Chapter 3

When I woke up. I was all groggy and found my self on some bed.

I sat up trying to remember what happened. I remembered taking sparky out for a walk and then tripping and falling. Then I remembered the guy embry helping me. But that’s it.

I looked at my foot it was all wrapped up. I tried to get up but it hurt so I hopped on one leg to the door, but then embry met me at the door.

“You know you should rest you twisted your ankle really badly”

He helped me steady myself.

I felt really comfortable in his arms. As I noticed what I was thinking I pulled away a little bit to not be so close.

“Well you could come to the living room, I could make breakfast and then I could take you home.”

“Ok” I said I smiled

Embry helped me down the stairs and to the couch. When we got down there I was attacked by sparky.

“Hey buddy”

He licked my face all over

“You got a really good dog he’s sweet”

“Thanks. Do you mind if I call my fiancé. I just don’t want him to be worried”

“Yeah sure the phones right next to you”

I looked over and dialed my phone number. It rang a couple of times, and then it went to voicemail. I called again twice but still no answer.

“No answer?” embry asked when her came back into the room

“Nope. Guess I’ll just tell him what happened when I get home”

“That you saved by a wonderful guy, and then had cereal with him on his couch”

“Cereal, really that’s all you know how to make? “

“yep cereal and eggs. You’re just amazed but my cooking skills, aren't you?”

“Yes completely amazed” I teased as he brought our bowls of cereal out to the couch

“So tell me about your self” I asked as we started eating

“Well my name is embry, umm I’m 22 and I live alone. What about you?”

“well I don’t have to give you my name cause we already meet. I live with my fiancé hunter. I am also 22, And the jerk of a guy kidnapped me and is making me lucky charms like a crazy big kid”

“Heyy!! First of all I didn’t kidnap you, you were hurt and I saved you. And second these aren’t lucky charms there fruit loops. I’m definitely a big kid though”

“Yeah obviously“

I pointed to the collection of Disney movies he had in the coroner.

“What you know that most of them are pretty good. But I have to but the DVDs because people think im weird when I see Disney movie by myself with no kids”

I chuckled

“Well maybe next time I’ll come one with you next time”

He smiled

“That would be cool”

“Well I’m glad we kind of friends”

“Yeah me too”

I felt butterflies in my stomach.

“Well I guess it’s time for me to take you home, come on I think I have some crutches in the closet”

I felt kind of upset that I was leaving. But I knew if I didn’t go home soon hunter would be angry. Well angrier then he already gonna be.

He went into his closet and rummages through it.

“Found it!” he yelled from the closet

“Come on” he helped me up and on the crutches. Once I got the hang of the crutches I went out to the car while embry followed behind me making sure I didn’t fall.

Once we were both in the car we started driving.

“So tell me about hunter”

“Well he’s a nice guy, I meet him in college. We went out a while later and been inseparable ever since.”

“Well that nice”

Embry looked a little disappointed.

“Well we’re here”

He said stopping the car

“Thank you so much for taking care of me”

“Anytime and maybe we can go and see some Disney movie”

He smiled. And my stomach fluttered.

He got out of the car and made it to my side to help me out. Sparky hopped out as soon as he opened the door and ran right into hunter who was at the door.

“Hey sweetheart, what happened?”

He asked acting concerned while embry was there

“I tripped and twisted my ankle walking the dog last night and then embry here found me and helped me out”

Embry looked at the ground embarrassed. Hunter shot me a glare. I knew I was in trouble.

“Well that was nice, thank you for taking care of her”

“I’ll see you later. Thank you again for taking care of me”

“Your welcome. I’ll talk to you later”

I walked into the house. And looked out the window until embry was gone then turned around and got punched in the face.

“What the hell violet you disappear, all night then come home with some other guy”

I was lying on the floor as hunter started to kick me.

“What do you think your doing trying to make a fool out of me? “

He came really close to my face. I could smell the alcohols on his breathe.

“If you ever see him again I’ll do worse then this”

After that hunter walked away and left me on the floor again. The same way I was last night. Luckily there was no burse from that I hate making up stuff but I have to. Even thought hunter beats me deep down I know he’s still that sweet guy that helped me pick up all my stuff the first day of college. And I still love him. But in the corner of my mind I thought about how much fun I had with embry just this morning. Teasing each other like we were old friends. Even though hunter told me not to see embry I think I will hang out with him he’s a lot of fun.

What a psycho! How long will it take for her to realise she has to get way from him? Embry is a much better choice, and he could protect her from him!

