ChApTeR OnE:  Teardrops…

“I can’t believe this!” I screamed. Tears ran down my face. Fast and hot.

“Stupid dirty liar!” I pushed passed him running out of the house.

“Bella wait!” He called after me.

I just kept running. I didn’t know where I was going but I didn’t care. He broke my heart. I trusted him and he broke my heart. I could feel it when I found out. I could feel the empty hole. I never felt anything like this before. I never felt so lost physically and emotionally. He’s gonna pay. Pay big time.

It was dark outside. They moon was whole above me and the stars twinkled. Why is it when I’m in pain the world isn’t?

I pushed through the trees not caring as blood trickled down my arms and legs. It was cold night and I was only wearing short shorts and a tank top. I had forgotten my jacket and cell phone at the jerks house. I couldn’t call my dad to pick me up. Where ever I was. I started to wander around blindly looking for a road. It was probably around 3:00 in the morning.

When I finally found one. I started walking. The cold air kind of felt good. My hair blew mindlessly through it. I breathed in. It still stung. He cheated on me with my best friend. I can’t believe Alice would do this. Alice Cullen of all people. I never should have trusted Jasper. I knew he was bad. Everyone told me he was bad news. But I didn’t care. I was in love with him. But now I know. He’s just like his sister Rosalie Hale. All snobby B’s.

As car pulled over beside me. A man in a black leather coat and blond hair tied up on a neck pony tail sat in the driver seat with a woman who had fiery red hair and crimson eyes. It was kind of strange. They both looked a lot alike with the paleness, blinding beauty and crimson eyes but yet different.

“Need a lift little girl?” When I heard that voice. It sent chills down my spine. His voice was deep. The kind that made you think that there was something wrong here.

I shook my head. “No.”

“I’m fine.”

I left it at that and kept walking down the road. The man was bad.  The car followed me about 20 meters. I stopped and it pulled up next to me again.

“Are you sure, sweet heart?” This time the woman spoke. There was no difference it there voices. They were both flat with no emotion attached to them. They sounded almost dead.

“I’m fine.” I said again. Quickening my pace.

But they still kept following me. That when I broke into a sprint down the road. I ran into something. Something cold and hard. I looked up to see the man.

“Hello, Bella. My name is James. I’m going to kill you.” He told me.

He then leaned in real close to my ear and whispered. “I’ll make it as painless as I can.” You could hear the smirk in his voice. The dead smirk.

My heart pumped with adrenaline. Fear washed over me. I tried not to show it. ‘Never show that you are afraid because fear is a weakness and anyone can sniff it out.’ My uncle once told me that. I didn’t believe him until now.

“Are you afraid, Bella?” James asked me.

I swallowed hard and shook my head. He circled me like he was looking for a right spot to start off. The I wondered where the woman was.

“Where’s the lady.” I asked him my voice shaky.

He looked at me still smiling and still circling me. “Oh, Victoria gone. She went to go get food for herself. I told you were mine.”

“Are you ready, Bella?”

“You smell appetizing.”

I took an unsteady breath. Was I really going to die like this? I figured differently though. Like I would die at the age of 91 sleeping in my bed. Not at 13 and in the middle of nowhere. I wasn’t really sure if the man would kill me. Most human boast about things they can’t even do. But when I looked at him deep flashing crimson eyes I knew this man meant business.

I saw him stop and smile again more profound now. He pounced at me and I shut my eyes tight not wanting to see him killing me. But then the seconds ticked by. 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds and then finally it reached 30 seconds. I swear he would have at least made me bleed by now. Well, bleed more that I already have.

I slightly opened my eyes. That’s when I saw him. He was as pale as James and Victoria, as beautiful as them. No, more. But his eyes weren’t red they were honey golden. It made my insides melt just to look at him. Who was he? This angel.

“Your safe now Bella.” He told me and I believed him. I believed him to the fullest.

I nodded at him. “Who are you?”

He smiled at me warmly. It sent shrills down my body. “I’m Edward Cullen.”

He looked at the ground and I followed his gaze. James lay there crippled. He almost looked dead. I think he was.

“You…You did that?” I asked in shock.

He grinned at me again. My heart skipped a beat. “Yeah.”

His face then turned consented. “Are you alright?” He asked eyeing my elbows and knee’s.

I nodded. “Just a couple of scrapes.”

After that everything went black. I could feel cool arms wrapped around me. I tried opening my eyes but they wouldn’t obey. It suddenly got cold. Colder than before. But I felt awkwardly safe.

“Edward.” I whispered.

“Shhh…” He told me.

“You’re tired. Sleep.”

And then I drowned in the current of exhaustion.

