In Your Wildest Dreams

Chapter 1

I never really thought about what I wanted to do in life, but I knew I wanted to be something big. I wanted to do something big, I just wasn’t sure what that was yet. Right now, I lived in a small town named Forks, in my senior year of high school. I was quite the popular one, the cheerleader who dated the quarterback type. I was class president, as well as in drama and choir. I loved to sing and I loved to act. Those were my two passions in life. So I kept busy with all that I did, as well as having a personal life. I took care of my dad, because well, honestly, he wouldn’t be able to do it alone. Him and my mom have been divorced since I was little, and when she remarried, Phil, who is her husband now, travels and she likes to travel with him, so it was easier to live with my dad. I have only been here for about six years, but that has given me ample opportunity to make friends and acquire a status of popularity.

I was walking down the hall when I heard a friend call after me.

“Bella, wait up.”

I stopped and turned around to see one of my best friends running towards me, “Alice, what’s up?”

Alice and I have been friends since I moved here. She is the fashion diva of the school, and if anyone has questions, she is your girl. She is also a senior, and she has a brother and a sister. Her brother, Edward, is in the same grade as us, yet they are not twins. He was adopted at a young age. He is very quiet, but looks very dangerous. I hear he is a player, but he has never made a move for me. Her sister is Rosalie. She is a year older, and is dating Emmett. Emmett is also out of high school and living the big life in New York City, working for a large firm. Rosalie is, of course, there with him. Alice is dating Rosalie’s younger brother, Jasper. He is in our grade as well. They are so cute together. I hope one day to find true love. Not a guy who just wants to see if he can score. This is not the woman for the job.

“Bella, I have found the perfect outfit for prom. You have to see it.”

“Alice, prom is not for another six months. Why are you looking already?”

“Because you can never be too prepared. Please?” She put on her best frown, she knew exactly what to do to make me cave in.

I sighed and shrugged my shoulders, “Okay. Where is it at?”

“It’s at my house. Meet me there after school and I will show it to you.” She bounced up and down, clapping her hands. Sometimes I felt like she could be a little childish, but I loved her the same and wouldn’t have her any other way.

“Okay, I will see you there. Bye Alice.”

“Bye Bella.”

I walked towards my locker. I felt someone grab my shoulders and spin me around. Before I could grasp who it was or even say anything, I had warm lips pressed to mine. I felt the hands around my waist, pulling me closer. I naturally pushed back slightly to see who my attack kisser was, and found it was my boyfriend.

“Well, hello there.”

“Hey babe. How are you? Are you ready for tonight?”

“What’s going on tonight? I don’t remember having plans, not with you anyway.”

“Aw Bella, we were supposed to go over to James and hang with the guys to watch football.”

“Ugh, Mike, I don’t want to go over there, not tonight. Plus, I told Alice I would go to her house tonight. She wanted to show me something.”

“Bella, I am tired of you always coming up with excuses for not going anywhere with me.”

“Well, then do something I want to do for once and that wouldn’t be an issue.”

“I thought you liked the guys. What’s wrong with watching football with our friends?”

I let out a deep breath, trying to rid myself of the frustration that built within me. Mike, sometimes could be the sweetest person, but other times, he was too self absorbed. It was very tiresome. I just wanted to get away.

“Mike, we will talk about this later. I have to get going.” I turned to walk away, and he grabbed my arm. Not lightly either. I felt the pain shoot down to my wrist. I looked at him in fear as well as anger. I have never had him touch me in this manner. “Mike, if you want to walk away today, I suggest you let go of me.” I snarled between clenched teeth. Instead of his letting up like I had expected it to, he tightened it. The pain began to course through me and it was hard to concentrate on him and what he was thinking. This was the first time I truly felt fear of my boyfriend.

“I will let you go when I feel I am ready. You do not tell me what to do. And it is about time you act like my girlfriend, and quit blowing me off for your loser friends,” he spoke in a low, demanding voice.

I looked at him, pushing the fear to the back of my mind, pulling the anger to the front, “Well, if you want a girlfriend who will be there at your beckon call, then I suggest you go find one that will, because that is not me. Now, I will say once again, let go of me.”

I didn’t realize everyone in the school had stopped to watch our confrontation. I felt my face flush. Mike realized it as well, because he let go. As he walked by me, he leaned close to my ear, “This is not over yet, Bella. We will finish this conversation some other time. You can count on that.” he walked away.

