The Twilight Saga

Hi All!

Hoping you're well and slowly healing from the grief of the final installment of the movies being released last November!

On that note, I saw today on a Twilight fan page on facebook, something about Midnight Sun the movie coming out late this year!?  Eeeeeyyy?

Is this someone's pipe dream or is it really happening?  I'm sure plenty of you Twihards out there are keen to know either way, and I'm sure many of you will know more about this than me.

I'm wanting to get the facts before I get my hopes up, but it doesn't sound right.   Wouldn't there have been a Summit press release or something on Stephenie's page about this!?!?

Can anyone clarify?!

Ta muchly and happy Twilighting...I'm dusting off the books and starting from scratch again!

I want someone to put this rumor to rest too! Does anyone have any info on this? I would think Stephanie would have some news on her page but she never updates it. Has she forgotten about us fans? :(

I did find this but when you click on the (see the first Midnight Sun movie poster) it says it is a joke for April Fools. Thanks a lot screenrant for the wild fire rumor!

Hahaha...yep...sounds about right!

I'll wait until the news comes from the horse's mouth before I get excited! ;)

I do not think there would be a Midnight Sun movie made without Stephenie's involvement and if she were involved information would be on her website.  The last comment that I heard her make regarding Twilight is that she is over it, and doesn't have a desire to reenter the Twilight world anytime soon.

In an interview with Variety about her career, the novelist-turned-producer says she gets “further away every day” from the blockbuster book and film series.

“I am so over it,” continues Meyer. “For me, it’s not a happy place to be.”

Meyer admits the door isn’t completely closed.

“What I would probably do is three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died,” she says, adding, “I’m interested in spending time in other worlds.”

Meyer is in the midst of promoting the Keri Russell film Austenland, the first movie to be released from her production company, Fickle Fish

Full interview

On the topic of Midnight Sun - the book

Meyer told the BBC, while promoting the release of her upcoming the film The Host, that once the Twilight movies began opening in theaters, she couldn’t continue to write Midnight Sun.

“It wasn’t something that I was in the middle of working on,” she said. “It was a project that I had been doing before. But I was working on the movies at that time and finishing up the last novel, and I was able to do that last novel without interference mentally from the film and the actors being the characters. But I could feel it seeping in more and more, and I wasn’t able to really get into the characters completely separate from the movie anymore, so it didn’t really feel like I could write it at that point, because it was a little tainted by that other vision.”

So basically the Edward that was in her head when she first wrote Twilight is gone and therefore so is his "voice".  For that reason Meyers does not want to finish Midnight Sun.

Completely agree and thought same.

Seeing posts on Facebook over and over about Midnight Sun made me second guess myself.

But I don't think she'll make Midnight Sun book or movie either.

I'm glad I'm not alone in this!  It'd be great if they did, but it sounds unlikely :)

Happy New Year!

“What I would probably do is three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died,” she says, adding, “I’m interested in spending time in other worlds.”

I don't know why, but that statement really made me angry at her when I read it. We (fans) deserve better.

Yeah....I hear you!  It's hard to hear that she's saying things like she's over it and lost the passion to write about that world anymore :(  I'll be very surprised if another movie is made, but we can continue to hope and dream :)

Anyone who has read anything from Stephenie Meyers knows that she can't ONLY write three paragraphs. :)

I also believe that IF Stephenie does something she does it completely.  I see her as somewhat of a perfectionist.  As a writer she has lost her "spark" for the Twilight world and she has the right to do that.  She needs the freedom to move on.

Exactly....I totally agree :)

It's why she's not committing to anything.
Why go back there if she's lost the passion?  Doesn't make sense :)

I'm content with the world she's created for now - and like I said, thank goodness we can go back to the books and movies whenever we need to 'top ourselves up' on the world of Bella and Edward :)

I sure hope there is a movie!!!! I cry myself to sleep because it feels over!

At least it was a good ending to the story. I can be at peace with that. It's just when I read Midnight Sun I want to know more about Edward and what he was thinking. :(

Yes...great ending :)

Breaking Dawn was my favourite book, so I was stoked with how the movie(s) came together :)

I did start grieving at the end though.  No more Twilight world to look forward to!!

Nothing's even come close to grab my attention like the Twilight Saga did.
Thank goodness we can go back and watch the movies and read the books over and over! :D
