Chapter One ; Bumping Into That Certain Brick Wall
Walking down the school halls of LaPush, had became an everyday thing to me. Being greeted as soon as I walked through the doors by students and hated by the popular chicks. I'd became known around these halls as Victoria Jeah Wolfe. The girl from Texas. I don't really mind cause I've gotten used to it.
I put my geometry book into my locker and took out my English II book. I closed my locker to see Lacey, she was a close friend of mine's here at this school. Though we were almost total opposites. She liked to wear long sleeves and skinny legs. I on the other hand liked to wear shorts and tank-tops
"Hey Wolfe," she said with a smile on her face. I grinned at her
"Hiya Silk." I said and we started to walk to our first period together.
"So have you heard about Jared and Paul?" she asked me,pushing her silky black hair to the back of her head.
I shook my head "No,the name's barely ring a bell." I said, feeling my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I took it out and put the pass-code in as she started to talk.
"Ya know the cool dude that Kim has a crush on and Paul the temperamental dude. They both suddenly disappeared from school." she added seeing the confused look on my face.
"Oh those two, what about them?" I asked looking at the text my ma had sent me.
I left the key under the rock in the garden, decided to head out to Seattle for some more groceries.-mom
While she's up there I might as well remind her to get my key made and an extra for if one of us lost the other.
Alright mama be careful & get my key and an extra key for the backdoor made while your there.
"Well they're back and Jared's like attached to Kim." Lacey continued "Knowing Kim she'll be at breakfast awaiting to tell you everything." she said tugging unconsciously at her necklace.
"I, on the other hand need to get going. I've gotta finish homework." she had Algebra I, again cause last year she'd failed I don't blame her I would have to if I had a baby brother and a sick mom. But luckily I don't. It's just me and my mom.
As if keeping Lacey true to her words, Kim was right there by the cafeteria entrance waiting for me.I smiled brightly seeing her.
"Hey Kim," I said giving her a sideways hug. She smiled giving me a tight one in return. I loved Kim like a little sister cause she was always giddy and whenever she saw me she'd smile even wider and her eyes would glow with excitement.
"Heya Wolfe,I have so much to tell you!" she said excitement radiating from her tone. "Like the fact that my middle-school crush Jared Cameron is talking to me." she said walking into the doors before me. I followed after her after waving to a freshman named Collin and his friend Brady. I tutored them on Friday's after school and sometime's Monday if they're up for it or I don't have work. Anyways back to topic with Kim.
"Seriously? That's great you have to tell me all about it. Like when did it start?Or how." I said grabbing the plastic tray that had a blueberry muffin on it. Kim handed me a small carton of apple juice.
"Biology Class. He needed a pencil and I so happened to have an extra. I was about to hand it to him when our eyes connected." she said putting in her pin number.
"Sounds like a princess meeting her prince." I said, she rolled her eyes. I giggled "Continue." I ushered her as I put my pin in.
"Well when our eyes met I gave him the pencil. Careful not to touch his skin." she gushed. "He didn't look away from my eyes till I turned around. And I swear I heard him sigh as if he was sad I looked away. Gosh! I was dieing on the inside." she rushed out in one breath. I laughed.
"Sounds like love at first sight for him too." I said teasing her gently. She rolled her eyes opening the plastic wrapper.
"It's not just that he looked at me,it's his appearance too!" she said loudly making a couple students walking by turn to us with questioning looks. I ignored them and took a sip of my juice. "He's gotten..." she trailed off to find the right words.I'd started to play temple run while she was looking for the right took a few seconds. "Buffer and Taller?..Yea those will work. His friend Paul is even like that too. Do you think they're both on steroids?" she asked me.
"No we are not on steroids." I deep voice said from beside her. I looked up from my game in time to see her squeal and blush. "I like my man hood as it is." he said, humor evident in his voice. "Whose your friend?" he asked looking at me. Then recognition set in for him "Oh hey Victoria," he said holding his hand out for me to shake.
I took his hand. His whole hand almost swallowed my small one. They were very warm also, with a firm grip as if he was holding back.
"Hi Jared." I smiled. "Oh crap look at the time I have to get to class. See you two later." I said standing up. I turned around and bumped into something that felt like a wall. A wall that basically radiated heat. I looked up to the owner of the wall to see Paul Lahote. He backed up a little and I recomposed myself. I went to apologize to him when our eyes met. It was almost everything and more. Those chocolate orbes burned a whole into my baby blues. I felt as if he could see my soul.
At that moment something inside me said
Your life's been changed.

Hi Be the Change,
I really live your first chapter. The style is very accesable and down to earth almost playful.
I'm looking forward to chapter two. Will she run from Paul? Dose she have any idea what is going on down there in La Push? It didn't sound like the other girls knew.
Best wishes
Chris

I like the character you have made - she is very relatable. You ended this on a GREAT cliffy "You're Life Has Been Changed." I am interested in the time line in this, it sounds a bit like Eclipse time. How this affect the rest of the story?
I can't believe Paul imprinted! I really like this idea as it never really seems like he got much of a happy ending in the book - he wasn't even allowed in Jacob's pack!
And what is happening in La Push? So many questions!
Hope you continue,
Marisa

It can be difficult to find other writers to take on your work but I do know how very long it takes to write a story - it is a life changing amount of time and energy.
Think carefully before you decide.
I did really enjoy your first chapter.
Best wishes
