Chapter One

Edward listened closely over the constant hum of mosquitos in the air. The smell of the damp tundra was so refreshing, always saturated with the essence of a fresh rain. It was late at night but the sun still burned brightly in the sky. He clung under the shade of a huge pine tree so that his skin couldn’t reflect the shards of light thrown down by the sun and give away his location. Each and every one of Edwards senses were on full alert. His enemy was close and he needed to ready for the battle.

The thoughts of the attacker allowed Edward enough time to turn around and decide how to retaliate as the hulking figure hurled himself at Edward. Edward was much too fast and dodged out of the way as the assailant rushed past and ran into the old pine that had offered Edward its shade. The great tree crackled and moaned at the impact as it finally toppled over sending a rush of birds into the sky. At lightning speed, Edward ran at his attacker and shoved him hard into the ground so that their bodies indented the earth.
His opponent began laughing hysterically, “Esme’s going to be furious that you knocked down another one of her trees!”

“Are you kidding me? That one was all on you, Emmett! I didn’t make you run into the tree!” Edward was now laughing along with his burly brother. The two boys stood up and brushed themselves off. Then the sound of the sliding glass door at the back of their house caught their attention. They turned to see Esme standing there with an upset look on her face.

“Boys! What did I tell you about the trees? Pretty soon my Alaskan wilderness view is going to look like a parking lot!” Esme’s hand was at her hip and she looked so motherly.

“Sorry Esme.” Edward offered. He hated to see her upset.

She sighed and shook her head, “Well come on in, we’re expecting company.” The boys shoved each other back and forth as they made their way back to the house.

They walked up the back porch steps of their log home. The triangular front of the home had high windows pieced together allowing the natural light to filter in. The cabin did not have as many windows as their last home in Forks but it was still enough to make the place look bright and cheerful.

Rosalie was sitting on the couch flipping through a fashion magazine and Emmett plopped down beside her and kissed her cheek. She smiled at the affection and then Emmett picked up the remote and began flipping through the channels.

Esme was arranging some wild Alaskan flowers in an elegant glass vase on the dining table. Alice was begging Jasper to play her a game of chess but he remained firm in turning her down. Carlisle came down the stairs after having been in his study all day. He walked over to Esme and wrapped his arms around her. He whispered something to her and she smiled at what he said.

Edward saw who was missing from the group and knew exactly where she was. He rounded the corner of the kitchen and peeked into the office. It was a decent sized room with a mahogany desk and a top of line computer sitting on it. The walls were lined with shelves carrying every book you could ever want. This room had been designed to give Renesmee her own private place to do her homework. Edward smiled at his wife, Bella, as she sat at the computer staring at the screen.

“At it again, are you?” Edward walked into the room and rounded the desk so that he was on the same side as Bella and could see the pictures on the screen that he knew all too well.

Bella shrugged. “I just miss her.”

Bella was clicking through photographs of Renesmee and Jacob in South America. Some of the pictures included their old friends from the Amazon coven. Bella and Edward had never seen their daughter more happy. Her bright smile lit the pictures and she outshined any exotic parrot or other creature she happened to be posing with. She had grown into such a beautiful young woman.

Bella sighed. “I just wish she’d send another email already. We haven’t heard from her since last week.”
Edward chuckled, “Well, she’s on her honeymoon. I don’t think keeping us updated is her first priority.”
Bella turned off the computer screen and wheeled her chair to face Edward. “Why did we let her do this again?”

Edward laughed. “We? I think you were the one that told her she could marry Jacob.”

“Well I seem to remember you telling her that she could get married once she got her first college degree.” Bella shot back.

Edward cleared his throat. “I didn’t know she would get her first degree by the age of twelve.”

They both had to laugh. Renesmee did not look 12 but had already grown into her 17 year old body with the maturity of 25 year old. They knew from the start that the day would come when Renesmee would marry Jacob. They had just hoped that it wouldn’t be this soon.

