Friendly Desires: A Different Imprint Story
A beautiful and rich girl moves to La Push, but what happens when Seth Clearwater imprints on her? Love right away? Or not?
Preface
A huge wolf stood in front of me, his fur was sandy colored. I felt a sudden pull towards it.
I wanted to reach out and touch it.
I went closer, close enough that we stood at normal human distance, adrenaline pulsed through me.
I moved my hand through the soft fur and stared into the light brown eyes, suddenly too intelligent for a beast.
I was lost, I felt elated.
Chapter 1: Talk time.
Nicole’s POV:
I sat staring out of the window from my room of our New York apartment, the view was simply beautiful, though it was busy and happening I found some peace looking down on the moving city. The apartment where I stayed was huge, dad was an advertising executive, he had his own company which took up products and advertise them in various ways. This was a rich business and dad of course made millions of money in this way, most of the time they hired actors to do a particular add, I had their autographs. It was a traveling job; dad had to travel all around the world, and it was kinda good for both of us. For him because it was his business and he loved doing it and for me because I got to meet actors and also travel around the world with him during vacation. Speaking of vacation, wonder where we will be going this time, my exams were almost over, I had one more left, tomorrow it will all be over and I will turn into a sophomore from a freshman. I sighed; we also had to stay in school after the exams, as my school was taking up an environment program so the principal wanted to enlighten us on saving our environment. I was very much enthusiastic about it; I badly wanted to save our environment. And later our group would be going to party, the same usual stuff. I sighed again.
“There’s lots of sighing going on huh?” I heard a voice, it was Antony of course.
Antony, well he is my care-taker, actually more than that and almost everything, he has been with me and dad since I was 5. We used to stay in Italy when he joined us. Dad had been to Italy to do a particular project, there he met mom, yeah my mom’s an Italian, and they immediately fell in love and got married. They decided to stay in Italy for a while, and then I was born. Everything had been going well till I was 3 or 4 and then the usual bickering turned into huge fights, they didn’t want me to be subjected to their fights so they hired a ‘nanny’ for me. Not just a usual nanny, dad wanted some one really capable who could take care of me in every way, so he contacted an American agency and they sent Antony to us. I m glad dad didn’t want a usual nannies, Antony is the best! Then things became worse and they, that is my mom and dad had to separate, it was harsh for me, I loved my mom and wanted her to be with me, but no she left us, she didn’t even care for my feelings. Since then Antony is with us. He is always with me; dad usually has to go away for business trips but Antony never. He is my best friend, cook, body guard, and my family. I love him.
“Yeah, it’s the last day of school.” I said looking at him.
“You didn’t study for the exam right?” he teased me.
“Antony, its Art tomorrow, and you know I m pro at that,” I laughed.
“Ah! Be modest!” he teased again.
“By the way, don’t you know you should knock before entering someone’s room?” I teased him back.
“I keep forgetting ma’am,” he said with a sarcastic smile.
“Manner’s are very important mister!” I pretended to scold him.
“Yeah sure, dinner’s ready come-on.” He laughed and went out.
“Okay,” I said and went over to my washroom and washed my face with cold water. I changed into sweatpants and a tank top and went over to the dining table.
I went over and sat on my chair, and Antony joined me.
“Where’s dad?” I asked while serving myself dinner.
“It seems he will be late tonight, Miss Wills left a message.” He replied.
“Oh, okay.” I said. Miss Wills was dad’s secretary. She had been with dad for ten years.
“Yummy noodles,” I commented.
“Thanks, I m good at everything you see.” He said.
“Now look who is not being modest!” I raised my eye brows.
“Okay, okay.” He said and then we continued to have dinner in silence.
After finishing the dinner, I put my plate in the sink.
“Good night Tony,” I said and yawned.
“Yeah night’,” he replied with a smile.
I went over to my room and cuddled up in my bed, I checked my cell. I hadn’t got any messages or calls so I set an alarm and closed my eyes thinking about next day. Soon, I fell asleep.
Seth’s POV:
My shift had just ended.