I felt my heart sink, the knot in my stomach grow. I knew he was right, he never backed down from a fight, and well, I just jumped to the top of his list for one. I rubbed my arm where he had grabbed it and rubbed it. It was definitely sore and I was sure there would be a mark later. I finished grabbing my things and left the building. I went to my car and drove away. Instead of going to my house first, I went to Alice’s. I called Charlie from my cell and told him what I was doing tonight. He was okay with that. I pulled into Alice’s driveway, trying to hide my days events form my eyes. I had been holding back the tears this long, I did not want them to spill now. I rang the doorbell and Carlisle answered. He was Alice’s father, and the town doctor. A very nice, and not too hard on the eyes, man.

“Hello Bella, so nice to see you again.”

“Thank you Carlisle. Is Alice here?”

“She is up in her room. Go ahead and go on up.”

“Thank you.” I nodded at him and walked up the stairs. The Cullen’s had a magnificent house. And it was secluded in the woods, which made it even nicer. I knocked on Alice’s door and she answered for me to come in.

“Hey Alice.”

“Oh Bella, I wasn’t expecting you this soon. But I am glad you came.” She looked at me suspiciously, knowing something was wrong. “Bella? What’s wrong? What happened?”

I could no longer hold back the tears, they flowed freely. I told her about my confrontation with Mike and how I basically broke up with him this afternoon, and about his threat.

She touched my shoulder, “Oh Bella, I am so sorry. I wish I would have been there to help you. Are you okay?”

I stifled back the last tears, “Yea, I think I will be okay. I didn’t mean to put all this on you. But I know Mike, when he makes a threat, he usually follows through on it. I don’t know what to do. He hurt me today, and didn’t even blink about it.”

“Aw, honey. It will be okay. I won’t let anything happen. I will talk to Edward and see if he will maybe keep an eye out for Mike.”

I shook my head, “No, Alice. I will be okay. I can handle Mike. I have for two years now. I just guess I never thought he would turn violent.” I shuddered at the thought of Mike possibly hurting me, on purpose.

Alice and I finished our evening. I felt better by the time I went home. They had me over for dinner, Esme was a really good cook. Alice showed me the dress she picked out for prom. It was beautiful. It suited her perfectly. Alice continued to reassure me about Mike. I wanted to believe her, but my gut feeling told me otherwise. I pulled into my driveway and found Mike’s car parked outside. I sighed, and felt the wave of fear course through my body for a second time again today.

Chapter 2

I couldn’t help but over hear the conversation between my sister and Bella. I felt the rage build deep within me as she spoke of how Mike treated her today, and to top it off, threatened her. I wanted to see him myself and let him know he needed to pick on someone his own size. I walked to my room and seethed. I know Bella didn’t think much of me. I was the quiet one, the one who stuck to myself, but I have always loved her. I will protect her, know matter what she says, and if he even lays one hand on her, he will wish that he hadn’t. I turned no my stereo, turned on Debussy, to help calm me down. I laid on my bed and stared at the ceiling. I thought of when I first met Bella, and how beautiful she was. Her long brown hair, her chocolate filled eyes, and the blush that would creep into her cheeks if you even said anything of the sorts about her.

She never looked twice in my direction, since she became the popular one. But it never stopped how I felt about her. Maybe one day, I will be able to make the move and let her know how I feel about her. She definitely deserves more that dirt bag Mike. I felt the anger begin to rise again, and tried to put in the back of my head before I went to his house tonight. I knew I would do something about it though, whether she wanted me to or not.

I felt my heart pound, my stomach tighten in a knot as I pulled into my driveway. I didn’t know why Mike would be here, at my house, tonight. Especially with my dad here, he wouldn’t try something stupid. I stepped out of my pickup and went inside. I saw Charlie and Mike sitting on the couch, watching a ball game. Charlie looked in my direction, and then so did Mike.

“Hey Bells. How was you day today?” Charlie asked nonchalantly. I wondered what he would say or do if I told him about the threat that Mike made towards me today, or the injury to my arm, which already has black and blue marks where he squeezed.

I looked at Mike and he smiled, “Uh, uh… it was okay, I guess. How about you dad. How was your day?”

“It was alright. Uneventful. Mike here stopped by because he wanted to talk to you. He said you had a disagreement today.”

I raised my eyebrow towards him, a disagreement, huh? It was definitely more than a disagreement. “Alright, well come on, let’s talk Mike.” I motioned him to follow me. We went upstairs.