“Don’t worry Bella,” Edward soothed, “She’s with Jake. What could happen?”

Just then Alice’s musical voice rang out “They’re here!” Moments later there was a knock at the door. Their guests had arrived. Edward and Bella joined the family in the living room just in time to welcome the Denali coven into their home. Tanya walked through the door first and Esme and Carlisle were there to greet her with a hug. She flipped her strawberry blond hair over her shoulder and greeted everyone else. Next through the door were Eleazar and Carmen. Carmen and Esme complemented each other’s outfits and stood to the side visiting with each other. Eleazar closed the door behind them. Bella noticed that the entire coven had not arrived.

“I love what you’ve done with the place!” Carmen exclaimed to Esme. “I think I’ll need you to come and redecorate our cabin!”

“Of course! I would be happy to!” Esme offered. They all settled down on the brown leather couches in the living room.

Eleazar asked the first question, “So how do you like Juneau?”

“We love it.” Carlisle answered. “The kids have been able to go to high school and then move straight onto college at the University of Alaska Southeast. I’ve been able to practice medicine at the local hospital. This really is one of the best places we’ve lived so far.”

“Glad to hear it!” Eleazar smiled.

Tanya spoke up next, “So now that you guys are all out of school for the summer, what do you do to keep busy around here?”

Emmett laughed, “Get all the grizzly I can!” Edward and Jasper chuckled along with him.

Bella’s curiosity about Kate and Garrett’s whereabouts pulled at her so she asked, “Where are Kate and Garrett? Didn’t they want to come and visit?”

Tanya grinned at the question. “Oh those two love birds wanted some alone time.” The boys broke out in laughter once more but Jaspers laugh was cut short when Alice went rigid next to him. Her eyes were glazed over but her expression revealed the horror of what she was seeing.

“Alice, what is it? What do you see?” Jasper asked. The entire room was silent now.

“No, no, no!” Alice fought. She did not want her vision to be real. “No! This can’t be happening!”

In a fraction of a second, Carlisle was kneeling beside her, looking up into her face. “Alice, honey, you need to tell us what is going on. Maybe we can help.”

The vision was over and Alice’s eyes were closed shut. She buried her face into Jasper’s chest. “No, you can’t help. It’s too late. It’s done.”

“What’s done Alice? Please, you need to tell us.” Carlisle pushed.

Alice’s shoulders were heaving as she carried the burden of knowing the truth. She pulled away from Jaspers chest and looked at Tanya. “I’m so sorry Tanya. It’s Kate.”

Tanya jumped up from her seat. “What do you mean? What happened to Kate?” The panic struck Tanya as the fear of losing another sister overwhelmed her.

Alice forced the words out of her mouth. “Kate has been captured. It looks like the Volturi. I saw Jane, Corin, and Felix.” Alice struggled with the next part. “Garrett… He tried to protect her… I’m so sorry…” Alice was shaking her head trying to shake the images out of her mind.

“What Alice?” Eleazar asked desperately. “What happened to Garrett?”

Alice was digging her fingers so deep into the couch cushions that her fingernails shredded the upholstery. “I’m sorry… Garrett… is dead. They killed him.”

“No!” Tanya cried. “We have to go! We have to get back in time to save them!”

Alice shook her head. “It’s too late. It’s over now.”

A cry of anguish escaped Tanya’s throat. Eleazar and Carmen wrapped their arms around her, trying to calm her down.

“I’m sorry I didn’t see it sooner. I wasn’t watching. It was only when Bella asked about Kate and Garrett that I let my mind wander to them. If I had been paying closer attention then we could have done something!” Alice was overcome with despair.

“Don’t blame yourself, Alice.” Jasper pleaded with her. “This isn’t your fault.” He tried to soother her by pushing calm feelings into her but she knew better and was aware of his tactics.

Before another word could be said, the phone rang. Edward thought about letting it go but then worried that it might be important, it might be Kate needing their help. He ran into the kitchen and answered the cordless phone.

