Blood of Another Chapter 1 The Secret Rose
It had been an exciting and harrowing year. I traveled the world with my true love Jasper and I got to see places that I never would have seen as the simple human girl Bella Swan. I had blossomed into a gorgeous vampire. I still had my clumsy moments, flying into poles and shut windows accidentally. But, I guess some things are meant to stay the same. It did get weird seeing missing persons posters hanging everywhere with my face on them. I wished I could let Charlie know that I was fine and experiencing a wonderful life with the man I love.
I clung to Jasper’s side as we walked into a strange place. Others of our kind danced merrily in a huge ball room. Alice was on Edward’s arm, and Carlisle had Rosalie by his side. The Olympic coven had been invited to Volterra for the Baby Vampire Ball.
“Welcome, Cullen clan!” a man rejoiced, greeting us. “Oh,” his eyes landed on me. “And who might this lovely little rose be, hmm?” He kissed my hand.
“Bella, this is Aro,” Jasper informed me. “He is the ruler of all vampires.”
“Are you a king?” I asked.
Aro laughed. “Only of the vampire world.” He looked at Carlisle. “You never told me you were extending your crop.”
Carlisle let out a low breath. “Bella was an unexpected addition to our coven.” He glared at Jasper, then looked quickly back to Aro with a smooth smile. We sat down at a table with a white satin cloth covering. Tall glasses filled with a thick red liquid set before each chair.
“Details, details,” Aro urged. I was between Jasper and Edward.
“Let’s just say I fell in love,” Jasper smiled at me and squeezed my hand. “Again.” Aro and Jasper laughed together. Jasper and Aro seemed to be the only lively people at our table. Everyone else was in a deep funk. Alice tried to seem chipper, I knew she was really unhappy. The fake smile plastered on her face bothered me. In a quick moment, I caught her glance up at Jasper and he received it with a weary smile. It worried me to see that they had obvious unfinished business.
I talked to keep my mind off of them. “We’ve been all over the world,” I beamed. “I owe it all to Jasper.”
Aro was ecstatic. He was creepily happy, the happiest vampire I had ever met. “I’m so glad to hear you are having so much fun as a newborn. I’m especially glad that your coven has brought you to meet me.” He stared at me, his eyes big with curiosity.
“It’s a requirement for all covens,” Carlisle said. “New vampires have to be introduced to the leader of us all, so that they know who is in charge.”
“And that they know who they will have to answer to if they break any of our laws,” Edward added. “Consequences are deadly real.”
I paused to let that sink in.
“Now, now,” Aro broke in. “Let’s not scare away Bella with such talk. We are here to have fun and be merry.” Aro raised a glass. The rest of us followed suit. “To new beginnings.”
“To new beginnings,” we repeated, and toast.
“You are but a yearling, but I’m sure time will have something amazing for you in store,” Aro said. Edward shot him a peculiar look. Aro sipped from his glass, and eyed me as if I were the most interesting little thing he’s met so far.
Later, Jasper and I were out on the balcony looking up at the pretty silver moon. The wind blew my long, glossy hair to the back of my dark blue gown. “What did Aro mean when he was talking about time and me being a yearling?”
Jasper wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer. “Some vampires develop a power over many years. Some gain a power after only a few days of being vampire. Since you don’t seem to have one yet, it may take a long time to get here. He’s just curious about what your power will be. Although, it is possible you might not get one at all. That’s all he’s really after. I wouldn’t think on it too much, darling. He can’t add you to his collection of freaks unless you go of your own free will. And I know you have better sense than to want to be a part of his magickal powers collection.”
“He seems to think I don’t have much sense.”
“He’s just putting on a good show, making himself seem like a warm person with a good heart and good intentions.”
“So, he’s an evil ruler and his kindness is a charade?”
Jasper shrugged. “Everyone knows he’s an evil bastard except him, not that we’re complaining. We are a rude breed and it’s good that we have a higher power that can relegate when something gets out of hand. The Volturi are necessary, as much as we hate when they get involved.”
“They’re like the vampire police.”
“Right,” Jasper said, planting a kiss to my forehead. “Get comfortable. These things usually last a while.”
“How long?”