ChApTeR TwO: Truth…

One Year Later….

I sighed as I got out of the car. I hated this day. More than anything.

“Have a fun, Bella.” My mother called from inside her red Honda Pilot

I turned slowly to her and gave her an irritated look. “I’m not in third grade anymore mom. Don’t embarrass me.”

She then gave me ‘I’m just being a mother’ look and turned to the road and quickly speeds off. I looked as she disappeared. It was going to be a long day and I’m certainly not prepared for this.

As I stepped into the school I recognized a couple of people from the previous year. I was only a freshman in high school and it was my first day. So it would be normal for me not to know anybody.

I looked down at the small sheet of paper I was holding with my classes, teachers, and room number. I wasn’t really paying attention to where I was going when I ran into something or someone. It knocked me flat on my butt.

I felt irritated and was about to scold who ever I bumped in to when I looked up I gasped.

“I’m so sorry.” He muttered as he got up and gathered our books.

He held out his hand and I took it willingly.

“Nice going, Edward.” The blond girl beside him rolled her eyes.

My heart was beating faster and faster as I looked at him. I didn’t know what to say or do so I just stood there watching him pick up our books.

He handed them to me and I murmured “Thanks.” And gave a weak smile.

He then nodded and smiled back. I swore my heart did a summersault twice.

His expression then changed. “Don’t I know you?” He asked.

The girl beside him sighed. “Does it really matter?”
“Shut up, Rosalie. And you can leave if you wish.”

The girl “Rosalie” seemed offended some how and trotted off.

Edward watched her walk away but then looked at me.

“Sorry about that. Rosalie didn’t really mean it. Well…she did but you know what I’m saying.”

I nodded and smiled.

He smiled back again. “You were that girl running around at night in the woods two summers ago.”

I bit my lip a little embarrassed at that fact. “Yeah you could say that.”

It got real silent and awkward the two of us standing there.

He was the first to break the silence. “Um…I have to go to class. See you around?”

Edward smiled at me as he walked away and I swore I had a mini heart attack.

I walked to my next class spotting someone unexpected. I tried to hide behind other student’s locker and doors but he still saw me.

He had that smirk as he came toward me. “Hey, Bella.”

“What do you want Jasper.” My teeth clenched together.

“Oh come on don’t be like that. You’re still mad?” Jasper smirk only got bigger. His friends… well, really entourage laughed ad snickered behind him.

“You should learn to let things go. It’s good for you.” He reached out his index finger and touched my chin making me look at him.

“Don’t touch me.” I slapped him and ran away.

As I ran I heard Jasper yell back. “You’ll come running back to me, Bella! They always do!”

Tears streamed down my eyes as I entered the girl washroom. I slammed my bag onto the counter and watched myself cry in the mirror.

“I’m so stupid!” I told myself.

“How could I trust him? That dirty sleaze bag.” My lip trembled and I continued to sob.
I heard the first bell ring but I didn’t care. I could miss first period. No one would notice.

“Bella?” I heard someone call me. The voice was familiar.

I wasn’t in the mood to talk anymore. “What do you want?”

“It’s Alice. I just wanted to talk. I saw you run in here. I was wondering if you ok.” She took a step closer to me.

“Don’t come near me!” I yelled at her.

“How could you Alice? I thought you were my best friend. How could you hurt me like this?”

I looked up to see her roll her eyes. “Excuse me?”

“So, now I’m the bad guy. Your so pathetic, Bella.”

No one could understand how angry and hurt I felt right now. Why is this so complicated?

Alice continued when I didn’t answer to her statement. “You knew I wanted him. You knew I liked him for the longest time. Since second grade.”

“You only met him what…in fifth grade.” She shook her head tears streaming down her face.

My jaw clenched. “But that didn’t give you the excuse to hurt me like this Alice?”

Alice’s eyes grew wide in disbelief. “Ha! You think you’re the only one hurt here? Your so self centered, Bella.”

“Don’t you think I was hurt every time I saw you and Jasper holding hands? Don’t you think I was hurt when he every year choose you to be his partner in every subject.”

“You’ve always been the pretty one, Bella. Other than Rosalie. When ever a guy couldn’t get her they went to you. You were second choice and sometimes first. And what was I? 10th under Ellena Gilbert but before Jessica Stanley. You don’t even know how that feels. Especially if they guy that you like is one of the most popular one. The guy that every girl wants.” Her voice grew hard and her face red with rage. But I swore I saw hurt and pain behind that hard mask of strength she wore to hide herself.

I didn’t know what to say. There was nothing really to say.

Alice once again shook her head at me. “And I thought I came in here to comfort you.”

She snorted. “No matter how much people say you aren’t like Rosalie. You are. You’re a heartless little snob that belongs in the trash.”