“Hello?”

“Edward!” It was Jacob’s voice. “Edward! She’s gone!” He was clearly frantic.

“Whoa, calm down Jake. Who’s gone?”

“Nessy! They took her! I don’t know what happened but now she’s gone! Edward, we’ve gotta find her! You have to help me…” Jacob’s voice was cracking as his emotions took over.

Edward was bewildered at what he was hearing. “Jake, listen to me very closely. Who took Renesmee?”

“I think it was the Volturi. Before I could even react or phase everything went black! The kind of blackout that Alec is capable of. I thought I was dead. I couldn’t hear anything, or see, smell, or even feel anything. After a while all my senses came back to me but Nessy was gone! Oh God, Edward, we have to find her…” Jacob was struggling trying to keep it together.

Bella was now at Edward’s side. “What happened? Is it Renesme?” Her golden eyes pleaded with Edward to tell her everything would be okay but he couldn’t lie to her.

Edward turned to face everyone in the living room, they all now had their eyes trained on him. “Renesmee has been captured as well.”

All Worlds Collide
Epilogue

Madrid, Spain
2 months after Volturi defeat

Augusto looked out over the city. It was sunset and the dying rays of sunlight glinted dully against his white skin. He had waited out the day in his little villa. He wanted to see her, the beautiful immortal, Imelda, who played him for such a fool. He had to find a way to win her heart. He had an idea. It had taken shape while the sun reigned and he’d contemplated what his actions might mean. He had heard the Volturi were no more. There would be no retribution, should this not work to his advantage. He knew how much women loved children. Well, perhaps he’d bring her one. After all, the Volturi were wrong about so many things. Surely they had exaggerated about the scourge the immortal children had visited upon the humans of the ancient world. And with modern psychology, surely there were more correct ways to teach young ones discipline. All he had to do was find just the right human child. And that was when he saw something that caused him pause. A family was getting out of their minivan after their daily routine. They had four children. Surely with such a brood the toddler would not be missed too badly. And the little girl was already cute. She smiled as her older brother took her from her car seat. She had dimples on both cheeks. Her short blonde hair curled around her cherubic face like a back-lit halo. She would soon be the perfect gift to present to his Imelda. All he had to do was wait until the child was put to bed for the night. Then he’d spirit her away and transform her into an immortal child. Then he’d present her to his love, and let her motherly instincts work their magic. He would soon be welcomed into her arms, as a father to this beautiful creation--his beautiful creation. He sighed in contentment and went out to hunt to prepare himself for his upcoming task. He’d decided not to feed from the little family. No, they had already given, though they didn’t realize it yet.

2 ½ months after Volturi defeat

Juan was eager and alert as he heard the sounds of someone arriving. He’d sent Emilio to Volterra to see if the rumors were true. Maria had not sent her latest newborns against them in over six months. There was talk she never would again. Talk that she’d met her demise in the heart of the Volturi stronghold. She’d had it coming. Juan ran a hand through his hair. He knew he’d have to strike fast if Maria were in fact, dead. He knew he’d have to work fast, create at least a dozen more newborns to take out her coven she’d left behind in Monterrey. Then they could consolidate their position. Of course, Juan knew he’d have to rely on stealth. He knew only too well how exacting the Volturi would be if he was discovered. There was no need for him to throw caution to the wind and end up sharing Maria’s fate. If he was quick, his coven could own all of Mexico outside of Mexico City itself. Just the thought had his lips curling up in a smile.
Emilio entered the villa. Though the night was deep Juan could easily see the jubilation on his brother’s face. He’d brought with him good news. Eager to hear it, Juan got right to the matter.

“You bring me good news?” Emilio nodded as his grin spread wide across his face. “Maria is dead then?”

