’s enough room on your current one.”

He came into my room, his eyes twinkling, he too, turned to look at my colossal bookshelf, which covered the whole of the wall.

“Look, Dad!” I point to the books neatly stacked at the bottom because they couldn’t fit, “They have no room at all!”

Dad smiled at me, “I’m sure you could create a bookshelf on your floor like that.”

I mock-glared at him, and whined, “Daaaad, you know I can’t. You have a day off tomorrow, can’t you build me one then?”

“I will put it on my to-do list.”

I moaned, my Dad’s to-do was about a mile long, and went from jobs that dated years back (painting the bathroom) to very recent jobs (extending the garage). If my bookshelf was put on his to-do list, it would never get done.

“There’s room there!” I pointed to the only spare wall above my bed, “You can build me one like my old room had. You know, the simple wood nailed to the wall, or whatever.”

“No, they had a terrible design. I will think long and hard about it.”

I could tell he was joking, but I followed him out of my room and down the hallway, “Think about it now and then do it tomorrow. It’s supposed to be raining so you can’t do any brick laying. You have all day to build me a bookshelf!”

I had stopped walking, Dad paused at the top of the stairs, “I will put it on my to-do list.”

I groaned and pretended to sulk. I could hear my Dad laughing, I joined in with him.

I knew it was going to get done, either tomorrow or over the weekend. There were two reasons I was positive of this: First, I was an only child and my Dad loved to see me smile, so he did a lot of stuff for me, and second, I was a wildly volatile half vampire half human girl, who with no warning, could massacre a whole village if I got angry. I got most things done for me.

I suppose I felt a bit guilty about being able to have pretty much anything done for me because people were terrified I would eat them, but they were right to worry. Of course, when I got angry, I didn’t mean to kill people, it just happened. And I regretted it deeply later. I always tried to console the families, however they ran away screaming every time they saw me. Sometimes this made me angry and I would kill the rest of them, so I gave up trying to help.

I had never killed someone close to me though. But seeing as I didn’t have any friends, I was an only child and my Mum had been murdered four years ago, my Dad was the only one close to me.

There was one major advantage of being me though. I was born with a very advanced mind. Which meant I had gone to school for a year, but at the end of that year, I knew everything my Dad knew so there was no need to continue my schooling. The Government accepted this and after that they stayed well away from my Dad and I.

Actually, I thought, staring and my bookcase, if someone wanted to hurt me, my books would be a very good place to start.

I loved my books, they were my only companions really. I loved my Dad to pieces, but he was still a Dad. My books consoled me, because they showed me fragments of lives that were so much worse than mine. Even if all of them were fictional.

I was completely sure what the name of my species was, I supposed that technically zombie was the most accurate, because I was dead but then I was saved by the kiss of a vampire.

I absentmindedly rubbed the crescent-shaped scar on my neck. I had never met that vampire who brought me back to life. I’m not that bothered either. Dad said she was nice, with short, black hair, he said she looked more like a pixie than a vampire.

Waking up from being dead, now there was an unpleasant experience. Imagine pins and needles. Now imagine that times a thousand. You now sort of understand how uncomfortable being brought back was.

I slumped onto my bed, murmuring apologies to my cat, Hazel, and turned my iPod on to some random noise. I never really got into music. It was always just background noise, quiet unnerved me. I opened my current book, an enjoyable book about demons. It was relaxing change from the endless romance that made up most of my books. I don’t think the main character in this book was even capable of love. He seemed cold.

I’d already had dinner, so there were no more disturbances that evening. It took me a couple of hours to finish my book, but I stayed up late thinking about stuff. I did it a lot. I talk to myself in my mind. Well, I speed talk. So it was about one in the morning when I finally turned my light off.

Okay here is chapter 9, sorry it is up so late.

Chapter 9

The feeling went away as soon as I was inside the house. I shut the door firmly, forcing myself not to glance outside to see if there was a stranger standing in the woods.

Alice drifted over to Emmett and Jasper, who were still playing chess. It looked like they had started a new game however.

I traced Alice’s footsteps and asked, “So who won in the end?”

Jasper smiled at me, “I did. Emmett is rubbish at it.”

Emmett growled so deeply it shook the chessboards, “You cheated. It’s not my fault.”

Alice laughed and seated herself on Jasper’s lap. I heard Emmett protest that she would help him cheat. I walked upstairs to the room that I now considered to be mine. I picked up Inkheart and placed it back in the drawer. I looked at the other scattered books, and picked them all up, piling them beside the bed. I would work through the tower quite quickly, there were only seven or so there.