Before he barely had the door to my room shut, I spun around on him, “What the hell do you think you are doing here Mike? You know we had more than a disagreement today. And I told you it was over.”

He stepped towards me, “And I told you we would finish our conversation later. It is now later, time to finish it.”

“There is nothing left to be said. I told you that I was no longer going to have you tell me what I could or couldn’t do.” I went to turn around, and he once again grabbed my arm. I yanked free of it, and walked out the door. He followed. I went down the stairs and told him as we walked that I wanted him to leave.

We arrived at the front door, he looked at me with those pleading eyes, knowing that Charlie would see it more as a disagreement than an actual break-up fight. “Please Bella, come outside and talk to me. Please.”

“Oh Bella, go outside and talk to the boy. He looks upset.”

I scowled towards Charlie, knowing he didn’t understand the capabilities of Mike Newton and what he could do to me if we were alone. But I knew he would be close, I could scream if I had to. We stepped out side. After the door was shut, he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards his car. I struggled to make him let go, but his grip tightened.

“Mike, let go of me.”

“No,” he said sharply. “I said I wanted to talk, and we are going to talk.”

“There is nothing left to be said. I said all I needed to say, now let me go.”

“No,” he opened his car door and shoved me into the passenger seat. “We will talk more.”

My heart was pounding, and I felt nauseous. I saw him take his cell out of his pocket and dial. All I could understand was Charlie’s name. Oh no, he was telling Charlie that we were going for a drive. I didn’t want to be alone with this person. I knew what he was capable of. After he put the phone back in his pocket, he walked around the car a climbed in.

“Where are you taking me? I don’t want to go anywhere with you Mike.”

“We are just going somewhere more private. I want to talk through this Bella. I’m sorry for hurting you earlier, I didn’t mean to.”

I could hear the anguish in his voice, but still didn’t trust him. We drove for a short while before he stopped in front of a wooded area. I thought, great, he could kill me, and no one would ever know. He stepped out of the car, came around to my side and opened my door. He took my hand gently and pulled me from the car.

“Bella, we can stand right here and talk. I just want to tell you how sorry I am for earlier today.”

He tried stepping closer to me and putting his arms around my waist. I put my hands on his chest and pushed him back.

“No Mike, I don’t care if you’re sorry. I have had enough of your controlling ways. I deserve better than you. Someone who will treat me right.”

He raised his voice, “Treat you better? You will have no one treat you as good as me. I treat you just fine.”

I started to yell, “Treat me fine?” I took my shirt off, standing there in my bra and pointed to the bruising that formed on my arm from earlier. “This is what you call treating me good, Mike? I don’t think so. Now, I want to go home, and I will walk if you won’t take me.”

“You’re not going anywhere. You deserved that, and I will give you whatever you deserve.” He stepped towards me again, pinning me against his car. He tried leaning in to kiss me, but not before I hit him in the stomach. He flinched back slightly, enough for me to get out from between him and the car. He regained his balance and before I could step aside, his hand collided with my cheek. I felt the burn and the pain shoot into it. My hand instantly went to it, my mouth agape. “I told you that you weren’t going anywhere.”

“Mike, leave me alone.”

“NO!” he yelled. He started to step towards me again. I moved backwards.

I tried to move away, but not before his hand caught my wrist, twisting. “Ouch, Mike, you’re hurting me. Let go.”

He continued trying to walk me into the woods, I struggled. When I thought it was a lost cause, I felt Mike’s grip loosen and pushed aside. I lost my balance and fell to the ground. I felt the pain shoot into the back of my head and then blackness hit.

I couldn’t stand to be in my room any longer. I decided to go for a walk. I went towards the woods, where it was peaceful. The sky was not quite dark, you could see the orange in the horizon where the sun began to set. In the other horizon, the clouds were dark, threatening rain. This is where I would walk when I needed to think. I enjoyed the sound of nature, the fresh air. It allowed me to think clearly. I wasn’t walking for long before I came upon some rustling sounds on he edge of the woods. I crept closer and looked towards the sound to see what was going on. I saw two figures struggling, one female, one male. It looked like the female was trying to get loose and the male wouldn’t let her go. I watched for another moment before I realized who it was. It was Bella and Mike. She was trying to get him to let go and he wouldn’t. I felt the rage build, the anger rise. I ran across the ground, tackling him. I gave him a few good punches to the face, one the stomach, before he finally fell to the ground.

He looked up at me, surprise crossing his face, I’m sure at who just took him down. “You? Since when could you fight?”