“Until ,Aro has been introduced to every new vampire and their powers. You can say he doesn’t like to be left in the dark. It’s one of the Volturi’s many ways of keeping tabs on all things vampire.”
“It’s a good thing then. Imagine what the world would be like if vampires ran amuck and did whatever what was on their mind, no matter how evil or destructive,” I said.
“Their true worry is any humans finding out about our kind,” Jasper said. “They could care less about vampires being destructive, as long as they do it in secret.”
I went back to our table. Jasper went to speak with Carlisle. There was a note on my seat, with my name on it in gilded letters, and a stem poking out. I flipped open the note and a red rose fell out of the paper. I read the note to myself.
For Bella.
Jasper came up behind me, edging me forward. I laughed and twisted around to hug him.
“This is so sweet. Thank you,” I said. He looked peculiarly at me.
“What’s so sweet?”
“This,” I said, showing him the note. He took it.
“I didn’t give this,” he said, alarmed. Then, he smiled. “I should have known others would be after my girl. How could they not be, with your beauty outshining every female present.”
I melted against his cream vest, and we kissed.
We found Carlisle, Rosalie, and Alice. Edward was talking to a tall, statuesque blonde. A minute couldn’t get by without a woman throwing herself in front of him. He was always polite with them, giving them false impressions.
Aro approached us with a skinny woman in a backless dress.
“Bella, this is my wife, Sulpicia,” Aro said. She said hello and gave a light nod and smile.
“I hope you are having a wonderful time,” she said it like a question.
“Yes, I am,” I said, quickly.
“If you haven’t booked an hotel yet, we’re more than happy to let you stay the night here in the castle. The Denali’s are staying, and so are many others.”
“You have that much room?” I asked, shocked.
“That won’t be necessary,” Carlisle jumped in. Aro looked at him, his gaze daring him to continue. “Well, it has been quite cozy here,” Carlisle changed his tone. “Your compassion is unmatched, Sulpicia.”
Sulpicia smiled at him, and gave him a lustful grin behind Aro’s back. Carlisle faked clearing his throat. Edward chuckled at the awkward exchange.
“Come, Sulpicia,” Aro said. “Let our guests get settled for the night.” As they walked off, Sulpicia looked over her shoulder at Carlisle and winked.
We stared at Carlisle, as if wanting an explanation. “That woman is trying to get me killed,” Carlisle said, under his breath. We all laughed at his uneasiness.
Later, Jasper and I had picked a room for the night. We weren’t sure for how long we were going to stay in Volterra. I fluffed my pillow. “Where are the others?” I asked.
“Alice and Rosalie are sharing a room with the Denali girls, and Carlisle and Edward are sharing. They are helping each other fight off the ladies,” Jasper said. I laughed, and then crawled into bed.
“Tomorrow night, I’ll show you the sights,” he said. “And we’ll have dinner before we leave. I want you to have a taste of Italy.”
“I love Italian food,” I said, sadly, remembering I couldn’t touch the stuff ever again, or any human food.
“I’ll prepare you a lovely Italian cuisine.” Jasper flashed his fangs. I knew he wasn’t talking about actual food. He crawled in next to me.
“I can’t wait.”
“I will kill a whole village for you, my lover,” he said, brushing my hair out of my eyes.
“I will never be that thirsty,” I responded. “We should only take what we need and not kill for silly reasons like that.”
“I’ve upset you. I was trying to be romantic,” he said.
“I still have a soft spot for humans. It’s tiny, but it’s there. And it throbs whenever you say such things. I keep thinking what if Charlie became someone’s food.”
He put his finger on my lips. I hushed and gazed into his lucid eyes. “I will never let anyone harm Charlie.”
“How?” I asked. He sighed.
“You worry too much,” he said. “Charlie will live out his life. No one is going to grab him. Trust me.”
“If he was one of us, then.”
“Bella, no.” His eyes were serious.
“He’ll be safer that way. He’ll be with us and we won’t have to worry about vampires getting him.”
“You’re the only one who’s worrying. Call and check on him every day if you wish, but you will not turn him into one of us.”
“Why not?”
“It’s your father. It would be weird.”
“No, it wouldn’t.”
“You just miss him.” He cupped my face. “That’s all this nonsense is. He is a cop and a damn good one. He is fine. Let it go.”
I laid down my head to rest. I couldn’t let it go, mentally. I had to find some way to see Charlie or at least let him get the message that I was alright. I turned on my side, away from Jasper’s view, and twirled a petal from the rose between my fingers. Who would send me, a spoken for woman, a rose?