She left slamming the washroom door. I couldn’t believe what I just heard. But she was right. Alice is always right. How could she not be? I am heartless and snobby and probably do belong in the trash. I forgot that she did like Jasper. But what girl isn’t crushing on Jasper. There are so many girl to get mad at why me? Right… Because I’m her best friend.

I stayed there in the girl’s washroom until second bell rang. Thinking about stuff that I’ve neglected in the past. At times crying

ChApTeR tHrEe:

“Come on Edward seriously?” He gave me that look that he always gave me.

I was beginning to get very irritated with him. “Leave me alone I don’t feel like playing.”

He sighed. “It’s just football. What harm could possibly do to you.” His expression changed into a smirk

I looked at him like he was a lunatic. “I can’t play with those people. You know that as well as I do.”

“Yes, you can. You just have to be very careful. Very very careful. Come on. Give this a chance. You might make new friends.”

I got up from the living room couch and walked away from him. I was really starting to get sick of my enthusiastic brother. He followed behind me like a stray dog.

I stopped at turned to him. “Seriously Emmett. You can’t go bother somebody else?”

He shrugged. “You’re my only brother. There’s no one else really to bother.”

“How about Rosalie.”

“She went shopping with Esme.”

“Probably ‘cause she was sick of you.” I muttered.

“I heard that.”

“You always do. How about Carlisle?” I recommended.

“He’s busy.” Emmett said.

"Please Edward. Or I will tell about you know who." His eyebrows shot up twice. His thoughts were certainly devilish.

“You wouldn’t.” I said aloud.

"Would I?" Emmett gave me an Evil grin and glanced at the door planning a way to sneak away. But overall it wouldn’t work. After all I could read his thoughts.

I sighed. “Fine. Let’s go play some football!”

He raced out the door. “Yeah! Woh! Oh by the way I invited the Denali coven and Peter and Charlotte! No humans! I lied about that part!” He yelled out to me still running.

I groaned and caught up to him seconds. “Seriously Emmett. You couldn’t find a different way to embarrass me.”

He shook his head. “Nope. Plus what kind of a game would it be if we played with humans? We would have to let them win all the time and if we didn’t we would crush them. Literally.”

He snickered in his thoughts and we both kept running in high speed past the trees. Reaching the clearing I spotted the Denali coven. Tanya, Kate, Irina, Gravette and Laurent. And a few yards away were Peter and Charlotte. I was actually quite glad to see them. It’s been a long while.

“Hello, Edward.” Tanya greeted me from where she was. She spoke no higher than anyone could at a normal face to face conversation.

I nodded. “Tanya. It’s wonderful to see you.”

She smiled. “As for you.”

And then Kate yelled out. “Hey! Were not here to catch up on what had happened during the years! Well… we are but still. We came to kick some vampire butts! Isn’t that right Gravette?!”

The man nodded. “That right Kate. No mercy.”

I grinned at the light moods our guest were having and joined them across the field.

At the far end I could sense that someone else other than us was here. Irina growled but I told her to cut it off. I knew that scent.

A man came out of the woods grinning. “Were you really going to start a game with out me?” He asked.

I grinned along with him. “Steffan Salvatore! Haven’t seen this face in a while.”

We both chuckled. “Well, Edward it was about time.”

Right after you greetings we started business. It was Tanya, Charlotte, Emmett, Kate and Laurent on one team and Me, Gravette, Irina and Steffan, Peter on the opposing team. We played with our gifts considering that I couldn’t turn mines off like the rest.

With Gravette cutting off all your senses and me reading minds we did a pretty good. Even with out Emmett’s Bronze we still got brains. They still had a chance with Emmett strength and Kate’s elective current thing.

In the end we won. Who could have not predicted that?

I ran home by myself leaving the Denali’s, Peter and Charlotte and Emmett socializing. I wasn’t in the mood to talk.

As I sat down on the only chair in my room I grabbed a book from the shelve next to it. As I read my mind wondered off to someone. Bella.

I was running through the woods thirsty. My throat ached. I was dieing to sink my teeth into an animal. But that’s when I heard her screaming. I ran and found a little house. I hadn’t noticed it here in the middle of the woods before. I inched closer to the house and spotted three humans. Two girls and a boy. They looked like they were arguing. One of the girls was crying.

“What the hell, Jasper!” She screamed.

“It’s not what it looks like, Bella. We were just studying.” The only male in the room panicked.

“Oh *edited by moderator* She found out. Damn. But seriously who cares. I can get another one of her any day.” Jaspers thoughts were self-seeking and hardhearted.

“I would have expected it from you but seriously Alice? Why.” Bella begged.

