Welcome, I can't wait to get started!
I'm Claire, the person that will be leading this class this term!
We will be focusing on text in GIMP this term.
This term we will learn things beginning from downloading fonts to gradients, to patterns to embossing them and much more!
I'm going to try my hardest to teach you all something that you didn't already know.
I know I'm not the best with text, or anything else for that matter, but I'll do what I can!

I wasn't actually going to download a font in the process of making this tut but that font was featured on the homepage when I opened it and I thought it was really pretty. xD

Okie Dokie, our next lesson will be on text.
Well, duh huh?
Haha
But more specifically it's going to be on exaggerating text.
This is generally really easy!
It's a kind of a long lesson but there really isn't much to exaggerating text.
But there are a few different parts to exaggerating your text.
Step One: Spacing
What I mean when I say spacing text is this:
In this first graphic I used one text box, and just hit enter when I wanted a new line of text.
See how boxy and square and slightly out of place it looks?The spacing between the lines is a wee bit too much, and all the sides line up.
Now in this graphic I used four text boxes; one for each line of text. (So if I was going to do six lines of text I would use six text boxes, eight text boxes if I wanted eight lines of text, etc.)
See how much more interesting it looks just by changing the spacing a bit?Now for step two: Font size
Now I'm going to vary the font sizes between each individual line.
See what it did? A small, but also significant change in the graphic.You can also play around with using different fonts in one graphic when you do it multiple text boxes!
Okie Dokie.
Easy right?

Also, you might notice that I used borders on my text, if you don't know how to do that, chill, it's okay!
