The Twilight Saga

This is about Amelie, a half vampire half human girl who is different in a lot of ways to Renesmee. She was created, like a vampire, however the venom didn't have time to spread completely, leaving her part human. She is subject to uncontrolable rages in which she kills hundreds of people with out meaning to. It is set around the time of Eclipse.

Ghost

Chapter 1

I heard my Dad pause outside my door, I thought he was going to come in, but then I heard a meow. Oh, my cat must be outside.

“I need another bookcase.” I said to him.

His response came quickly, “No you don’t I’m sure there’s enough room on your current one.”

He came into my room, his eyes twinkling, he too, turned to look at my colossal bookshelf, which covered the whole of the wall.

“Look, Dad!” I point to the books neatly stacked at the bottom because they couldn’t fit, “They have no room at all!”

Dad smiled at me, “I’m sure you could create a bookshelf on your floor like that.”

I mock-glared at him, and whined, “Daaaad, you know I can’t. You have a day off tomorrow, can’t you build me one then?”

“I will put it on my to-do list.”

I moaned, my Dad’s to-do was about a mile long, and went from jobs that dated years back (painting the bathroom) to very recent jobs (extending the garage). If my bookshelf was put on his to-do list, it would never get done.

“There’s room there!” I pointed to the only spare wall above my bed, “You can build me one like my old room had. You know, the simple wood nailed to the wall, or whatever.”

“No, they had a terrible design. I will think long and hard about it.”

I could tell he was joking, but I followed him out of my room and down the hallway, “Think about it now and then do it tomorrow. It’s supposed to be raining so you can’t do any brick laying. You have all day to build me a bookshelf!”

I had stopped walking, Dad paused at the top of the stairs, “I will put it on my to-do list.”

I groaned and pretended to sulk. I could hear my Dad laughing, I joined in with him.

I knew it was going to get done, either tomorrow or over the weekend. There were two reasons I was positive of this: First, I was an only child and my Dad loved to see me smile, so he did a lot of stuff for me, and second, I was a wildly volatile half vampire half human girl, who with no warning, could massacre a whole village if I got angry. I got most things done for me.

I suppose I felt a bit guilty about being able to have pretty much anything done for me because people were terrified I would eat them, but they were right to worry. Of course, when I got angry, I didn’t mean to kill people, it just happened. And I regretted it deeply later. I always tried to console the families, however they ran away screaming every time they saw me. Sometimes this made me angry and I would kill the rest of them, so I gave up trying to help.

I had never killed someone close to me though. But seeing as I didn’t have any friends, I was an only child and my Mum had been murdered four years ago, my Dad was the only one close to me.

There was one major advantage of being me though. I was born with a very advanced mind. Which meant I had gone to school for a year, but at the end of that year, I knew everything my Dad knew so there was no need to continue my schooling. The Government accepted this and after that they stayed well away from my Dad and I.

Actually, I thought, staring and my bookcase, if someone wanted to hurt me, my books would be a very good place to start.

I loved my books, they were my only companions really. I loved my Dad to pieces, but he was still a Dad. My books consoled me, because they showed me fragments of lives that were so much worse than mine. Even if all of them were fictional.

I was completely sure what the name of my species was, I supposed that technically zombie was the most accurate, because I was dead but then I was saved by the kiss of a vampire.

I absentmindedly rubbed the crescent-shaped scar on my neck. I had never met that vampire who brought me back to life. I’m not that bothered either. Dad said she was nice, with short, black hair, he said she looked more like a pixie than a vampire.

Waking up from being dead, now there was an unpleasant experience. Imagine pins and needles. Now imagine that times a thousand. You now sort of understand how uncomfortable being brought back was.

I slumped onto my bed, murmuring apologies to my cat, Hazel, and turned my iPod on to some random noise. I never really got into music. It was always just background noise, quiet unnerved me. I opened my current book, an enjoyable book about demons. It was relaxing change from the endless romance that made up most of my books. I don’t think the main character in this book was even capable of love. He seemed cold.

I’d already had dinner, so there were no more disturbances that evening. It took me a couple of hours to finish my book, but I stayed up late thinking about stuff. I did it a lot. I talk to myself in my mind. Well, I speed talk. So it was about one in the morning when I finally turned my light off.