A little bit of mystery and intrigue to start of the sequel. Can't wait to read more!

great start....please post more soon!

Chapter 2 Guilt Ringing in My Heart
We rested until the new night was upon us. I sat up to an envelope and a glass of ‘wine’ sitting on the night stand, both left by a brave human maid. I wiped my eyes and opened the envelope and pulled out a letter.
Bella,
I hope you really enjoyed the rose I sent. I loved seeing your happy reaction and hope that one day you could be that happy with me.

The letter was anonymous. Jasper turned on his side. I shoved the note back into its envelope. Who would send me this? I was appauled. I wanted to set fire to it. Jasper rubbed my thigh, causing me to freeze up.
“What’s with that face you’re making,” he said, as if I looked ugly.
“Nothing. I’m fine,” I said, hastily shoving the note to the back of the drawer in the nightstand. Why was I being this way? I had nothing to hide. Maybe, I should show Jasper the note and he could get to the bottom of this. A part of me wanted to know before he did, who this mystery person was. I was torn.
Jasper had promised me a romantic dinner. By the time I was really thirsty, I could not find him. He had run off to somewhere. I found myself alone with Caius and Alice. We were in the kitchen area. Two human maids and a human butler were preparing blood for some vampires.
“Alice,” Rosalie entered. “We were looking for you. There’s a young man who is interested in you. His name is Garrett and he’s quite charming.” Rosalie stopped for a moment when she saw I was present. “Oh. Hi, Bella.”
“Hi,” I said.
“Don’t bother,” Alice said, downing a glass of blood. “I haven’t been in the mood for love for a long while now. Go back and tell that Garrett person not to waste his time on me.”
“Alice, I can’t believe what I’m hearing,” Rosalie said. “He’s really nice. He’s asked for you specifically.”
“I’m not interested!” Alice slammed the glass down on the steel counter and it shattered in her grip. Her face glazed over with shock. She weeped and fell into Rosalie’s arms. Rosalie glared at me as if I had done something terrible. She walked her out of the kitchen.
“What’s her problem?” Caius asked.
“Me, I’m her problem,” I choked up, and darted out of the kitchen. I wanted to go hide. It has been a year and I still felt like the ‘other woman.’ I wasn’t going to let her unhappiness ruin mine.
Later, I went and knocked on her door. Since no one came, I walked into Rosalie and the Denali girls hovering over Alice as she sobbed.
“There she is,” Rosalie said. “It’s the girl of the hour.”
The blonde with light green eyes stood and walked over to me. “I’m Kate Denali. We didn’t get a chance to meet last night.” I shook her hand.
“I’m Bella,” I said.
“This is my coven sister, Carmen,” Kate said, gesturing to the dark haired woman consoling Alice.
“Hi.” I said. I turned my attention to Alice. “Alice, are you alright?”
“Of course not!” Rosalie spat. “She’s so far gone, she’s talking in tongs.”
“She’s right,” Kate said. “Alice is not herself.”
It seemed serious now. “Alice, are you sick?” I asked, concerned.
“She’s gone mad,” Carmen’s deep voice said.
“What happened?”
“She wants to join the Volturi,” Rosalie said, looking at me. Alice wept. “Can’t you see how useless she feels? She’s a mess.”
“Thank you, Rosalie. That will be all now,” Alice chirped. She stood up, breaking from Carmen and Rosalie. “I need to move on. I can’t be around him while he’s in love with someone else. I need to find a new coven, a new home.”
“Alice, no,” I begged.
