Prologue

Life isn’t a fairytale. I always thought I would be rescued by a knight in shining armor. But the truth
is, no. That would never happen in real life. Never.

Reality is a whole lot meaner. It doesn’t give you what you want. And sometimes it doesn’t
give you what you need. But you have to live through it.

You have to live through brick by boring brick.

PART ONE: SIGHTING

I walked down the shore. The sun was setting which gave a beautiful glow to the ocean. It made me remember why I loved it here. California

I finally arrived to the beach house where I called home. I crept through the sliding back door.
The house was dark, but that didn’t mean anyone was asleep or out.

“There you are Sam,” my mom said turning the light on in the living room. “Where’ve you
been?”

“I was just hanging out on the beach,” I told her.

She raised an eyebrow incredulously. “With your friends?”

I nodded. “Yeah. I’m going upstairs.”

I ran up the stairs into my room and shut the door. I lay down on my bed and stared up
at the ceiling.

No, I wasn’t out with my friends, I had lied about that. Instead, I was out by myself doing the hobby I was known for. I was
photographing people on the beach. As I was taking pictures of the usual
surfers and girls trying to flirt with the lifeguards, I came across this really cute guy. He must've been new
because I had never seen him on the beach before. I wasn’t the only one
who noticed him either.

As I stared like a dumb fool in awe at him, he saw me and smiled back.

I knew this wasn’t going to be my perfect fairytale, but I could dream, couldn’t I?

So, as I lay in bed, I thought about him. His face went through my mind a million times. I had memorized every feature.
The weird thing was I felt like I knew everything about him. But I didn’t even
know his name.

I felt like I was in love.

Summary:
Samantha Raynes (Sam) always thought life was a fairy tale and believed in love at first sight. But she leans that in life, its a little bit more difficult. She meets Jake Winston, a really nice guy with a big secret. He's from a magical world. Samantha enters the land of impossible as she finds love and life.

I woke up to the sun rising. I decided to take a quick walk on the beach.
Only few people were out at the early hour. I looked over and saw a familiar face at the shoreline. It was my dream guy, the one I thought I was in love with.
I went over and sat down a couple of feet away from him.
“Hey,” he said. His voice a music melody. The one I had been waiting for all my life.
“Hi.” My voice had no comparison whatsoever.
He looked better than he had last night if that was possible.
He looked over at me, his eyes liquid pools of a blue green wonder.
“I’m Jake, Jake Winston.” He held out his hand.
I shook it but wouldn’t let go. “Sam, Same Raynes.”
He let go of my hand, loosening my tight grip. “I saw you yesterday on the beach.”
“Yeah, that was me.” I smiled.
“I just moved here yesterday,” he explained.
Good, he was staying.
“Really? I mean, I can show you around sometime,” I told him trying to keep my cool.
“That would be nice.” He shot me a glorious smile hat made my heart melt. I was trying not to show what I was feeling, but I couldn’t help it. “I’m free today.”
Whoa, did that mean he actually like me? I thought it did.
“Then, it’s a date.”

this is amazing!! I just love the way they flirt and it's so obvious :D it reminds me of myself

PART TWO: BUTTERFLIES

“You did not,” Jake said as we walked along the beach. The sun was setting. We had been out together all day.
“What can I say? I am not your average girl.”
He smiled at me. Then, he turned his head off in another direction as if he was looking for something.
He grabbed my arm.
“I want to show you something,” he said.
“Well, it’s getting late. I need to get home.” My mom was probably worrying about me again.
“Come on, it’s really cool.”
He pulled me along down the beach off over the sand dunes to a place that looked like it had been deserted for a while.
“Uh, yeah, this is cool.” I looked around. Nothing special. Just a littered beach, that’s all.
“This isn’t it. There’s more.”
He walked me over to a boulder which I realized had an opening big enough for a well sized human to fit through. He didn’t go in yet. Instead, he paused to turn to me.
“Firs, I want to tell you something. I know you think that this wild California life is the most exciting place of wonder ever. But there’s more to life than you think. There are places you’ve never heard of, things you would never imagine.”
I stared at him incredulously. “What are you talking about?”
“Sam, I’m going to take you to a world where anything is possible. Are you ready for that?”
I took a large gulp. Of course, I thought he was crazy, but he seemed so serious. I was a little scared. I didn’t know what was coming. But I was ready for it. I was ready for anything.
I nodded.
He took my hand and we went through the whole. It was dark. I didn’t know how he was able to find his way around. But he kept walking.
We were walking downhill, I could tell. So it was a magical underworld.
I finally saw a glimmer of light shining through. More and more light flooded the cave.
Jake stopped and turned to me. “Close your eyes,” I told me.
I did as he said but continued walking being guided by him.
We finally stopped. That meant we were finally at the mouth of the cave. And that meant we were finally in the world of wonder.
“Open your eyes.”

I opened my eyes to a place so magical, it was too hard to describe. It was so bright, so colorful. Just like a picture book. Except, this was real
There were big willows everywhere. The sky was a cover of twinkling stars. Flowers and vines were on every visible area. It was almost like a Candyland. A million butterflies flooded down from the sky.
"What do you think?" Jake asked.
I looked around at the word around me. "It's amazing. What is this place?"
"This is where I'm from. A land full of magic and mystery. It's call Tritopia. A wonderful world you have yet to explore."
"You live here? I thought you just moved to California."
He was mystery. There was so much I didn't know about him. He was magical and a mystery.
"I lied. I didn't want to freak you out. But now, you know."
I lifted my finger up as a butterfly danced on it.
"Amazing," I murmured. "What were you doing up there then?"
"I was trying to find you."
I looked up at him. The butterfly flew away.
"Me? Why?"
"You belong in my world. You are meant to be here. You are the chosen one."
