The Twilight Saga

This takes place almost a decade after Breaking Dawn. What if it hadn't gone all peacefully with the Volturi and a war broke out? What if instead of Jacob running with Renesmee, Bella had?

Prologue

I was running. Running for my life and the life of my daughter who helplessly clung to my back. The trees blurred into a wall of jade. But who was I running from? The people who wanted to hurt my daughter. The people who wanted to hurt her, kill her. I couldn’t let that happen. My feet barley touched the forest floor below me. So I ran away from those killers… and my family.

Chapter 1- Unexpected Meeting

Bella’s POV

“Hello. Mom are you okay?” an attentive voice broke through my flashback of that fateful day. I stared into the caring eyes of my daughter. Renesmee.
“Yeah I’m fine,” I lied. She didn’t look convinced.
“I miss them to,” she said touching the top of my hand where it rested on the table. She also knew what I was thinking.
“Are you ready to go?” I asked. We had been shopping at the Portland Mall the whole day. Renesmee said it was to keep the memory of Alice alive. It had been almost ten years since the day the Volturi attacked. My whole family was dead or at least I thought. Renesmee was always optimistic about that. She thought they were still alive. But I knew the chances were very, very slim. But who was I to squash her hope.
Portland was the closet place we had come to living to Forks. I had gone twice to visit there, once a year after I was separated from my family and another four years after that one. Both times I had found the big white house empty.
“Yeah I’m ready,” she answered. We got up from the table at the food court. Even though Renesmee preferred blood I encouraged her to eat human food too. Me, being all vampire, thought human food disgusting.
Renesmee went to dump her tray when something caught my eye. It was something small. Something pale. Something… pixie-like.
Alice.

I was frozen. I couldn’t breath. Could it really be her? She was a few hundred meters from me. It looked like her. Spiky black hair and all. So did that mean that the rest of my family was okay? Could my life go back to the way it was?
“Mom what’s wrong?” Renesmee asked.
“Alice,” I whispered, barley loud enough for her to hear. I knew she saw her too when she gasped.
“Alice,” Renesmee said louder. This time Alice heard and looked up.
Her golden eyes got huge and she staggered backwards when she saw us. Alice reached out and grabbed someone’s arm.
Rosalie.
Alice pointed at us. Rosalie had the same reaction Alice had had. We stared at each other for what seemed like hours. Nothing else existed except us four. I couldn’t help it any longer, I ran towards them, not caring who saw.
I hugged Alice tight, afraid she would disappear. But she didn’t. I was actually holding her. She was real and not a figment of my imagination. I pulled back to look at her. Alice’s breathing was uneven. I felt my eyes get dry and when I breathed it felt like I was choking on it. I was crying, tearless cries.
“Alice,” my voice cracked.
“Bella,” her voice cracked too. She threw herself at me. I buried my face in her shoulder. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Rosalie, it looked like she was about to cry too. I let go of Alice and went to hug Rose.
“Renesmee,” I heard Alice whisper. I looked up and saw Renesmee walking slowly toward us, like if she moved to fast they would disappear. I didn’t blame her. Alice hugged Renesmee and so did Rosalie.
“I can’t believe you’re all grown up,” Rosalie said to Renesmee. It was true, Renesmee was about the size of an eighteen year old. She almost didn’t grow anymore.
Renesmee only nodded, tears were still streaming down her face.
“We have to tell the others,” Alice said.
“Wait. There all alive,” I couldn’t believe it.
“Of course,” Alice said. We walked to where Rosalie had parked her convertible.
“So for the past six months both of you have been living in Portland,” Alice said after Renesmee was done showing them the ten years they had missed of our life. We were almost home.
“Yeah,” I was my answer. I was thinking of Edward. To have him hold me again and kiss me and tell me he loved me would be heaven.
We pulled up to the large white house. I felt like crying again. I wanted to run in there and see the rest of my family.
We walked together threw the front door, Alice was holding my hand.
“Hey Rose you’re ba…” Emmett was sitting on the couch watching a basketball game. His voice trailed off when he saw me.
“No way,” he whispered.
“Hey Emmett,” I managed to whisper. My voice cracked again.
“Bella!” he jumped of the couch and scooped me up into the biggest bear hug ever.
“You’re alive. This is amazing!” he exclaimed. Just then Jasper popped is head around the corner.
“Impossible,” he whispered too. Carlisle and Esme came around the corner behind Jasper.
“Oh my gosh,” Esme said before she bombarded me with hugs and kisses. Carlisle gave me a very loving and fatherly hug and even Jasper hugged me.
“Renesmee, you‘ve grown so much,” Carlisle asked. Renesmee only smiled. She too had been showered in hugs and kisses. Carlisle looked at me. “You wouldn’t by chance have kept record of her growth,” his eyes were eager.
“Actually I did keep a chart of her growth over the past decade,” Carlisle’s shown with the eagerness to gather new information. “It’s back at our apartment. And of course I’ll show it to you Carlisle,” I added at the end.
“Thank you.”
A question that burned with the intensity of a thousand suns burned inside me. A question I hadn’t been able to ask until now.
“Where’s Edward?”
I got really quiet then. Nobody moved or even breathed.
“You haven’t told her?” Emmett asked after what seemed like hours of silence.
“We didn’t have time to tell her,” Alice said.
“Tell me what?” I asked. Had something happened to Edward? No. Alice said they were all alive. So what was wrong that would make them act like this.
“We have to tell you something Bella,” Carlisle said, “about Edward,” he led me to the couch.
They explained that after the Volturi had left and they found out Renesmee and I had ran off, Edward wanted to track us and bring us back. But they didn’t let him go alone. Esme couldn’t bare to have him leave again. So they left for five years to find us. Which would explain why the house was empty when I came. They had traveled all over the United States and Canada and Mexico and South America but they didn’t find us. They thought one of the Volturi had gotten to us and killed us. Edward wanted to go to Italy and kill them. They hadn’t let him do that either. So for the past five years he had been locked in his room. Emmett and Jasper forced to hunt but said he was a zombie, lifeless. He hadn’t hunted in two months.
“But that can all change now,” Esme exclaimed, “You’re here now and you can bring him back.”
This was a lot to take in. Edward was only a few hundred meters away from me. My other half.
I took a deep breath. “I want to see him. Now.”
“We’ll take you to him,” Alice said.
“Both of us,” Rosalie added.
Alice and Rosalie led Renesmee and me up the stairs to the top floor and to Edwards door. He was there, on the other side of that door. My breathes came unevenly.
“Edward,” Rosalie said, knocking on the door. “Edward. I know you’re in there. You’ll never guess who’s here.”
No one answered.
“It’s Bella,” Rosalie continued excitedly “She’s alive Edward and so is Nessie.”
This time somebody answered.
“That’s not funny Rosalie,” The beautiful velvet voice snarled.
“Edward she’s telling the truth,” Alice said “ She’s really here.”
There was no answer.
I held up my hand to stop Rosalie from saying whatever she was going to say.
“Edward,” I whispered.
The door opened