“Well, I can’t stay around here pretending to be happy for you, Bella. You ruined my life,” Alice said. “You single- handedly took away the only man that’s ever cared for me, and I will never come to terms with it. You broke more than our bond, Bella. You broke my heart. Don’t think he won’t leave you for another. He’ll do it to you.”
“Jasper’s not like that,” I countered. “He loves me.”
“You are 18 years old, the youngest person in this room by centuries. You don’t know anything about love,” Alice said, approaching me until our noses touched. “You’re what they call something new. You’re the shiny new toy, Bella. When you start to lose your luster, he’ll return to me. Don’t think you know him better than I do.”
Rosalie took her by the arm and they left the room.
“She’s not really going to join the Volturi, is she? They’ll just use her. They don’t care about her,” I said.
“Tell that to her,” Kate said. “I don’t think she cares about that. She just wants to get away.”
“Somebody has to talk her out of it,” I said.
“Don’t worry,” Carmen said. “Carlisle is not leaving Volterra without all of his coven members. He won’t let anything happen to Alice.”
“But, he can’t stop her if she wants to stay,” I said.
“He’ll talk her down. No worries,” Carmen said, putting her hand over my shoulder. For all her effort, the comfort just rolled down and hit the floor. I felt helpless and worse, I felt responsible.
I was looking for Jasper and ran into Alice coming out of Carlisle and Edward’s room. She was buttoning up her top.
“What were you doing in there?” I asked.
“ I was being comforted,” Alice said.
“Did you talk to Carlisle?”
“Don’t worry your little head, Bella. I’m not staying here. I’d rather sleep with a pack of dogs than spend another night in this shabby, colorless castle and Jane.” She shuttered. “That girl gives me the heeby jeebies.”
Alice shifted her weight and finished fixing her clothes. “I feel much better now.” She passed me too closely, almost knocking me over. I burst through the door. Edward looked up. If there ever was a face more guilty than mine, it was his. He was fixing his belt.
“Edward,” I said. I turned around so he could finished getting decent. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I’m not naked,” he said.
“I’ve seen you naked before,” I retorted. Then, I winced, and regretted bringing up the memory. “Where’s Carlisle?” I changed the subject, which seemed to bother him.
“He’s around,” he said, standing up. He stepped towards me.
“I’m not even going to ask. I don’t want to know,” I said.
“Good. It’s not your business, anyway.” His voice was deep, cold, and harsh. He walked out, leaving me standing alone like an idiot.
I eventually found Jasper. Well, he found me.
“Bella, sorry I took so long. I was trying to make everything perfect,” he said, holding my shoulders. He led me onto the terrace of the castle. There was a table for two and a glass bowl in the center of the table. The candlelight was soothing and helped lighten the edge I was feeling. I froze when I noticed something was moving inside the bowl. Jasper nudged me forward.
“What the heck… is that thing?” I asked. He pulled out my chair and sat me in it. He sat down at the other end of the table. I stared at the moving red blob inside the glass bowl.
“It’s a heart,” Jasper said, with a smile. I bucked my eyes, baffled and a little horrified.
“It’s still beating.”
“I know right? Isn’t it great?” he said.
“How… romantic,” I said, not wanting to hurt his feelings. He took notice to my questionable expression, and passed me a fork from a wrapped napkin.
“Buon appetito,” he said.

Not quite what she expected...

I think Edward is sent her the rose and the note with the wine.  Poor alice, hopefully things turn out ok.  can't wait to read your next update!

