Permalink Reply by Buffy on June 21, 2012 at 7:32am I'm about halfway through it and unfortunately, I'm finding that it's turning out to be quite slow. Grrrrrr...
Permalink Reply by Navdha on June 23, 2012 at 1:29pm Ah, so alas this series is going to be left unread.
Permalink Reply by Navdha on June 24, 2012 at 2:18pm Just saw your rating and review on goodreads. I have many other good books waiting for me so this is a no-go.
Permalink Reply by ╰☆╮Brandy Hill╰☆╮ on June 24, 2012 at 2:37pm I'm reading The Hunger Games for the first time! I'm really excited. I'm only on page 20 of the first book lol.
Permalink Reply by ╰☆╮Brandy Hill╰☆╮ on July 5, 2012 at 12:04pm I'm finished with them, now, and I'm on my first re-read. They made me so depressed! I love Peeta though. He seems like such a perfect person. Like Haymitch said "You could live a hundred lifetimes and never deserve him." It's true! I wish I had a guy like him. :(
Permalink Reply by Navdha on July 5, 2012 at 4:07pm I had spoiled the last book for myself by reading a spoiler somewhere since then I've been very very careful with all the other books reviews. I re-read the entire series a couple of months back again for the third time. Each character is very speshul to me. Don't worry you'll find your Peeta one day or maybe he'll find you. ;D
Permalink Reply by ╰☆╮Brandy Hill╰☆╮ on July 5, 2012 at 5:58pm Aaaawwwwwww! *hugs* lol. I forced my friend, which may or may not have involved sharp pointy weapons *shrug*, to give away some of the ending. Then when she finally agrees, she's like ##SPOILER ALERT## "Prim dies! And Peeta tries to kill her!" ##END SPOILER ALERT##
I nearly had a coronary. I think the only thing that stopped me was that if I ended up in the hospital, it would be a while before I could finish the books. :)
I get soo overly involved with books that I read. It's really not funny at all. I was seriously moping around the house. I didn't think the ending was very good at all. Collins had such a great writing method, but the ending just felt like a bunch of words with no real emotion. Kind of like a cop giving a report. The epilogue made it a little better, but I wanted to know sooo much more. I wish she would write another one.

Haha! One of my friend threatened me to not read a book because she couldn't and didn't want me to finish it before her because she knew I'd tease her about it. When it comes to spoilers we get all crazy and cranky. On the inside we are dying to know what happens but then we cover our ears or eyes so that the suspense isn't spoiled for us.
I've done a lot of threatening to make my friends read some books that I can't wait to talk about with them. It's totally selfish on my part but on second thoughts they too get to read a good book and I'm also making the book popular and in a way doing the author a favor and doesn't that make you feel good! :D
After Prim's death, Katniss was like a zombie herself. The book did go down real fast after that. It was all facts but then I think that's what Collins was trying to achieve. She wanted to show how Katniss was all emotionless and detached from everything. All she had ever tried to do after her father's death was save Prim and she failed to do so and it just killed a part of her too.
I was so glad that this turned into a movie. I hadn't expected Josh to play Peeta but he did a good job. However, Liam Hemsworth was really emotionless. He looked like Gale but didn't act like one. Jennifer Lawrence was really great. I totally have a girl crush on her. :D
Permalink Reply by ╰☆╮Brandy Hill╰☆╮ on July 6, 2012 at 7:18pm I know! I was going over to her house and we were just gossiping about Katniss and Peeta and stuff. lol.
I kept kind of expecting Katniss to break down after Prim, but she never did. I guess that was the survivor element she is so known for. It just didn't feel right to me. Maybe that's why I didn't like it - the lack of emotion. But I really wanted to hear more about her and Peeta. I was completely in love with him, like I said. I think Josh did an awesome job at the part. He is so normal so it makes it work. He has the shy/nice guy thing down. I am stoked about Catching Fire. It was my favorite book - there's so much more Haymitch, who I love. And Finnick. I heard Chris Hemsworth was going to play him. Idk, but I think he would be perfect. Liam was ok for Gale, but I don't really think he is attractive. He fit the bill, though, but I didn't really like how they played him in THG. Idk, I'm too particular...
And Jennifer Lawrence is hot!! lol. She nailed Katniss.
Permalink Reply by Navdha on July 7, 2012 at 7:12am I can talk about books and fictional characters all day long. :D
I get it. I wasn't particularly disappointed with the ending or series but it would have been nice to see more of Peeta and Katniss together. I've loved Josh's acting since he was a kid. He is really great at what he does. Have you ever watched Josh and Jennifer's interview together? They are hilarious and Jennifer is such a sweetheart. She is so funny and down to earth and pretty and awesome.
Me too! Ticktockticktock.. The arena would be a sight to see. I loved Finnick so very much and his death was so quick and unexpected that I couldn't even understand what happened for a while. The shock didn't set in till the book was over. Collins didn't even mourn for his character. It was the most disappointing thing in the entire series. Are you sure they'd be taking Chis Hemsworth? I don't know but two brothers in the same movie? And Chris is huge. I don't know..
Yeah, Liam was unimpressive.