Chapter 4

Embry’s point of view

I went to sam and Emily's house after dropping off violet. Spending time with her was amazing. She made me laugh the whole time I was with her. It was like we’ve been friends for years instead of days. Violet was on my mind the whole way over.

When I got to Sam's the guys were already there.

“Where were you last night?” sam asked

“yeah you missed patrol” Jared said

“sorry guys. I had to do something”

“Well it must have been really important If you had to miss patrol. Was it violet?”

A huge smile spread across my face.

“So what you guys do then” they asked

“We didn’t do anything she twisted he ankle last night and I helped her out. That it”

All of the sudden I felt a slap on the back of my head.

“That better be it embry” Emily said.

“She’s engaged em. We’re just friends”
I said with another smile. Liking the idea of having her as a friend.

“Yeah em’ you know embry’s not like that” sam commented

“It better not be like that “she retorted

“don’t worry em’ I would never do that.” I said

“Fine”

She said. She turned around and walked away Grumbling under her breath.

After that the pack went outside for our patrol. Since patrol is three hours long all I could do is think about violet. After my shift was over I went over to violet’s house still wolf form so I couldn’t go too close.

I could see her in the kitchen cleaning dishes. She was crying, I could tell from the distance she had read eyes and her cheek were all wet. Why is this beautiful girl crying?

Then I noticed something else. She had a dark circle around her cheek. What the hell happened?

Her fiancé hunter came in and started talking. You could tell that he was yelling she flinched as he came closer. Then I connected it together. Did he do this to her? I could feel the anger through my body. All I wanted to do was go in there and rip his head off.

But then someone came from behind me, it was sam in wolf form.

What’s going on? He thought

“Violet’s asswhole of a fiancé abuses her.” I growled towards the house.

“You don’t wait to do anything you will regret, ok well watch her tonight and you can talk to her tomorrow.” I didn’t like the idea of her staying there with the guy. But I knew that sam wouldn’t let me do anything else.

“Fine.”

I grumbled we laid there for the rest of the night. Hunter didn’t touch violet for the night. Once he went to sleep upstairs, violet laid down on the couch but didn’t sleep for hours. She went to the kitchen and poured milk in a mug and heated it up. We did the same thing when we couldn’t sleep. I love that I have something in common with her.

Once her milk was done she went back to the living room and turned the TV to a movie channel. She was Watching monster’s inc. one of my favorite Disney movies. I smiled as she watched the movie and laughed at all the jokes like it was her first time watching them.

By the end of the movie it was about 4 in the morning and she was sleep.

“I think we should go” I turned to look at him surprised

“Why would we do that? He might hurt her”

“If you wanna go fine I’ll stay here till the morning and then talk to her”

“come on dude she’ll be fine don’t worry. Sitting here and watching her sleep is not going to do anything”

I knew that he was right . she was sleeping and I could go home and sleep so I can help her tomorrow.

“I know how you feel. How you just don’t want to be away from her. That if you’re gone too long it will just hurt so badly that it feels like someone’s punching you in the stomach over and over again.”

He told me through our heads. And I knew that he was right I really can’t be too far from her. Thank god that I just live five minutes away if you drive. Ten if you walk and 2 if I run wolf form.

“You right. Let’s go” I stood up still in my wolf form. Looked back at violet sleeping. Looking amazing. Wondering why someone would want to hurt her beautiful face.

“I’ll see you later ok” I ran back to my house as he turned and ran to his.

I leave extra close outside for myself when I get off of my shift. I got changed and went into my house. It was already 6 in the morning. So I can have about three hours of sleep and then talk to violet. I went to sleep thinking of violet, loving the way he’s always on my mind.

Once I woke up I slept a lot longer then I expected. It was already 2:30. I got up, got in the shower got dressed and called violet to see if she wanted to come over. The phone rang a few times, and then she picked up.

“Hello” she answered, her voice was amazing. She sounded kind of sad

“Hey violet it’s embry”

“Embry!” she cheered up. It made my heart leap.

“Hey I was wondering if you wanted to come over”

She hesitated I knew why “umm... Embry I’m not sure if I can”

“Come on violet we can watch some Disney movies. You own me that”

She giggled “ok embry sure. I’ll be over in ten minutes” I could hear her smiling through the phone.

“Ok see you soon"

I couldn’t wait to see her. I would protect her no matter what she says

it's great chapter, I thought you put over Embry's point of view really well.

I hope he does manage to help her and doesn't send her running away from him.

aww vless those two are so sweet together. I hope that Voiler gets away from Hunter though, he does not deserve her like Embry does

Now Embry knows her secret, but she doesn't know he knows, and she doesn't know his secret either. He will have to be very careful when he approaches her, and not drive her away or make things worse when he tries to protect her.