“Since always, do you want to go another round?” I seethed.

“Then I suggest you never touch Bella again. Leave her alone, or you will deal with me. Now, leave. I will make sure she gets home safely, and Charlie knows what has aspired here tonight.”

“Aw, does little Edward like Bella? How sweet. You know she will play with you like you’re a little toy and then toss you aside when you are broke. She is a tease, and then never wants to fulfill.”

I couldn’t help myself, I walked over to him, and balled up my fist, and watched it collide with his jaw. He fell backwards.

“You will pay for this Cullen. You better watch your back.”

“Yeah, whatever.” I watched as Mike got in his car and drove away. I looked over and saw Bella lying on the ground, motionless. I walked over to her, dropped to my knees and rolled her onto her back. I lifted her up slightly.

“Bella, Bella, can you hear me?” I watched her eyes flutter, but not fully open. It was a moment before I realized she wasn’t wearing a shirt. I took off my jacket and wrapped it around her carefully. “Bella, can you hear me?”

She fluttered her eyes again, only this time they opened. “What happened?”

“Mike, that’s what happened. Are you okay?”

“I don’t know. My head hurts.” she reached up behind her head, and when she brought her hand around, their was a little blood that came back on her finger tips. “Oh, well I guess I should see a doctor, huh?”

Even injured, she still had a slight sense of humor. “Yeah, let my call my dad. I can have him meet us here, we will take you to the hospital and then call Charlie.”

I took out my cell and dialed Carlisle. He told me he would be here in a few minutes. I sat next to Bella, and we waited for my dad to show up. Even roughed up, she looked beautiful.

“How did you find me?” Bella asked.

“I was walking and heard a commotion. When I noticed it was you, I had to do something.” I looked away, sort of embarrassed. “I overheard you and Alice talking about today at school with Mike and what happened. I have to admit, it made me angry, so I went for a walk. And I am glad I did.”

I felt the heat rise to my face. I looked away.

“I’m glad you did too.” She smiled.

Within minutes, Carlisle pulled up. He helped me get her into the car and we drove to the hospital. While we were driving, I called Charlie and told him what happened, he said he would meet us there. He sounded very angry, which I expected him to.
“Okay Bella, we are here. Charlie is on his way.”

“Okay,” she said groggily. She seemed to be in and out of consciousness for most of the drive. I picked her up and carried into the emergency room. Carlisle told me where to take her and I placed her onto the bed that he had pointed out. Her sprawled across the pillow behind her, and I couldn’t help but push some of it behind her ear. I heard the door to the emergency room swing open and knew that it was Charlie. I saw him rush in, frantically looking for Bella.

“Charlie, she’s over here.” I pointed to the bed that she was in.

He walked over. “Edward, what happened to her?”

“It was Mike, sir. They had a fight in school today and he apparently wasn’t finished. I was walking when I heard the commotion, only to find him trying to drag her into the woods. I stopped him.”

“Thank you Edward. Would you stay with her for a moment, so that I can go call the office? I’m going to have them pick up Mike Newton.”

I sat next to her bed, watched as my dad looked at her head, and her other wounds. They took her back for a CT scan and also x-rays on her wrist. She became a little more coherent as time passed.

“Edward,” she whispered, “Thank you for helping me.”

I stood next to her side, “Your welcome. You should get some rest now.” I stroked her forehead, and brushed her hair back some more.

She nodded and smiled, then she closed her eyes. I sat there and waited for them to finish with her. Charlie came back and said that they took Mike into custody. Oh how I wanted to get my hands on him again.

I saw Carlisle walk in, “Charlie, she is ready to go home, but she needs to be monitored all night. She had a pretty hard hit to the head. She has a concussion.”

“Okay, thank you Carlisle.” Charlie said.

“No problem. I hope they get who did this.”

“We already did, he is in custody.” Charlie informed him.

“Good. She is too nice a girl to have this happen to her.”

I sat in the corner, fuming over the fact that I knew who had done this and how I would like to apply my own form of punishment. But I sat back and kept my mouth shut. After Bella was discharged, Charlie left to take her home. Carlisle came up to me and told me he was ready.

“Edward, you did a good thing tonight. I am proud of you son.”

“Thanks.” I didn’t feel proud, I felt anger, hatred, but I would watch put for Bella now. She won’t even know I am there. I will be her private protector.