‘Night guys,’ I thought and phased back to human form. I wore my clothes in swift moment and headed to my house, I was damn tired. Nothing was going on in La Push or the Cullens’ territory; it had been a year since the fight against the Volturi had taken place for Nessie. To keep the college charade the Cullens had left for New Hampshire after one month, and Jacob had left with them. Though he joined us in wolf form it was never the same, he had made Leah his beta. And now they were returning at last! Their college year had ended, to meet Charlie and us.
I entered my house, it was dark. Probably mom and Leah were already in bed. I grabbed my self a snack and headed to my room. I went and lay on my bed. I didn’t feel sleepy any more! Come-on, I should! I m damn tired, I need to sleep. I just kept tossing and turning, I got irritated and got of the bed, climbed through the window and sat on the roof staring at the moon. I felt very lonely, everyone had an imprint and they were damn happy, everyone but Leah and I. A year had passed and I had seen many new girls in school but I never imprinted on them, Leah had gotten past her self, being a beta and away from Sam and his mind had made her better. Better not back to her old self. I had started to question myself, were Leah and I genetic end? Was that the reason we hadn’t imprinted? Ugh! The guys had also asked me to start dating some one and there were many girls who wanted me, being a wolf had made me handsome and wanted. But I didn’t want anyone except ‘her’. Then I sat staring at the moon blankly, not wanting to allow negative thought rule over me. Minutes passed…
I yawned once and then twice and then thrice.
“Time to go to bed Seth,” I said to myself and headed back inside.
As soon my head hit the bed, my eyes closed and I was drawn into deep sleep. That night, I dreamed of ‘her’. I had never seen her before. She was more than beautiful, her eyes were dark brown, her brown hair was long and shiny and her lips were shaped into a smile. She came over to me and moved her hand across my face, my breathing increased. Her soft lips touched my cheek, I moved my hand to hold her, but suddenly I was all alone. She had vanished my sight, reach and touch. Everything went blank and the dream changed into nothingness.

Chapter 20: I don’t feel so alone
Nicole’s POV:
The ride back home was quiet, Antony didn’t say anything knowing I wanted to stay this way and I was lost in my thought. Suddenly my relationship with Daniel didn’t seem as easy it was when he had been with me. God! Why did this happen to me?! Why did things have to get serious?!
The ride back seemed much longer…I just watched the rain fall against the windows and traced my fingers with the water drops. I was getting angry now…felt like screaming out loud, throw things, shout at someone,
and yet I wanted to stay quiet. Yeah I m pretty confusing…I myself don’t understand the real me.The car came to a stop. I looked around; we had reached home…right now I didn’t want anything more than being in New York. I got down and walked to the door, I heard Antony sigh and follow me…he just knew me so well.
I opened the door and started walking up the stairs to my room when Antony said, “Nicole, want me to come with you?” he asked.
“No…” I muttered without looking at him.
“Okay, maybe later,” he nodded.
I simply walked up to my room, and bang the door and then my sadness and anger burst out, I threw a few things on the floor probably even broke them and then I lay on the bed, and started crying after putting on high music.
I don’t know how long I cried, but the next thing I was aware of was Antony picking me and tucking me to bed in a better way and placing my quilt over me. I heard him switch the music off.
“Tony?” I croaked letting my eyes adjust to the almost darkness in my room. It was night now…
“Yes Nikki,” he sat across the bed.
I got up and hugged him…a few tears rolled down my eyes, I myself didn’t know why I was crying so much.
“Shush, its gonna be fine, I know,” he patted my back and hugged me closer.
“I hate this,” I told him.
“I know…” he whispered.
I felt much better now…Antony always knew what to say.
“Maybe you should eat now,” he suggested.
“I don’t want to,” I said reluctantly. I was feeling pretty hungry but I didn’t want to.
“I m getting your dinner up here, you better wash up,” he said and walked out of the room. I smiled to myself; this action seemed weird after my crying for such a long time.
I went to the washroom and was surprised to look at my face in the mirror, my eyes were puffed, and I looked pale…I washed my face with cold water and walked out.
Antony had already gotten a tray of food; I sat on the bed, and reached out for the hot soup. It felt good against my throat.
“Thanks,” I muttered huskily.
He chuckled.
“I m sorry about that, I don’t know what went wrong,” I shrugged.