“Oh yes, she is indeed.” But that wasn’t the end of the good news. “But brother there that is not the best of it. The Volturi are no more. Their castle has been raised to a pile of ash. They are gone. And their stupid rules with them. We can build our army. We can build it as large as we wish too. We can control all of Central America if we so choose.”

3 Months after Volturi defeat

Luli was in a state. She had been alive for three centuries and she was bored with the status quo. She was lonely and wanted to see a change in her limitless days. Some nomads had come through last week on their way to the sea with the shocking news that the Volturi had been defeated. Without fear of their brand of justice, she’d felt suddenly free. Free to act as she pleased. What was the point of living forever if you had to live that life always in the shadows? So as the morning sun’s morning rays were coming over the mountains, for the first time since opening her eyes to immortality, she was there to greet them. Well, the first time to do so in the middle of Tiananmen Square. Perhaps she’d do more than dazzle those who saw her. Maybe she’d stage her own massacre. But leave the survivors with a horror they’d not soon forget.

3 1/2 months after Volturi defeat

Christopher sat, leaning back against the bottom step of the Sun Temple, with Angelina's head resting in his lap. He was still unable to get over the fact that he no longer needed to avoid the sun's rays. Angelina however was lost in thought. She had tried everything she could think of to return them to their own time, their own dimension. She’d tried reversing the spell she believed had sent them into the Twilight reality, but it was no use, she’d even tried using her dream spell but that too had failed. Both Angelina and Christopher were facing a very real possibility that they were stuck in the books with no possible way out. Angelina wasn't ready to give up though. She had a new boost to her powers thanks to the vampire blood and venom mixture that now flowed within her.

Angelina sighed and tried yet again to think of other possible spells, while Christopher stroked her hair. They both heard the echo of footsteps on the stairs above them. They looked up simultaneously to witness Carlisle descending the steps and heading towards them.

"Oh good," he said, "I'm glad to find the two of you here. Samon has requested an audience with you. If you’re available now, he’s waiting in his inner chamber.”

"Of course," Angelina replied with a smile while getting to her feet. Angelina was always happy to speak to the perfected being, whom she’d worked with to restore Garrett. She wondered if he could advise her about their current predicament. It was his brother Llassa who had a hand in their arrival after all.

Christopher followed her lead and got to his feet as well, then took her right hand into his left. He’d yet to meet Carlisle’s new brother, Samon, and he couldn’t help the sudden wave of nerves that assailed him. Angelina felt him tense beside her and she gently massaged the back of his hand with her thumb.

She caught his eye and gave him a reassuring smile. “You have nothing to worry about Christopher. Really, Samon is about the most wonderful person you’ll ever meet.”

He gave her an impish grin. “At best, he could only be the second most interesting person I’ll ever meet.”
She looked confused, wondering if he was referring to one of the Cullens; and if so, which one. He read her confusion in her face. He took a sigh full of exasperation. He then further clarified by saying, “You are the most interesting person I’ll ever meet, love.”

Angelina rolled her eyes but smiled at his devotion. And she’d succeeded in distracted him from his bout of nerves. They both followed after Carlisle who turned on his heels and headed back up the steps leading the way.
Christopher entered the Sun Room with a sense of reverent awe. Stunned into silence, he gaped around him in astonishment as the natural sunlight that came through the windowed ceiling was magnified, glimmering off the ornate gold-plated wall carvings. The floor held an inset of tiles containing a colorful sun display as well.

He was practically pulled by Angelina across the opulent chamber as she followed Carlisle to the open door that led to Samon’s drum room. Angelina knew who would be waiting there for them. Christopher wasn’t so sure what to expect. He was surprised to find that Samon appeared as a brown haired man, who was of average stature and wore khaki slacks and a green cotton button down shirt. Christopher didn’t know what he’d expected—but it wasn’t someone so unassuming. When the man turned to greet them with a friendly smile, a wave of serenity flooded him and he relaxed even more.

It was a little unsettling for the vampire when Samon greeted him with his clear melodic voice was heard directly inside his head.