Chapter 3

Oh, my head was pounding. I sat up, put my hand to my forehead. I was in my bed. Not sure about what time it was, or even what day. I felt the bandage on the back of my head, and the lump that went with it. What happened? I couldn’t remember everything. It was all so fuzzy. I remember arguing with Mike, and that’s about it. I climbed out of bed and went downstairs. I could hear the television in the living room and was sure Charlie was here. He was. He was in the kitchen, attempting to cook something on the stove.

“Hi, dad.” I watched him jump slightly, and then turn around.

“Oh, Bella. You’re awake. How are you feeling honey?”

“I don’t know. My head hurts. What happened?”

“You don’t remember?”

I shook my head. “I only remember talking to Mike, and him not letting me go. I don’t remember much after that.”

“Bella, I am so sorry that I made you go outside and talk to him. I didn’t know that there were any real problems going on.” I could see the guilt and the pain in his face. I walked over to him and hugged him.

“Dad, it’s okay. You didn’t know and I didn’t tell you. What happened with Mike?”

“He’s in jail honey. We picked him last night. It was a good thing Edward was taking a walk, otherwise only god knows what would have happened.”

I looked at him in shock, “Edward?”

“Yea, he was walking and overheard you guys. He ran at Mike, knocked him out of the way. Then he called Carlisle and they took you to the hospital.”

“Hmm…I guess I should go thank him, huh? I never would have thought…Edward.”

“Well, you should take it easy today. You need to rest.”

“Dad, I will be okay. I really should go thank him.”

“Okay, but you be careful. I have to go in to work today and see what we are going to do with Mike. Maybe you can stay at the Cullen’s for dinner. I don’t want you to be alone.”

“I’ll ask. Thank you dad.” I gave him a kiss on the cheek and went upstairs to shower. I left my house thirty minutes later and drove over to the Cullen’s. I knocked on there door and Alice answered.

“Oh my god, Bella. Are you okay?” She pulled me into a hug.

“Yes, I’m fine. How are you Alice?” We walked into the living room and sat on the couch.

“I’m good. I have been worried sick about you though.”

I smiled at her, “I’m okay. But I need to talk to Edward. I understand he had ahand in me being okay.”

“Yea, it was a good thing he was walking. Only god knows what would have happened otherwise.”

“Yea, I know. Where is he?”

“He is upstairs in his room. Go on up.”

I walked up the stairs and lightly knocked on his door. I heard him say come in so I opened up the door and stepped inside.

“Hi Edward.”

He looked up, startled to see me. “Bella.” He stood up and walked over to me, “How are you doing?”

“I’m fine, thank you. I understand I have you to thank for helping last night.”

“It was nothing. I just happened to be at the right spot at the right time.”

I stepped closer to him, “It was something. If it wasn’t for you, I could be lying in the woods right now, waiting for someone to find me. Thank you.”

He looked down to his feet, “You’re welcome.” When he looked up at me, I never realized how green his eyes truly were. They were mesmerizing. I leaned in a gave him a kiss on the cheek.

I saw the slight shade of pink form in his cheeks. “Well, I guess I better go talk to Alice now.”

“Okay.” I started to walk out the door when he called my name, “Bella?” I stopped and turned around. I didn’t realize that he was right behind me. He didn’t say anything, he just looked at me. Before I realized what was happening, his hands were on my waist, and his lips pressed to mine. They were soft, warm. I couldn’t find myself to want this to stop, so I did the obvious, I put my arms around his neck. I pushed my fingers into his hair and pulled him closer. I felt the sensations run through me, ones that I have never felt before, not even with Mike. He pulled back first, I stood there, dumbfounded.

“I’m sorry Bella. I’m so sorry.”

“Um…okay. Don’t be. Wow.” I couldn’t even make a coherent sentence. “I’m going to go now. Thank you again, Edward.”

He just nodded and went back towards his bed. I walked to Alice’s room. She was sitting on her bed, listening to the radio and reading a fashion magazine.

When she looked up at me, a puzzled look crossed her face, “Bella, are you okay?”

“I think so.” I looked at her, “Your brother just kissed me.”

She giggled, “He what?”

“Yeah, I thanked him and then he kissed me.”

“Wow, that is pretty gutsy, for him I mean.”

“Wow is right. I never thought of him like that, but man can he kiss.”
Alice just giggled at me, but I had a whole new wave of feelings flow through me, for someone I never thought of that way. I didn’t know what to do or what to think.

“Oh Alice, my dad wanted to know if maybe I cold stay here for dinner tonight. He has to work and I don’t think he wants me left alone right now.”

