Preface:
Edward has been gone for months. He wasn't coming back. and i wasn't going to sit around and wait, waste away. I had to leave. Everything. everything.

Chapter 1- Goodbyes
Life had become too painful. I had given up hope long ago of Edward coming back for me. 3 months had passed and things weren’t getting any better. Even my best friend Jacob had lost hope in me. Every night I would lie in my bed, clutching my chest so it wouldn’t fall to pieces. I would lie like that all night, protecting my broken heart.

School would pass by in a flurry, a blur but still long torture. I would sit in class spacing off, while the teachers tried to get my attention. But nothing could bring me back to reality, I was far too gone into my love, my life. It felt like life had come to an end.
Despite Charlie’s protesting I had decided to leave for Jacksonville. This may be one way, If I wanted to try to get any better.

“Bella, I know things are hard, now, but I’m sure they’ll get better.” Charlie pleaded.

“Charlie, I know what’s best for me. And staying here in Forks is certainly not going to help.” We had had this conversation many times before, but now was the time I planned on leaving, driving all the way to Jacksonville.

We were by the front door, my suitcases in my hand. Charlie gripped the end of one, an attempt to pull me back. “Please Bells.” He pleaded again with sorrow filled eyes. “Don’t leave me again.”

As he said that it only made me want to run into his arms and comfort him. But this was my life at stake and I needed to do what was best for me.

“No Charlie, I’m not leaving you, just doing what’s best for me.” And with tear filled eyes I ran to my car. God….. All I ever did was cry these days.
I pulled open the car door with such force I was afraid it would come off its hinges. I hopped into the truck and slammed the rusty door shut.

As the car rumbled to life I chanced a glance back to the house. I saw Charlie Peering out the window with tears rolling down his face. I shook my head trying to remember this is what is best, this is what is best. With that I threw my suitcases into the backseat and backed out of the driveway.

Chapter 6- Dream
Bella POV

Sleep came quickly. I must not have noticed how tired I was. But then again, I lost track of all things when I was around Adam. I sighed as I thought his name.

I soon found myself standing on a white circular platform. Everything else around me was black. I turned in circles over and over again. I didn’t know where was up, and where was down. Where was I?

I decided to take a leap of faith and take a step forward. At that moment everything around me disappeared, swirling around me. Then the blackness that had consumed me was replaced by bright blinding colors, everywhere. They were each boxes, outlined in a blurry white line, circling me. Getting closer every second. I felt the urge to scream.

I opened my mouth but nothing formed. I was getting panicked again. Everywhere I looked the colors blinded my, blurring my vision. I fell to the floor, unable to see or think straight. I moved one hand forward when everything around me became no longer boxes, but a circular tube, a mix of colors. I didn’t know how long I was inside of there, but all of a sudden it all disappeared.

I was in the back seat of a car; in front of me was a brunette, her hair falling down to her waist. She was in a jacket, several sizes too big for her. She was facing the drivers seat, that drew my attention. I turned an sought what she saw, in the seat was the most beautiful boy I had seen since I woke up, more gorgeous than even Adam. But that was hardly possibly.

He had bronze tussled hair, like Adams. I remembered when I made that comparison, and it clicked in my head. I knew this guy. But how? I’ve never seen him in my life, until now. I tried to get his attention, calling, “hey you!” over and over again. But he didn’t seem to hear me, neither did the brunette. What was going on? Why am I being ignored?
They were deep in conversation. Only then did I realize it. “-And he was telling me some old legends – trying to scare me I think. He told me one. . .” The brunette hesitated.

“Go on.” Said the boy

“About Vampires.” She whispered. She glanced at the steering wheel. The boy’s hands were gripping the wheel, his knuckles tightening.

Vampires? There were no such thing. They were a myth, legend, imaginary. I sat there, in the back seat spacing off, deep I thought. I decided to listen in on their conversation again.

“You don’t care if I’m a monster? If I’m not human?” The boy had a hard edge to his voice. She must have been talking about him. But if he was a vampire, why hadn’t he killed her yet? All these unanswered questions bounced around in my head. I leaned up, going to tap the bronze haired boy on the shoulder when my surroundings shifted again.

I was in the forest, staring at the same two people I saw in the car. They were facing each other, deep in conversation again. The girls face was heartbroken, her eyes looked like they were about to brim over in tears. And there in front of her was the bronze haired god. I sighed, he was so perfect. I felt like he should be mine, but also that he already was. There was no way to describe him now. He looked. . . Lifeless. There was no emotion on his face. His lips moved quickly as he was talking to the girl.

The boy shook his head slowly. “No. They are all gone. I stayed behind to tell you goodbye.” Goodbye? Why would he be leaving her? This made no sense. In the car he was trying to protect her from himself. But now, he’s hurting her. With every word he spoke the girls face was draining of emotion.

“Alice is gone?” She said blankly. She said it as more of a statement than a question.

“She wanted to say goodbye, but I convinced her that a clean break would be better.” From the girls facial expression, Alice must have been close to her. She blanked out, in memory. Her breathing became unsteady.

“Goodbye, Bella,” He said in a quiet voice.

I wanted to cry. . . . But why? This wasn’t my story, and it didn’t seem like it was going to end this way. . . Not for forever at least.

Just as he was about to turn and leave Bella yelled “Wait!” while reaching out to him.

All of a sudden his chalky white hands were pinning Bella’s wrists to her side. He leaned down to her, lightly pressing his lips to her forehead. Bella’s eyes closed.

“Take care of yourself.” He breathed. He disappeared, a gentle breeze taking his place.

Bella started to wobble after him, her legs about to give out any moment. I started to run to her, hoping to catch her if she fell, but I was starting to be whisked away again by the blinding lights. The vision I was seeing started to get blurrier and blurrier as I was lifted up into the air.

“No! let me go to her!” I yelled at the vortex of swirling colors. I tried to jump but it did me no good. It only sucked me back to it. “Bella!” I tried to yell down to her. “Bell-” I was cut off but landing back where I had first arrived., the white platform.
I took a step forward again, hoping it would bring me back to her. And it did. But instead of being an onlooker, I was trapped inside of Bella. And to my surprise, I seemed to belong there. With all her memories, feelings, even her name. They all reminded me of me.

As I thought that last thought I was jerked out of my sleep.

My eyes flew open. I glanced all around, making sure I was back to reality. I was. I heard the monitor beeping, and white covered every inch of the room. I sighed, back to somewhere familiar at least. I tried to remember what I had dreamt about. But I couldn’t remember anything. I let it go, I don’t always remember dreams, though this one had seemed important.

I wiped the back of my free hand along my forehead. It was clammy, but felt oddly cold. That was strange. I looked down at my hand, there was a scar, shaped like a cressent. I put it up to my cheek, it was the same temperature as my forehead. I shuttered. So many strange things had been happening lately.

I relaxed every muscle in my boy, my head leaning back into the pillows. I closed my eyes and waited on Adam’s return.
