Summary-
Autumn is 14 and has lost a great friend, April. She has no friends and her parents don't want her. Autumn is depressed and needs to find herself. One day, Jace comes to her school and wants to help her. Will she let him or will she block him out of her life?
Chapter 1(Part 1)- Car Crash
The rain was pouring all over my body just like the hot tears ran down my cheeks. I couldn't believe my best friend died because of some stupid drunk driver, it felt like my whole world fell upside down. I have no more friends and I'm sure my parents wouldn't care if I ran away actually they wouldn't even know i'm gone. I looked at April's death box and thought, Why? Why, did it have to be April. Why couldn't it have been someone else. I know that was selfish of me but we were best friends since 3rd grade when we met each other over a brownie she brought. Somehow I ended up on the floor crying over the spot she was buried under but I managed to pick myself up and walk home in the rain.Once I got home I took a shower for about an hour and a half and put on my jean shorts and my white tank top. I laid on my purple and neon green covers and started reading one of my favorite books The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks.

Chapter 1(Part 2)-Car Crash(Flashback)

Flashback:
RING,RING,RIIINNNGGG!!!!!
"Hello?" I asked answering the phone.
"May I speak to Autumn Smith?" The unfamiliar women voice asked.
"That's me, who's this?" I asked the lady.
"This is Amy Johnson, I work with the fire rescue, do you know a April Miller?"
"Yes, why, what happened is she alright?" I was getting worried now.
"Um, she has been in an car accident, I'm sorry but she has passed away and---" At that moment the phone fell out of my hands. I couldn't believe this, why is this happening to me. I picked up the phone and asked " How did the car accident happen?" " A drunk driver crashed into her and her parents car and the family's car flipped over and is in really,really horrible shape." she had said. " Are Mr. and Mrs. Miller alright and the driver?" I asked I needed to know it wouldn't be fair if it was only April that didn't make it through. She wanted to be a Poet/Writer/Doctor, how is she supposed to do that now, I lost my bestfriend because of a stupid drunk driver. I was crying so hard now I had to ask the lady to repeat what she said " They are all alright but Mrs.Miller has some severe injuries and Mr.Miller is resting at the hostpital, the driver only has a few bruises."
End of Flashback
I didn't even start my book because of my flashback. I still couldn't believe why did April lose her life it should've been me. I don't need it, she needs it more than me, everyone loved her and she knew what she wanted to do in life. But I guess God ran out of Angels and knew April would be the best Angel and she isn't gone she's still alive in my memories.

Chapter 2- Struggle

School:
The day after the funeral I managed to wake up and go to school. I thought about ditching class but I knew April would want me to get good grades and an education.I took a shower nd went to my room to pick out my clothes. I wore my purple tank top with black skinny jeans and my gold ballet shoes, I wore the bracelet April gave me when we were in 6th grade and felt a tear trickle down my cheek. I walked to school which was only a few blocks away. Once I got to school I went to my locker and opened it, inside was a picture of me and April during the summer playing with the sprinklers.
Flashback:
"April stop playing with the sprinklers your gonna get sick!"
"I don't care, come on Autumn, You never have fun."
"Ugh! Fine just this once, okay?"
"Sure." I ran out in my clothes and started jumping around in the water with her. She was right it was so much fun.
End of Flashback:
I got my books out and closed my locker. I turned around and saw a boy looking at me, he had dirty blonde hair and brownish eyes. I turned my head and started blushing, he was really cute. No, Autumn, you can't fall for this guy, I thought to myself. I started walking to my first period class which was Science. I asked Mrs. Hamilton if I could sit in the back and she said "Okay, I'm really sorry for what happend to your friend, go ahead and sit in the back if it makes you more comfortable." I forced a smile and said thanks. I was the first and only student in their before the second bell rang and I was really bored. A few minutes later the class started piling with kids. We were learning about kinetic and potential energy, throughout the whole thing I was doodling in my notebook. For some reason I kept thinking about that kid in the hallway. What's his name? Will I have any classes with him? Does he like me? Why was he looking at me like that?