“Sure, I’m sure mom and dad won’t mind. I think were grilling too. Yummy.”

I smiled. She was so quirky sometimes, but I was glad she was my friend. We hung out in her room for awhile before it was time to eat. We went downstairs, and this was the first time that I felt awkward being there, by Edward. And I wasn’t sure how to deal with that.

Edward walked over to me and tapped me on the shoulder. “Bella?”

I turned around and my stomach fluttered, “Yes!”

“Can we talk? I need to talk to you.”

“Sure.” I looked around the room for Alice, but she was occupied. I followed him out the back door. We went to the far back of the yard where Esme had put in a very beautiful flower garden. There was a bench in the center of it, and you could smell the aroma of the flowers that bloomed colorfully. He motioned for me to sit down, but yet he paced the ground in front of me.

“Edward, is something wrong?”

“Bella, I have something I want to tell you, but please don’t stop me until I am done. This is taking me a lot to say.”

I nodded for him to continue. “Bella, about that kiss earlier, I am sorry, but yet I’m not. I have liked you ever since you moved here, but I knew you were too good for me.” I frowned at his assumption but let him continue. “It was very hard for me to see you with Mike, and then to know he hurt you, I was angry. Then to see what he did to you last night, I wanted to kill him. But I knew I needed to take care of you first.” He stopped in front of me. “I just wanted you to know that.”

I didn’t know quite what to say, so I sat there. I saw Edward become nervous, waiting for a reply, I’m sure. “I knew I shouldn’t have said anything. I’m sorry Bella.”

I stood up and walked over to him, “Edward, don’t be sorry. I just wish you could have talked to me earlier. I am a little upset, “ I saw the frown cross his face, “but not because you said you liked me, but because you said I was too good for you. I don’t feel that way.” I touched his arm. “Edward, I wish you felt you could have told me this earlier. I’ve just never thought of this way.”

I saw the crease form between his eyebrows, the frown form on his face, “Yea, I know. I have always been the brother of your best friend.”

“Edward, that doesn’t mean that I can’t think of you that way. I just never have.” I saw his face lighten slightly, he looked at me. I looked into his eyes, how piercing they were. It was like they could read my soul. I don’t know how it happened, but I leaned forward, put my hand in his hair and drew him close. I pressed my lips to his, gently at first, then with more passion. He put his hands around my waist and pulled me closer. I could feel his muscles ripple under his shirt. I never knew that he was so built. I pressed my tongue to the edge of his lips, he opened his mouth. I found our tongues intertwined, my hand pulling at his hair, and the urgency in our kiss. I wanted more, but knew I had put a stop to this. I definitely didn’t want to rush anything. I pulled back. I looked at him, his eyes were glassy looking. I’m sure I looked the same.

“Oh, sorry. I guess I got carried away.” I giggled.

“Um, no, it’s okay. Please feel free to do THAT anytime.” He smiled at me.

“Well, how about we try to hang out first, and then see where that goes. Maybe we can go to dinner and a movie sometime.”

“I’d like that.”

“Okay then.” I took a deep breath and sighed. I had feelings awakened in me and it was very hard to turn away from them. I took Edward’s hand and we walked back to the house like that. I was curious to see how this would turn out.

I laid in my bed thinking of the days events. First, I kissed Bella Swan, and she didn’t slap me. Second, she kissed me, with more intensity. Third, she wants to hang out and sort of go on dates. I felt giddy, happy. This is something I have wanted to have happen for so long now, and it looks like it might. She woke deeper feelings in me that I didn’t know I had in me, and they were all for her. I would show her how she should be treated. Thank you Mike for screwing things up with you and her. I chuckled lightly, to myself. I heard a knock on my door.

“Come in.”

It was Alice, “Hey Edward. Can we talk?”

“Sure, come on in. What’s up?”

“Bella told me you kissed her today. Is that true?”

I blushed slightly, “Yea, why?”

“I was just wondering. What are your feelings towards her?”

“Alice, I am in love with her. I have been since she moved here. I just never said anything because I thought she was always too good for me.”

“Edward, you should never think that about anyone. You are good enough for her, you are good enough for anyone. Sometimes, too good.”

“Thanks Alice. I talked to her and told her how I felt. She said we would hang out for awhile, see where it goes, and take it from there.”

“Cool. I am so happy for you. I know you two will be good together. Just take it slow.”

“I know. Thanks.”

She said goodnight and left. I knew what I had to do to sweep her off her feet. And I would take it slow.
