We all knew that Robert Pattinson was due to start filming ‘The Rover’ early 2013 but there has been no confirmation of the actual start date. Although we still don’t have concrete information, thanks to Inside Film we certainly have a better idea of timelines.  It looks like filming is due to start on the 24 January (next week) with wrap up sometime late March.  Fingers crossed we’ll start getting some behind the scenes and set pictures through very soon :)

#23 – The Rover

Synopsis: A dirty and dangerous near-future western set in the Australian desert.

Why We’re Looking Forward To It: The last time Guy Pearce starred in a Australian western we got John Hillcoat‘s fantastic The Proposition. This time around, we’ve got Animal Kingdom director David Michod, Robert Pattinson (proving his talent in David Cronenberg‘sCosmopolis), the underappreciated Scoot McNairy (Killing Them Softly, Argo, Monsters) and a near-future setting — it’s safe to say we’re quite excited. With a shoot gearing up in a few months, we hope this one will make it to theaters before the year’s end. – Jordan R.

Guess who's back to work?

Robert Pattinson (the indomitable Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga), after making anappearance at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, has arrived to Adelaide, Australia to begin working on his next project, The Rover.

According to Adelaide Now, Pattinson was scoped out by a few resourceful fans and greeted at the airport.

Pattinson previously spoke up about the film - in which he's expected to portray a car thief opposite Guy Pearce - to IndieWire, calling it "a kind of a western" which also happens to be "very existential."

"It's really interesting," he said. "I couldn't really explain to you what it's about but it's sort of about how much pain can the world take and how much disgust and cruelty before love dies. I think that's kind of what it's about."

This is Pattinson's first filming project since 2011, when he worked on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1,The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 and David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis.

Werner Herzog’s QUEEN OF THE DESERT with Robert Pattinson might be postponed

Naomi-Watts-naomi-watts-4894937-1024-768

Naomi Watts who said that, when the shooting of this biopic about Gertrude Bell should start in March.

With a casting including Robert Pattinson as Lawrence of Arabia, Naomi Watts as Gertrude Bell and Jude Law in a undetermined role, QUEEN OF THE DESERT was likely to catch our intention , our curiosity and our impatience . Especially since the director is Werner Herzog. One of the greatest director of our time who, for the previous years, was more busy doing his excellent documentaries than shooting his movies. So to see him going back to shoot feature films, four years after My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done ( never released in France) and three years after the crazy Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, was a real delight.

However QUEEN OF THE DESERT won’t finally be shot very soon, even if the first steps of the cinematography should have started in March . It’s Naomi Watts who revealed those discouraging news about the project, first when she declared to E ! Online : « It’s still a way’s off. I don’t know yet. Hopefully, it will happen. I just can’t travel again right now because I did a lot of traveling last year. It’s been a big year and it’s time for me to be home with the kids.“ » She also told MTV (via The Playlist), while promoting TWO MOTHERS at Sundance film festival “we’ll see if it happens later this year or next year “. Moreover, she assesses that Robert Pattinson wouldn’t be 100% confirmed for the casting…

We’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope everything’ll be fine. Don’t forget QUEEN OF THE DESERT is about the work of both Lawrence and Bell at the beginning of the 20th century to reinforce Hachemites’ power in Jordan and Irak. They did it in order to help the French and English interests against the Ottoman Empire in this area.

Guy Pearce About Rob On The Rover: “He’s Really Right For The Role”

f2ikk

Hollywood Life caught up with Rob’s The Rover costar Guy Pearce, while he was at Sundance promoting his latest film “Breathe In.” He had plenty to say about Rob!

“He just seems like a bright and sensitive kid,” Guy tells us. “So I just think he’s really right for the role.”

We told Guy, who has starred in movies like The Kings Speech, Memento, Lawless and the upcoming Iron Man 3, that we bet Rob thinks it’s pretty cool to work with such an experienced actor.

“Um I don’t know, hopefully he thinks so!” Guy says. “I think it’s about collaborating and all getting on the same page. It doesn’t matter how experienced or inexperienced someone is, you hopefully just all understand each other and realize you are all on the same film together.

We can’t wait to see them together on the big screen.

British singer Amelia Lily talks about Robert Pattinson

Amelia Lily-SPX-049892-horz

She’s probably met her fair share of celebrities, but no one has impressed Amelia Lily quite as much as Robert Pattinson.

The 18-year-old singer has admitted that she ‘couldn’t stop staring at him’ when she came face-to-face with him at the ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn: Part Two’ premiere in London last year.

When asked by OK! magazine who her dream date would be, Amelia replied: “Robert Pattinson. At the ‘Twilight’ premiere he was inches away from me.

“I was getting interviewed and all these journalists were laughing at me because I couldn’t stop staring at him. He was getting interviewed and I didn’t want to distract him, but he was beautiful.”
