The Twilight Saga

I'm sorry for all the Bella lovers out there but there is something about her I dont like. As a writer myself, i would never put my main character (who are mainly girls) to always be a depressing girl. I have nothing against Kristen Stewart I just dont like her character. She's not girly she doesn't wear skirts, barely makeup, she's always depressed about something. I remember in New Moon she was sleeping on the floor in the bathroom. I understand that Stephanie Meyer is trying to potray Bella as a normal teenage girl but teenage girls dont have a blank face, they are happy and excited to go to prom. A normal girl loves to go to prom and be with their boyfriends. I really dont understand her character. She's really not normal to me.

Because she isn't well-developed and most of the things she does are over-the-top attempts at compensating. It's okay, I'm a writer too. And I hate her, too.

I think it is unfair to compare Bella to Kristen.  Kristen said she would 'play the role as herself'  and so what we see is Kristen showing us who SHE is and not who the book character of Bella is.  I think many have confused this by infusing the books with the films and to do that is an injustice to the book character.  I also think some don't know the difference as they think the character on screen is the onlyu real charaterization of the character from the books. It also helps how you interpreted the story as well.

I don't like Bella either and find her extremely annoying.

i am a writtr bella is something different and if she is a narrator it is a good choice

I like Bella from books. Generally.  I know there are no perfect girls at all. If they are not coming from Stepford, lol.

yes

what many do not like about her is exactly why I like her too.  She is herself as made by God and has no will to be seen otherwise.  You either like her as is or you do not and she seems to me okay with that.  I LOVE her personality.  She is always thinking of others.

Wait, WHAT?!

"She is always thinking of others."

Other than protecting Charlie, when did she EVER take anyone else into account? She freeely admitted, several times, how selfishly she mistreated both Edward and Jacob - particularly during Eclipse.

Too far off the topic? I asked a direct question about your statement, which was directly supporting your earlier-stated opinion, which in turn was directly addressing the Original Post. That is a natural, direct evolution of the initial topic. Please reconsider. I am interested in your response.

O.o

Why would you delete it? Again, I would like to point out that it was a natural conversational evolution. If the site member who initially posted this thread (or a moderator) were to delete our comments for inappropriate content, that'd be different. I feel you are senselessly censoring yourself.

?

Exactly!  You have a valid question that is the resting place of an opinion. All topics have a natural flow in conversation and sometimes little rabbit trails are made and once settled then the thread naturally goes back on topic.