‘Welcome to my home Christopher. It is an honor to make your acquaintance. Please be at peace here in this place and know that you are loved more than you know.’

Samon first clasped shoulders with Carlisle in silent communication. He spoke directly to Carlisle’s mind, informing him of violations already committed by vampires since the demise of the enforcers of the Vampire world. He showed his brother exactly who had perpetrated each act and what they had done. They concurred that it was time to put a new form of government in place for the supernatural world; One that would be fair and impartial, representing all, but ready to punish those who insisted on calling attention to themselves, and endangering the world at large. It was the hope of all the Perfected Beings, that vampires would learn to curb their natural appetites and learn a page from the Cullen’s example of ethics.

After their brief mental communication, Carlisle silently exited the drum room, leaving Angelina and Christopher to speak with the perfected being, who many past generations had named ‘Apollo’. They practically held their breath and hoped that maybe Samon was about to give them a way to return home.

Samon suddenly reached into his pants pocket and produced a small black cell phone that he opened and put to his ear. He held out a hand to them, a gesture for them to wait a minute. They could both hear the voice from the other end of the conversation. It sounded oddly familiar and strangely out of place. He nodded while he listened and smiled at his guests.
.

"It has been my pleasure to speak with you once again my dear." Samon spoke into the receiver."Yes, she's here now. One moment please," Samon then extended his hand, which held his phone, out to Angelina. "Someone wishes to speak with you," he said with an all knowing smile.

Angelina looked to Christopher with questioning eyes. She knew the voice on the other end of the phone all too well. But how could it be possible for her cousin to call her here? Christopher nodded for her to take the call, so she stepped forward and took the phone from Samon’s outstretched hand, raising it too her ear.

"Hello?"

"Angie? Oh honey it's so good to hear your voice! How have you been? I knew you could do it! Your mom was always so worried about you, but I knew you could handle it all! I just knew it! I'm so very proud of you cuz"

Angelina's shocked eyes remained locked to Christopher's as she spoke into the phone. "Rowan?" she stammered.

"Of course it’s me, silly. I know that you and Christopher are both pretty confused right now, but please let me try to explain. This, my dear, sweet cousin, is all part of the prophecy that the two of you are meant to fulfill. The spell that you read, the one that you both had believed sent you into your favorite book series did much, much more than that Ange. You must understand, there are many other dimensions outside of the one that we all belong too, many other dimensions that make up this universe. By performing that spell, you weren't only interpreting your own dreams; you were actually starting the process to tear down the wall that separates our own dimension from that of your beloved Twilight characters. When you saved Edward's existence, you added to that process, causing the barrier, in turn, to grow that much thinner, weaker even. But, Angelina when you were attacked and Christopher had no choice but to change you, it put one of the last nails in the coffin. Sorry for my analogy, but there is only one step left that the two of you must take before you can truly understand what your union was always meant for. Once this step is accomplished, your prophecy will be fulfilled. Twilight will completely and fully exist in our world. The books, the movies, everything, all of it will be gone and only a select few will remember that any of it had ever been."

"What do we have to do now Ro?" Angelina asked trying to comprehend all that her cousin had just told her.

"That, honey I cannot tell you. The two of you must find it out on your own, but I will tell you this, I know that you will both make the right choice. I have much faith in both of you."

"I feel like I have much yet to learn about our family history and the powers that I now have," Angelina said into the phone.

"Oh you do Ange, but we have plenty of time for all of that. When you and Christopher return to the states, come to New Orleans for a visit."

Angelina promised her cousin that they would and hung up. She closed the small black cell phone and handed it back to Samon, who dropped it into his pocket with a smile.

"You may have existed in a separate worlds, but we all live for the same dreams," he told her.

Angelina and Christopher both nodded in agreement then turned to leave.