He looked at me sadly, “it’s fine,” he smiled then.
“Seth had come to see you,” he said.
“Oh, what did you tell him?” I asked.
“Said you were sleeping, and then he left,” he said.
“I will have to call him up later,” I said out load. I was feeling bad that I hadn’t been able to see Seth then…and I was missing him too.
After the dinner, I went to bed. I lay on the bed looking at nothing…it had gotten pretty dark after I switched off all the lights. I lay there thinking for a while…I felt somewhat empty…maybe it was because my boyfriend and I wouldn’t be seeing each other every day, but I felt like that wasn’t it. There was some other reason.
I lay there trying to figure out some other reason…Seth….and then I fell asleep.
(Next day)
I opened my eyes, my body ached; I was feeling extremely stiff…I sat up and yawned. After the night’s sleep I felt much better and lonely.
“Decided to get up finally,” I heard Antony’s voice. He was seated on the arm chair with a book in his right hand.
“What’s are you doing here?” I yawned again.
“What I always do Nikki,” he got up and sat opposite to me on the bed.
“You’re the best,” I smiled remembering all the times I had been upset or angry…Antony would always wait for me to wake up whenever I went off to sleep.
“Feeling better?” he asked.
“Yeah, I m,” I smiled. And what I told him was truth…I don’t know what had gone wrong with me yesterday but today I was perfectly fine…well almost.
“Okay, I will get you some tea,” he smiled and walked out.
I moved back and leaned against the bed frame…my mind wandered to the time I had been a kid. I was a happy child, I rarely was upset over anything because I had everything I wanted and would get everything I asked for. But after mom left…things changed…I changed. I had cried that night for my mom and it was Antony who had held me, consoled me and I had fallen asleep on his shoulder. And from then on it has always been Antony who made me feel alright.
“Here it is,” he entered my room and handed me the cup. I took a sip and looked around, the room looked very clean…knowing Antony he had arranged everything.
“You know what,” he started
“What?” I smiled.
“You look horrible,” he chuckled.
“I know!” I sighed…I felt horrible too.
“Maybe you should take a special bath?” he suggested.
“Omg…I would love to Tony, you’re the bestest!” I laughed. I really need a long special bath would really make me better.
“I know, I know, drink up the tea, and I would get the bath ready,” he said and rushed in the bathroom.
“I have let the water fill the tub…it should take some five minutes,” he said coming out. I sipped the last of the tea and got off the bed. At once feeling dizzy I steadied myself.
“What’s the time?” I asked heading to my closet.
“11:54 am,” Antony stated.
“Wow…I have slept for long,” I giggled.
“Yeah,” he smiled probably grateful that I was being normal.
I went through my clothes looking for an outfit. With suggestions from Antony I decided to wear knee-length jeans and a fitting top with a matching comfy
jacket. And on that red converse.“By the way, Seth had called,” he said.
“What? When?” I didn’t know why I sounded so excited.
“Just an hour back, I didn’t pick up your cell on the first call but he called again and I didn’t want you to wake up,” he answered.
“Ohkay! Maybe I will call him later and we may hang out,” I muttered feeling right.
“Yeah, you can do that,” he said.
“Yeah…okay I m going for the bath.” I said, Antony left the room saying he had lunch to make and I walked in the bathroom.
I smiled to myself as I looked around, Antony had set the room as low lights and as I locked the door behind me I felt the steamy air and the flowery scent hit me. I inhaled enjoying. I checked the water, and it was exactly the temperature I wanted. The foam covered every part of water; I stripped off, and turned on my favorite music and lay comfortably in the ready bath.
I felt extremely rested and calm; I dressed up and left my hair down after drying it in a wavy manner. Feeling very cheerful I headed down to feed my hungry stomach.
“Antony!” I sang.
“Yeah…it’s your favorite,” he chuckled.
“Daddy!” I hugged my dad, he laughed.
“After staying sixteen years with you, I feel proud to say that I still don’t know my daughter’s completely!” Dad laughed.
“Yeah right,” I laughed.
Antony had made chicken and chips and some sauce. “Yum…” I mumbled and stuffed my mouth with food.
“Any plans for today?” Dad asked.
“Hmm…I guess I will hang out with Seth for a while?” I asked.