XOX ASHLEY
This is Edward's POV.
Nothing.
That's what I felt. Nothing.
There was no point in living anymore.
The two people I loved the most had been taken away from me.
I had left Bella once but that was to protect her. I knew how it felt to be away from her. My life was like a night sky, with points of reason here and there. Bella shot across my sky and I was amazed at her beauty. Then she was gone and I was blinded by her light. But she came back and my life had meaning once more. I had her and my daughter. I was so happy. That happiness only lasted a few months before the Volturi came and separated us. Now my life wasn’t a starless night but an abyss. There was nothing to grab onto or a floor to stand on. Nothing. Just black.
I heard a commotion downstairs. Maybe the Denali’s had come for a visit again. I didn’t want them here. I blocked out the noise.
I heard four sets of feet stop outside of my door.
“Edward,” a voice said. Rosalie. “Edward. I know you’re in there. You’ll never guess who’s here.”
I wanted to tell her to go away and whoever she brought up to see me. But I didn’t, I stayed quiet.
“It’s Bella. She’s alive Edward and so is Nessie.”
WHAT?!
This was a sick, cruel joke Rosalie was playing.
“That isn’t funny Rosalie!” I snarled at her. I didn’t care if I hurt her feelings.
“Edward she’s telling the truth,” another voice said. Alice. “ She’s really here.”
This didn’t make sense. Alice wouldn’t toy with my emotions like that. I got up from the couch where I laid in the darkness.
That’s when I heard the most beautiful sound ever. The sound of an angel. My other half. Bella.
“Edward.”
I ran to the door.
I opened it
OMG
love it!!!!!
i agree...

Bella’s POV

There in the doorway stood Edward. I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t move. I could only stare. It was him. He stood there, staring at me like he couldn’t believe it either. I don’t know how long we stood there. Time meant nothing. Everything else just melted away. It was just him and me.
“Bella,” he whispered. His hand reached up to stroke my face as if to see if I was real. I reached up to stroke his cheek.
“Edward,” I whispered. All of a sudden I was airborne. Something had knocked into me. No, not something, someone. Edward. I heard the pictures and paintings crash to the floor. I felt his face buried in my hair. His arms were around me, like constricting anacondas, squeezing the life out of there prey. But these arms weren’t lethal. They were comforting. I heard him saying my name over and over again, muffled by my hair. I wrapped my arms around his neck. I wrapped my legs around his waist pulling him closer to me. I buried my face in his neck, breathing in his honey-lilac-sun-flavored scent. It was delicious!
I couldn’t believe it! Here he was, in my arms. So many weeks, months, years I had wished to hold him, to have him back in my life like it used to be before we were separated.
I felt his head pull back away from me. He stared into my eyes, his eyes burning into mine.
His lips found mine. His lips had a fierce edge to them but I didn’t care. My head was filled with his sweet smell.
“Excuse us,” Alice said. I had forgotten we had company.
I reluctantly let go of Edward but he kept an arm tight around my waist.
“I think you forgot someone,” Alice told him. She was holding Renesmee’s hand.
“Daddy,” Renesmee voice cracked.
“Renesmee,” Edward whispered, shocked.
Edward let go of me to stand in front of Renesmee.
“Oh my gosh,” Edward whispered. The last time he had seen her she was the size of a toddler but now she was the size of a teenager.
He scooped her up in his arms and started twirling around and around.
“Nessie,” he kept saying over and over again.
He scooped me up to and started to twirl us both around.
Edward set us down and looked at us with wide smoldering eyes.
“What… Where…How,” Edward stammered.
“I’ll answer that,” Alice said, stepping forward.
“Rosalie and I were at the Portland mall shopping. I heard someone call my name and I looked up to see Bella and Renesmee standing there. We were reunited and then Rose and I brought her back. The rest is history,” she concluded.
Edward reached out to kiss her on the cheek. Alice dramatically wiped off the kiss from her cheek but from the smile on her face it was clear she was happy to have her old brother back.
“Well what are we waiting for?” Rosalie asked. “ The rest of our family are down their waiting for us.”
With Rosalie and Alice leading the way, we descended down the stairway. Edward with his hand in Renesmee’s hand and his other around my waist.