I started on the top one. It was an unfamiliar book, called ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ but I recognised the author, so I started it eagerly.

The next thing I knew, Alice was knocking on my bedroom door. She was holding some of the bags from our shopping trip.

“We bought all this stuff and you haven’t worn it yet! I’m going to plan you an outfit everyday, which you are going to wear. And here,” she tossed me a pair of pyjamas, “If you’re going to lie in your bed, put those one.”

She dumped the bags by the door and left me to get changed. I stripped off my jeans and top, and pulled on the soft pyjamas. I crawled into bed, wanting a decent nights sleep for once.

Just as I was drifting off. The feeling came back. I sat bolt upright. This was beyond annoying. I don’t care how interested they are in me, I want to be able to sleep. I turned on my bedside light, and pulled the covers over my head.

I did this when I was a little girl and I was afraid that a burglar would come into my room. My logic was that they wouldn’t come in if the light was on, and even if they did I could pretend to be asleep and under my covers so they would leave me alone. Terrible logic but it used to comfort me. It comforted me now, and I felt my eyes close, engulfing me in dreams.

The morning came too early. Bright light streamed through the windows, momentarily blinding me. Once my eyes had adjusted I glanced at the large clock on my wall, half past six. I groaned and shoved the covers off me and onto the floor. I now see why children hate going to school. I was a fan of sleeping in late.

I dressed in the clothes Alice had neatly laid out for me, not caring what they looked like. I stumbled into the bathroom and brushed my teeth lazily. By the time I had done all of that it was quarter to seven. I went downstairs, determined to eat something before I left, Esme was waiting with some slices of toast. I gulped them down too fast and felt my stomach cramping. Damn it.

“Amelie, we’re waiting for you.” Jasper said.

Jasper and I were on good terms. He seemed to like me and I liked him. I wandered over to the car, taking my time. It was a red BMW today. I preferred the Porsche and the Vanquish, but a red BMW M3 was good enough for me.

Rosalie was driving this time, with Emmett in the front seat, his arm slung over her shoulder. Alice wasn’t in the car, neither was Edward so I sat in the back seat with Jasper. It was a quiet journey for me. Emmett and Rosalie were murmuring to each other but I couldn’t here precise words, and Jasper sat still and silent beside me.

At school Alice was leaning against Edward’s silver Volvo. Edward and Bella were standing a little way away, deep in conversation. I walked over to Alice and stood enjoying the cool breeze. It was nice not having any rain for once.

I yawned and rubbed my eyes. Alice looked at me in concern, “Did you get enough sleep last night? I know that you mortals need to get sleep but I didn’t want to tell you to go to bed encase I sounded like your mother…”

“No, Alice. I just went up slightly to late. I’ll go to sleep earlier tonight.”

Alice nodded but didn’t say anything else because Ria was coming over to me. She smiled at Alice and waved slightly, Alice smiled back then whispered to me, “Bye. I’m going to see Jasper.” Then she walked off gracefully. I sighed in envy, I bet I didn’t look like a ballerina when I walked. She turned and said, “By the way, well done in basketball. You played really well.”

“Alice! I haven’t played yet!” She just grinned at me and danced off. Ria joined me just then.

Ria came up to my side looking worried, “Does she not like me or something?”

I laughed at the assumption, “No she just was missing Jasper. She couldn’t share a lift with him today.”

“Oh okay. As long as I’m not scaring your family off.” She laughed.

I smiled at her, but my smiled faded as I saw Mike Newton making a bee line for me and Ria. I glanced around for an escape route and saw an excellent haven – girl’s toilets.

“Cover for me.” I whispered to Ria, before barging through the door. I saw Mike’s crestfallen face just before the door slammed. I breathed a sigh of relief and went to sit in one of the cubicles.

I heard the door open then shut, “Amelie?” It was Ria. I pushed open my door with a sigh of relief, I wouldn’t put it past Mike to sneak into the girl’s toilets.

“Is he gone?” I asked her. It wasn’t safe to go outside if he hadn’t.

“Yeah, I scared him off.” I raised an eyebrow at her, “Well, I didn’t actually. He just told me to tell you ‘sorry’ and that he won’t do it again.”

“It was better than nothing.” I sighed. Hoping desperately that Mike would leave me alone. I didn’t like it when people – especially humans – paid an interest in my life. I stood up and made my way to the door, making Ria check that Mike wasn’t skulking outside first.

But the coast was clear and I made it to gym without any annoying boys following me. Gym was fun, basketball took my mind off everything, and my team won so there was no chance of me getting mad, but Alice said that she would be looking out for me. And I guess that’s what she meant by ‘well done’ this morning.