Chapter 5

Violets point of view

After getting off the phone with embry I went into my bedroom and looked in the mirror I had to huge bruises on my face and sides. I put some make-up on my face knowing embry would ask questions if I didn’t.

I went down stairs to look and see what hunter was doing. He was in the kitchen taking out a beer. It was about 11 in the morning so it was his first beer of the day. so that was good.

“Im going to see Emily’s.” I told him. I knew that if I told him I was going to see embry I would have more bruise. He grunted in response. I took my chance to leave quickly before hunter tried to make me stay. I jumped my car and made my way to embry’s house. Once I was there I went and knocked on the door. A second later embry came to the door. A huge grin plastered on his face.

“Hey violet come on in” he said. But in his voice I can tell that there was something wrong. Something was off.

“Hey so what’s this about?”

He didn’t answer.

“Embry. Hello embry” he stood there and looked like he was in deep thought

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“What are you talking about? I thought we were gonna watch some Disney movie. This is gonna be-“

“Stop talking” he interrupted me. “Why didn’t you tell me he abuses you” he said slowly in a whisper.

I froze. How did he know? I thought I covered my face? I ran to the mirror to check. You couldn’t see anything. So how did he know? I’ve been doing so well with covering up.

Embry came over to me and slowly lifted my chin and started wiping off the make-up. Once he found a bruise he gasped. A tear rolled down my face and then another one as he found more bruises. After that the tears just came freely. As embry noticed what was happening he embraced me in his huge arms. As I kept crying. By the time I finished crying embry had a mixture of make up and tears on his shirt. I stood up straight and looked at him.

“How did you know?” I asked the only question I really needed the answer to be answered.

“Do you want to stay here?” I was caught off guard by his question.

“I mean you can get away from him. And make sure he stays away. While he's leaving you can stay here so you’re safe. I just don’t want you to be hurt anymore”

“Why do you care so much? You have known me what a week and a half.”

“Do you really think it’s that bad that someone cares about you?”

“If I leave hunter I have no one and nothing. My parent died when I was younger and if I leave him then I’ll be all alone.”

“You won’t be alone. I can be with you. You can stay here for awhile”

“Embry I cant do that. I love him. And even though that sounds like the craziest thing in the world I do. And I’m not leaving him.” he winced at my comment, and then sighed.

“Fine but if he hit you again, I swear I will take you out of there and then kill him”

“Thank you embry. But please don’t tell anyone.” He winced again.

“Fine” he whispered “do you want to stay? Watch a movie?”

I looked at the clock. It was almost three. I knew that hunter would be looking for me.

“I cant I’ve been gone too long. Plus he told me not to hang out with you anymore.”

I could see angrier flash through embry’s eyes.

“Ok well I guess I’ll see you later then”

“Yeah maybe we can finally watch those Disney movies that we were suppose to.”

“Mhm sure”

“Um ok then I see ya”

I said walking out the door.

“Bye” was all he said then walked back inside the house.

I felt like he was mad at me. I didn’t like the feeling of him being mad at me so I went back up to his door and pounded on his door. He came to the door and opened it with a confused look on his face.

“What the hell did you do to me?”

“What are you talking about?” still having no clue why I was mad.

“I feel bad that you mad at me. And I just don’t get it. This is happening to me not you. And I feel bad that you found out lord know how. And I don’t understand why. Why do I care so much what you think of me? Why do I love being with you, being close to you. This doesn’t make any sense. I should feel this way. I shouldn’t be worrying about how your feeling. I should wanting to do these thing with my soon to be husband. Not some guy I just met almost two weeks ago.”

Once I finished my rant. I stared breathing really hard. Embry took me in his arms again but I pushed him away. In his eye he looked guilty.

“Embry what aren’t you telling me? Do you know why I feel this way” I said raising my voice.

“Calm down violet”

“I DON’T WANT CALM DOWN. I WANT YOU TO TELL THE TRUTH. WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT TELLING ME THE TRUTH? IS IT SOME KIND OF-” I was cut off by embry’s lips pressing mine. I wanted to pull away but I loved the way it felt. I never felt this way with hunter. He barely touched me anymore unless he was betting me. I never wanted to let go. Then I came back to reality and pulled back

“Im sorry... I have to go”

And with that I walked out the door before embry could say anything and ran to my car driving back home crying my eyes out. I knew that I couldn’t be with embry because hunter would never let me go.