Chapter 21

The Cullens were nothing short of stunned when they saw Alec and I, hand in hand. However they didn’t comment when we walked together, gathering pieces of Alec’s old family. He didn’t seem to mind, and we never came upon the remains of his sister. One of the Cullens had probably already done it.

It was odd, watching the purple smoke rise up to the sky. Knowing that inside the flames were the remnants of Alec’s life. But he didn’t even seem sad as he too, stared up at the smoke. The sweet cloying smell of the smoke made me sneeze lightly.

Carlisle came over, flanked by Jasper and Emmett. They were probably worried about Alec attacking them.

“Alec, we understand, sort of, what has just happened,” his eyes darted to me, “But when the Romanians return for us, they will not take kindly to you being alive.”

His tone held a note of finality. They weren’t going to send him away were they? I would follow him anywhere, but I didn’t want to leave the Cullens and Ria.

“So we would like you to go back to our house, we will wait until the Romanians go back before we return. You should be safe there.” I relaxed, they were letting him stay! My mind rejoiced.

Alec looked at me, a little worried, “Go.” I chided, “I’ll be safe here.” He nodded and sprinted smoothly to the east. He was so graceful and fast, and unbelievably beautiful. I stared at the spot he had disappeared from.

“Put your eyes back in their sockets, Amelie.” I head a joking voice behind me say.

I turned to see all the Cullens assembled with raised eyebrows. Even Ria was looking at me. Emmett was smirking slightly.

Rosalie, however, was looking more than slightly annoyed, “What if this was all part of the Volturi’s plans? He could be searching through our house at the moment.”

I growled sharply. How could she think that. But Edward cut it, “Rose, I can still hear him. He’s not planning to go searching through our stuff. He’s waiting to see Amelie again.”

I felt my face glow at this. He wanted to see him. He – a god like creature – wanted to see me – a completely ordinary, very dangerous hybrid. And then my happy thoughts were distracted by Edward saying, “They’re coming back.”

He was right. Within two seconds, the clearing was full of talking vampires, each with bright red eyes. It was slightly unnerving.

Stefan and Vladimir were at the front of the line, and they seemed please when they saw the huge bonfire. They probably were happy that they didn’t have to clean up. Lazy vampires.

Vladimir raised his hands and silence fell, “We have made you many promises. First, we promised to get rid of the Volturi for you, and we have done that. Second, we promised you that every vampire will be equal and there shall be no laws expect keep the secret. Everything else is legal and you will not be punished for doing it. The Volturi did a bad job on the immortal children, and many friends and family were lost. We would not do that, the only people who would have suffered were the children for they were the ones who were endangering the secret.” Cheers greeted his words.

The Romanians allowed them to die out of their own accord, and then Stefan spoke, “We have made you promises. And in return, there has been a promise made to us.” They turned to look at us, “A human girl found out our secret, and she is here now. We had an agreement with the vampires over there. We wouldn't hurt them, if they allowed us to change the human child. We keep our promises, if you keep yours.”

By this time every pair of glowing red eyes were focused on my family. Some were looking at me, clearly thinking that I was the human, but others were focused on Ria. Ria glanced at Alice and Alice took her hand and led her up to where the Romanians stood.

“You promised to change her. Do we have you permission to push you away if you start to drink?” Alice asked in a business like voice.

Stefan and Vladimir seemed slightly amused by this statement. But they motioned for two women to come. One was the same height as me, with pale brown hair and the other was very tall, at least six feet. She had an extremely short hairstyle that curved around her face, accenting her sharp features.

“This is Catalena and Florence. They will stop us.” Vladimir said calmly. Alice nodded seeming satisfied, “Come forward girl.”

Ria stumbled forward. She may be brave talking about this, but when actually faced with it, she was terrified. Tears were streaming down her cheeks and she came to a halting stop in front of the two tall men. She closed her eyelids over her brown-green eyes as Stefan leant into her neck as if to kiss her.

And he bit her. I watched anxious, to see if he would drink from her, but he must have already been full, because he withdrew. Licking the bright-red blood off his lips.

Ria had fallen into Alice’s arms. She laid her gently on the grass. And then Ria screamed.