Alice replied. “I didn’t mean it Bella. I just…I just wanted him and I couldn’t stand it when you got him.”

But the girl Alice thoughts said otherwise. “She deserved it. I don’t care if she goes into depression.”

I could hear Bella’s soft sobs. “I knew it I should have never trusted him.”

“I can’t believe this!” Bella screamed. Hurt and pain showed distinctively on her face.

“Stupid dirty liar!” She yelled at Jasper. Bella then pushed passed him running out of the house.

“Bella wait!” He called for her but she was long gone.

“Who cares about her, Jasper? You still got me.” Alice gave him a sly smile.

“That right babe.”

And then they started making out. I grew bored and followed Bella. She hadn’t gotten far when I reached her. She was walking down the road her thoughts full of anger, hurt and betrayal.

“There’s one.” I heard a someone say. It sounded like a woman.

A car pulled up beside Bella. I watched from the dark depths of the woods as the man stuck out his head and said. “Need a lift little girl?” His voice was deep and rough.

Bella shook her head. “No.”

“I’m fine.”

“Good at least she knows what’s safe and what’s not.” I thought to myself.

She quickened her pace but the car kept following her.

“Are you sure sweetheart?” The same woman who spoke before spoke now.

“No I’m fine.” Bella said again and quickened her pace.

I didn’t realize before but at the man and the woman’s face entered the light of the moon I saw it. These weren’t human but vampires. I didn’t know why I hadn’t seen that before but as I looked back it was too late.

The man lunged to Bella but I caught him before he could touch her. I ripped him into bits. When I looked around the woman was no where to be seen.

I then looked at Bella. Her eyes were closed. I had also not realized this before but she was beautiful and pale. Her hair was glossy and a deep chestnut brown. She opened her eyes slowly and her eyes were more stunning it was like diving into a pool of chocolate. I’ve never tasted chocolate myself but to a human I would think it would be delicious.

I took a steady breath noticing to late it was a mistake. My throat clenched with thirst. She smelled so good. I could see her blood running through her veins. Her sweet blood. As much as I wanted her blood I enjoyed the banquet while resisting the wine.

“Your safe now Bella.” I told her.

She nodded. I could see the trust in her face. “Who are you?”

I smiled. “I’m Edward Cullen.”

I looked at the floor where the man laid there sprawled. “You…You did that?” Bella’s voice was filled with astonishment and admiration.

“Yeah.” I grinned and Bella’s heart went flying. My grin only got bigger.

I looked at her and saw she had scrapes on her elbows and knees. “Are you alright?” I said with concern.

“Just a couple of scrapes.”

Her eyes then closed and she clasped. I caught her before she hit the floor. Hugging her warm body against me. The burning in my throat only got hotter. I ignored it and tried not to breath.

“Edward…” She whispered.

“Shhh…” I hushed her.

“Your tired sleep.”

And she did. Her breathing grew soft and her heart calmed. I looked at her peaceful face. She seemed familiar. Then I recognized who she was. She was Isabella Swan. Chef Swan’s daughter.

And then I broke into a sprint. Running through the woods making sure not to jostle her awake. I finally reached her house in five minutes. It was pretty old. I set her on the front step and knocked on the door.

I heard noises from inside. Chef Swan got up to come answer the door. A baby cried but a woman hushed her.

I darted to the woods before Charlie turned the knob. “Bella?” He asked.

Bella groaned and her eyes slowly opened. “Dad?”

“What are you doing out here in the cold.” His tone was angry.

“You were supposed to be home four hours ago.”

“I’m sorry dad I was with Jasper.”

Charlie grumbled. “Didn’t I tell you to stay away from that boy? He’s bad news.”

“Don’t worry dad. You wouldn’t be seeing that boy around with me anymore.” Bella was half asleep as she got up from the step and squeezed through her dad to get inside.

“Good.” Chef Swan said before he closed the door.

I waited a while to see if anyone would speak again but no one did. And then all of a sudden there thoughts disappeared too. I was shocked but didn’t spend a lot of time thinking about it. I started running home. Hoping to one day see Bella. My beautiful Bella.

“Hey Edward what’s up!” Emmett walked into my room like it was nothing.

“Didn’t I tell you to knock before you enter?!” I yelled at him.

“Sorry.” He mumbled.

I sighed. “Forget it. What do you want?”

“I just wanted to see if you want to prank humans today?”

I sighed. “You know what Carlisle says about that.”

“I know. But Carlisle isn’t here is he. Come on Edward. Please…”

“Pretty please. I will start singing if you don’t…”

Emmett trailed of after a while and I tried my best to tune him out. It was going to be a very long night.