"One more thing before you go," Samon said. "I’ve asked Carlisle to gather our allies once more. In a world where vampires, wolves, and witches exist, I think we need to form a new council to oversee things. I would like for the two of you to remain here in the Amazon for this decision. It should be agreed upon by everyone." A wry smile played across the perfected beings face and he chuckled to himself with a shake of his head. He looked at Angelina and explained. “I was about to ask you to call the rest of the Cullens and the Quileutes and inform them of our plans, but knowing Alice…” He trailed off.

"She’s already seen my phone call." Angelina supplied with an answering grin.

“Maybe you’d better call her to confirm just the same, “Christopher piped up. “Just so she knows we followed up with her. Especially if this means we’ll be seeing more of them. That is one little vampire I don’t want to cross.” Christopher shuddered, making a face.

Samon laughed aloud. “Good thinking. I knew I liked you Christopher.” He clapped the vampire on the back and said good-bye as Angelina and Christopher made their way back outside. The afternoon sun beat down on them as they descended the numerous steps to the main plaza in Akahim. Of course, unlike her last trip to the Amazon jungle, this time Angelina was impervious to the sweltering humidity and heat.

Once outside Christopher handed Angelina his cell phone, she went into his contacts and pressed the button to dial Alice, who answered half way through the first ring.

"Angelina I knew you would call."

"Alice somehow I kinda figured you would." Both girls shared a laugh before Alice spoke again.

"So Samon wants us all back in the Amazon?"

"Yup."

"Okay, I'll tell Edward, Bella and the others."

"Oh and Alice...."

"Yeah I'll have Edward call Nessie and Jake, although I don't need a vision to know what their reaction will be."

"Also...."

"Yeah I know, you want me to tell the wolves too."
Again the girls laughed.

"Thanks Alice, see you soon." Angelina hung up and returned Christopher's phone to him.

"Well, looks like this will all be over soon," she told him.

Christopher swept a few strands of hair out of Angelina's face before pulling her into his loving embrace. "It has only just begun my love."

The Palace of the Jaguar King and Wolf Queen
Akakor, Brazil
4 months after Volturi defeat

The Romanians were the first to arrive at Leah and Nahuel’s palace in Akakor. They were eager to stake their claim. They were quickly followed by the Denali coven, Kate clung to Garrett's arm. All of the Cullens showed up next with a somewhat annoyed looking Renesmee and Jake. One by one, group by group, over the next few days, the allies returned to the Amazon jungle. Once everyone had arrived, Nahuel had everyone meet in his main council chamber. The walls were ornate and in the center of the room was a large table. He gestured for Carlisle to take the seat at the front, the chair that was usually reserved for himself. Then being the host to the proceedings he addressed the large assemblage of allies.

“Welcome again to Akakor. I am pleased that we meet under better circumstances than last time. But, now we must begin the arduous task of damage control. And so I will turn the duration of this meeting over to Carlisle Cullen, who will direct our discussion. Carlisle, the floor is yours.” Nahuel spoke clearly and politely. Then he walked to Leah’s side where she stood with the crowd that gathered around those sitting at the table.

"Thank you Nahuel, and damage control is an apt description.” Carlisle began before rising from his seat and addressing those present. “My friends, by now you should all know why it is that I have asked you here. To maintain our anonymity in the world around us, there must be accountability. And as corrupt as they were, the Volturi did provide that accountability. Already there have been new atrocities committed by those immortals who believe they will never have to answer for their crimes. This must stop immediately, and the best way is to make them accountable, make all of us accountable in the future. It is time to decide what system of government will replace the Volturi and who will represent this new council of order. This is something that must be agreed upon by all," Carlisle's eyes swept over the group as he spoke. "I suggest that we make nominations and vote on it."

Vladimir was quick to respond, "We would be more than happy to take care of governing for you. We were the ones in power before the Volturi began their power hungry grab and destroyed our loved ones. We have the expertise you require."

"I don’t think going back to the rule of the stone-age is quite what Carlisle had in mind," Kate interrupted adamantly.