“You’re amazing at basketball. The school should make a team just for you,” Ria said to me as I changed out of my gym uniform and back into Alice’s chosen outfit.

“This school doesn’t have a team?” I thought that most school’s had sports teams. Maybe it was different in America. Or this school was just too small to be able to form a team of really good players.

“Nah, we’re too small. We would be rubbish. But they should still consider basketball now that you’re here. I like your clothes by the way.”

I looked down at my outfit, ignoring the compliments though I could feel my cheeks warming. “Thanks, Alice picked it out for me. I think she likes clothes.” I told her.

Ria nodded as if she understood. We went our separate ways, she went on to Spanish and I walked over to Biology. We had moved on to cell structure in biology, something I couldn’t get my head round for my life. It didn’t help that I was sitting next to the mouth piece of Forks High School. Jessica would not shut up. She just went on and on and on about how much she liked Mike, how their date had gone and her best friend Lauren Mallory. It was very boring and I found myself falling to sleep slightly. The bell woke me up though, and I hurried to English.

English was dreadful. I would have really enjoyed it, because we were stripping down ballads and really looking at the meaning of them, but Mike wouldn’t stop apologising to me. He and Jessica made a great couple, neither of them would shut up.

At lunch, I sat safely with the Cullens, Angela, Ben and Ria. Ria seemed a bit intimidated by them, but I talked to her mostly and saved her the ordeal of having to make conversation. Not that they weren’t nice, it was just that I could tell Ria would rather not have to make polite conversation with vampires. Even though she didn’t know the details, she knew enough to make conversation very awkward.

Calculus dragged by. I hate maths, and I daydreamed through the whole of it. I knew it all anyway. The language that I had opted for was German. Mainly because I was already fluent in it, so I wouldn’t have to work. My teacher soon discovered this when I had a whole conversation about the state of the politics in Germany (oder Deustchland). She walked away slightly dazed while the other students eyed me enviously.

So while the others struggled through modal verbs, I read through the text book. It was the easiest thing I had ever read. It was made for seventeen and eighteen year olds, and all it was saying this like ‘I like blue’ and ‘I have a cat’. Not exactly challenging material, but it kept me entertained.

German was my last lesson so when the bell rang, I grabbed my school bag and legged it for the door. School was boring, I don’t know how the Cullen’s managed to sit through it. And they knew more than me!

Alice was waiting by the BMW, “Hey Amelie! How was school?”

“I have no idea how you manage to cope Alice. It is so boring. Plus all the humans I sit next to think I want to hear about every single thing that happened in their life. It’s driving me mad!”

Alice laughed at my little rant, “You should watch the humans. They really are quite entertaining, especially the things that bother them. And if you want real fun, let a fly into the room. It freaks everyone out and disrupts the lessons for ages!”

I put on a clearly fake offended face, “Alice! I would never ever do something cruel like that! And what type of fly works best?”

“Anything that looks like a wasp. Just make sure it can’t actually hurt anyone. So don’t let a real wasp into the room.”

I nodded, thinking that one day, if I got really bored, I should try it out. But with a harmless fly, I agreed with Alice on the nothing that will hurt the humans front. Still, anything to make school a bit more lively was good.

I slid into the BMW, and Alice got in next to me. I looked at her questioningly.

“Edward spends ages at Bella’s house. In the morning it’s alright, but in the afternoon he doesn’t leave.”

I nodded, that made sense to me and I wasn’t about to complain about Alice being in the car. It was way to silent without her. Jasper smiled when he saw Alice there, and kissed her on the cheek it was quite sweet to watch, especially for me.

Rosalie and Emmett took longer to come, they were coming from Gym, so I guessed they were let out late and still needed to change. Rosalie was laughing at a joke Emmett had just told her. Her laugh reached the car, it was like a chorus of bells.

I sighed in envy, no one could match Rosalie. Rosalie seemed to hear my sigh because she looked directly at me and smiled. She probably like being admired, I couldn’t blame her, I would too if I looked like her.

Rosalie got in the driver seat and threw the car into reverse. She drove fast, not as fast as Alice, but still quite fast.

I stared out the window at the dense green walls of either side of me. I thought I saw a flash of movement in the trees, but it was probably just a deer or something. When the car stopped, I took a good look around, however nothing presented itself. I snorted quietly, why would I expect it to?

But as I drew closer to the house, the hairs on the back of my neck rose. I forced myself not to look around, knowing that I would see no one. But now I knew that someone was watching me very closely.
I love this! I love when alice tells her to let a fly into the room- thatll be really funny to read lol and im glad u made her awesome at basketball! Great job on this chapter!