Chapter 3 The Confession
After our somewhat romantic evening, Jasper and I were walking back to our room. I slid my hand inside of his and he knew I had something on my mind.
“Alright. Out with it,” he egged softly.
“I’m worried about Alice,” I said. “Have you talked to her lately?” I could tell he wanted to squash this conversation already by the way he sighed.
“No, I haven’t.”
“But, you see her every day.”
“That doesn’t mean I have to talk to her.”
“She’s upset,” I said. He whirled me around in front of him.
“About what?” His eyes were sharp.
“The break up,” I hesitated.
“I can’t help the way things turned out,” he said. “She’ll just have to learn to accept that I’ve fallen in love with you.”
“She’s not taking it so well,” I said. “She’s thinking about joining the Volturi guard. Did she say anything to you about it?”
He shook his head. “No, she didn’t. Carlisle would not allow it anyway. Alice is coming home with us.”
“Nobody can make her. Your bond with her is broken. She’s free.”
“She was always free. Being bonded doesn’t mean you lose your freedom. Just because ours is broken, doesn’t mean I will let her do stupid things. I’m still watching out for her. That hasn’t changed. It never will.”
My expression hardened. "She still means something to you."
He brushed my cheek with the back of his knuckles. “Don’t fret.”
“I can’t help feeling guilty,” I confessed. “Do you have that feeling?”
He chuckled. “No. I feel no shame, and you shouldn’t either. I have done no wrong. My heart ached for someone else. What is so bad about that? We can’t keep everyone happy all the time.”
I let a smile come onto my face. “You’re right. We didn’t commit any crime. We belong together.”
“That’s more like it,” he jeered. We walked into our bedroom to a little surprise. There was a rose on our bed, thick with petals. By Jasper’s narrowing reaction, I knew it wasn’t from him. He walked to the side of the bed and stared at it as if it was something criminal. He looked over at me for an explanation, and I shrugged.
“This is getting out of hand,” he said. “When I find out who is sending you flowers, I will kill him.”
I bucked my eyes. “Don’t say that. It’s for you,” I lied.
“For me?”
“I put it there for you. It was meant to be a romantic gesture.” I lowered my eyes. “Surprise.”
He sighed, allowing the anxiousness to deflate. “Darling,” he reached for me. “Thank you. It’s very sweet of you.” He kissed my temple and I leaned against his chest, relieved. Then a thought crossed my mind. Why am I protecting such a person? This person has no respect for Jasper or me for that matter. Jasper put the rose between the pages of a book, as a bookmark. He admired it, with a loving gaze.
On the third night of our stay, I waltzed around the empty ballroom by myself. Aro had invited many to dinner in the dining hall. I wasn’t feeling well, so I stepped out. I sat down in a chair and pulled a rose from my pocket. It was the first rose. I sniffed at its rouge petals. Footsteps interrupted the moment. Then, I felt a hand on the back of my chair. I quickly stood and spun around.
“Edward.” My lashes flew up. “What are you doing here?”
“I came to check on you,” he replied. “You rushed out as if something were wrong.”
“Nothing is wrong. I’m fine.”
He looked at the rose in my hand, and smirked. “A beautiful flower for a beautiful girl.”
I stared at him. His green eyes darted to me with mischief in them. “You. You sent these.” I pulled a bunch of petals from my pocket and they scattered to the floor. He grabbed my hand and pulled me close.
“Of course it was me. Who did you think it was?”
“I had no idea.”
He pinched my chin and smiled. I didn’t know how to respond. He turned his head and leaned down for my lips. I pushed him back and fell over the chair. He reached down to help me up, but I refused his help.
“Are you crazy?” I asked, with bulging eyes. “Do you have a death wish or something?”
“I’ve always had a death wish, Bella. Before I met you, I always wanted to die, but I never had the courage to actually throw myself into the sun’s eye. That wish is gone, now. You are what I wish for now.”
“It was a rhetorical question.”
He clutched my body, his cool breath caressing my neck. My eyes rolled back and I almost fainted. How was it he still affected me, even when I am vampire. He brought up my thighs, lifting me off the floor and landing me on the edge of a table. Our lips touched, and my arms wrapped around his neck, so that he couldn’t let go. Our kiss was broken, so that I could speak.
“This is risky,” I breathed.
“I’m willing to take a chance. I’m willing to die for you, Bella.” He kissed my neck, and I pulled him to me as close as what was possible. Slow footsteps broke into the room. He pulled away and put me on my feet. We looked up and saw Marcus, a really tall, gloomy vampire with dark hair and eyes.
“Jasper sent me to check on you, Bella,” he lagged. His eyes crossed to Edward with a warning glare. Edward stepped forward and followed him back into the dining hall. I went back as well and took my place next to Jasper. Alice was across from us. She looked away when I looked at her, making me feel like a criminal.

Dangerous situation!  What will Marcus do?

post the next chapter soon i love this!!