Stefen replied to her in a sarcastic tone. "What, do you think your coven would be better suited? You’ve been around the block a few times yourselves."

"We would be!" Garrett stepped forward to stand in front of Kate who continued to glare at Stefen. “At least we’ve seen the importance of allowing others the chance to be self-governing first. Freedom must be paramount if we are to proceed.”

Members of the Quileute tribe were quick to insist the wolves be involved. They believed it would be only just, since Quil had given his life for this to come about. Soon the room was awash in murmurs and the meeting was on the verge of losing its order.

"Enough!" Carlisle called out to the crowd, some of whom were now openly disagreeing with each other.

It took a moment but finally they returned their attention to Carlisle as he began to speak once more.

"Calm down everyone. It is important that we listen to each other without resorting to arguing. It is more than civility we seek. We must learn to listen to each other and embrace our diversity. Back biting destroys what we are trying to create. It is counterproductive." he told them in a stern voice. "Now please remain civil while we attempt this again. Everyone who wishes to present a proposal should be treated with courtesy. We are all friends here after all." Carlisle admonished them. He waited a few moments before continuing, "My family and I will not be included in this vote as nominees. It was never our quest for power and I believe that is what this decision will come down to, power. And as we have seen time and time again in our long-lived existences, power easily corrupts those that wield it. So we must choose carefully. Consider only those whose conduct has been above reproach; Those who would not be easily swayed by the weight of their station; Those who are trusted by everyone in the supernatural community."

"What if three couples were selected to represent what the original Volturi couples were meant to be?" Eliazar suggested. “With these six, we could have the different supernatural communities represented. Then when the need arises, they could ask for our assistance in apprehending those breaking laws of our anonymity. I would lean towards a democratic system myself. The three pairs could meet once a year or more often when problems arise so resources could be pulled to deal with any threat to our peace.”

Carlisle thought on it for a moment then nodded to him. "I think that is a wonderful idea. Who would like to nominate a couple?” The Romanian vampires hands shot up before Carlisle could continue, “…and please do not nominate yourselves." They lowered their hands with scowls on their faces.

Tanya raised her arm to get his attention; she stood towards the back of the crowd near the left side of the giant staircase. "I nominated Leah and Nahuel. I think that each couple should represent different families. So Leah would represent the shape shifters and Nahuel could represent the hybrid vampires." Tanya shrugged as she used the classification for half-vampires/half-humans she’d heard Eliazar dub them when he’d first met Renesmee

Carlisle smiled with a nod. "That is a wonderful nomination and I will second it."

The tribe seemed happy with this suggestion so they each spoke up. "Me too!" "Yeah" "Sounds good to me."

Jacob grinned from ear to ear as he nudged his pack mate’s shoulder. “Wow Leah, your title of ‘Wolf Queen’ just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Don’t let it go to your head, okay.”

“Don’t worry Jake. You’re still the alpha of our pack. I’m no threat to your territory.” Leah teased while mussing his hair up.

“As I recall, I never went looking to be an alpha.” He said in mock sarcasm.

Nessie had come up and nuzzled her way into his embrace. “But I like you being an alpha. You wear it well.” He looked down at her as she spoke. A grin threatened as she continued. “It makes you look very manly--and so handsome. I like a man who takes charge and can show his woman...”

“Nessie!” Both Jacob and Edward said at once as they saw where Nessie was going with her comment. Jacob’s face turned red under his darker skin tones. Edward looked shocked and trying to reign in his composure.
Emmett laughed aloud and said, “Is Jake a stud muffin, Renesmee?”

Carlisle quickly brought the meeting back to order by pressing forward with the matter at hand.

"Okay then is there anyone who would object to this?" Carlisle asked and even the Romanians remained silent. "Leah, Nahuel, would you accept the position of first couple in our new council?"

Leah and Nahuel exchanged looks then each looked at their children and back to Carlisle. "We would be honored." Nahuel said as he looked lovingly into his wife's eyes. “It looks like our job description just got re-vamped dear.”

Leah leaned into him and breathed deeply. “You are so humorous. And you’re right. I suppose this new detail of our responsibilities will be something you can really sink your teeth into, right?”

“You are correct, as usual. I love a woman who possesses such wit and wisdom.” Nahuel said so quietly that only the closest immortals heard it. “But I think you’re just sucking up to me.”

"Thank you both.” Carlisle said to the two Amazonian leaders before addressing the rest of the congregation. “We still need two more couples, who would like to nominated next?" Carlisle asked.

Angelina smiled and giggled slightly as she looked to Christopher. He narrowed his eye brows to question her, when he heard Alice's voice.

"I nominated Angelina and Christopher. He could represent the vampires from the other dimension—since our worlds are really colliding, They will expect to have equal representation." she smiled to him. "No offense, and Angie would represent magic in all forms."

Benjamin nodded in agreement with Alice. "I'll second that," he said.

"We'll vote for them as well." Zafrina said, her and her sisters each stood with a hand up in the air.

Christopher looked down at the still giggling Angelina and spoke in a whisper. "Did you foresee this coming?"

"Yup I had a little vision just before Alice said it."

"A little vision, love?" Christopher teased her as he wrapped his arm around her waist and held her close to his side.

"I agree with this nomination also and so I ask is there anyone here who opposes Angelina and Christopher being our second couple?" Carlisle waited then turned to Angelina.

She whispered in an excited voice to Christopher. "I know now what Rowan meant."

"Do the two of you accept this nomination?" Carlisle asked them.

Christopher, whose eyes remained locked to his love's, nodded to her and smiled. Angelina kissed his cheek, and then turned away from him slightly to face Carlisle. "We would be honored."

"Wonderful, now one last couple should make for the perfect council."

Everyone was silent as they contemplated who would be the final couple nominated. Carlisle was as surprised as the rest when it was Vladimir who raised his hand.

“If we can’t talk you out of your decision, then I think the last couple should be Benjamin and Tia. They are fair and impartial. Benjamin represents gifted vampires and Tia could represent the rest of us immortals from this dimension. Heaven knows Amun tried to turn him into a weapon for years to no avail.”

Everyone was nodding thoughtfully as Vladimir spoke. It was Stefen who spoke quickly on his heels before Carlisle could ask for a second.

“And we offer our services as advisors to Benjamin and Tia, as we are fairly close to their location and have nothing better to do.” His tone was still sour but he seemed mollified by Vladimir’s suggestion.
It was Maggie who quickly seconded Benjamin and Tia’s nomination. They were quickly voted in.
Then the three couples took seats at the front of the room. It was Benjamin who wasted no time moving on to the first order of business.

“Okay, so we’re all agreed that this will be our new form of government. I suppose there is no time like the present to put it to work.” His cheerful disposition remained even as he spoke seriously. He turned to Carlisle. “Perhaps you’d like to tell us what you know of these infractions against our secrecy that have already occurred. Then we can enlist the help of those present to help us deal with the situations they have created.”

***

And so began the beginning of a new order, in a new beginning of a new world. A world that brought together those within the supernatural communities. All of them had adjustments to make as the two worlds collided. But it was just those differences that became their strengths.

The End

A/N: Me and the girls would like to thank you for sticking it out with us and following our story. You guys are the best!!!! Also, we would like to congratulate Lynn, who gave birth to her daughter day before yesterday! Here is a pic I got off facebook... Her name is Ellie Kieu

Lynn says (About Ellie):

I'm so excited about her, I just want to share with my old friends that I don't get to chat with any more.

We also have missed Lynn. You may have noticed some typos and errors in this chapter. That was due to Lynn being 'due' and not able to catch it in time. Sorry guys!
I hope sometime in the near future you talented women get together to give life to a new era in this well written epic!! I salute you ladies as a lifetime lover of all things written.