“Sure honey,” Dad smiled.
“Okie-dokie,” I smiled.
After lunch I went and called Seth, he picked it up, “hello?” he sounded miserable.
“Seth! Hi!” I smiled widely.
“Nicole!” his voice told me that I had changed his mood.
“D-uh,” I rolled my eyes.
“I didn’t recognize the number,” he said.
“It’s my residence one,” I said.
“Ok, what are you up to?” he asked.
“I was wondering if we could hang out, if you’re free of course,” I waited for his answer.
“Yeah, sure!” he replied.
“Okay, where shall we meet?” I asked.
“Hmm, do you want to hang out at the beach?” he asked.
“Er-no,” I said.
“Okay…I will pick you up and then we will just come up with something?” he asked.
“Sounds fine to me,” I agreed.
“Okay, I will be see you in few.” He said.
“Sure, see you,” I hung up.
“What did you plan?” Antony asked.
“Hmm…I don’t know, he will pick me up and then we will decide something,” I told him.
“Okay, be back soon,” Antony said.
“Alright,” I sighed.
I sat waiting for Seth and going through a magazine.
Seth’s POV:
The moment Nicole had called my mood had lifted up at once! Instead of the frown that had decided to settle on my face permanently I now had a bright smile. For the past couple of days I had been extremely miserable!
And not seeing her or talking to her had just increased my lonely and unwanted feeling.“Where’s the fire?” Leah asked as I took the truck keys to head out.
“I m off to see Nicole, she called me,” I smiled widely.
“Ok, calm down and please change your dressing,” she rolled her eyes.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Look at you! It looks like you have been sleeping for days and just woken up,” she said.
“Okay-okay!” I said and rushed in inhuman speed to my room.
I really looked like how Lee had described, I took a quick shower and put on my clean khaki shorts and a t-shirt and headed down again.
This time Leah just gave a nod of approval and I ran out and drove the truck faster than ever to get to my imprint’s place.
When I reached her place she greeted with a bright smile! And Antony and her dad with half-ok smiles; Nicole and I came out.
“So where do you want to go?” I asked starting the truck.
“You should know that,” she teased. And man, she looked beautiful!
“You know what? I actually have a good place in mind,” I smiled.
“Really? Where?” she asked getting excited. I couldn’t help but smile at her exuberance; she seemed happy and very animated today.
“It’s a surprise,” I smiled.
“I m curious now,” she said.
It wasn’t a very long drive but as soon as I stopped the truck Nicole got down with a huge smile plastered on her face. I watched her take in the beauty, and it truly made her look even more beautiful.
“The sun’s out,” she beamed.
“Yeah, it’s pretty warm.
“You know, Daniel had got me to cliffs, but yet this is way too different,” she told me.
I was out of an answer…I did know that her “boyfriend” had also taken her to some cliffs and then also kissed her a lot later.
“Oh, yeah,” I bit my lip.
“I like these a lot but,” she said indifferently.
“Good,” I put on a small smile.
She seemed to notice the change and pulled me toward the edge. She didn’t flinch away from the usual extra warmth of my body through my full sleeves t-shirt.
“Com-on, lets sit here,” she said.
Feeling very panicky of her safety we sat on the rocks with our feet hanging down.
“You know, I m sacred of heights,” she shuddered. I wanted to pull her in a hug and comfort her, but I kept my hands to myself.
“I was too,” I told her.
“Was?” she asked.
“Yeah, I used to be scared, but now I m totally over it!” I told her partial truth. Of course I had been scared of many things before I turned into a wolf but after that…I was pretty much a dare-devil.
“I wonder how it feels to jump down from here,” she sighed, and I could hear the longing.
“I thought you were scared of heights,” I teased her.
“I m…but I wanna try it! Big deal, I know swimming way too well,” she pretended to be offended.
“Ok-ok,” I laughed.
“I wish we could, I mean, I would have done it but the rocks down are surely gonna hurt,” she sighed.
“My friends and I jump from here all the time! There are pretty non-hurting rocks there,” I told her.
“Really?!” her eyes wild with joy.
“Yeah, that’s how I know this place,” I shrugged.
“Seth…?” she turned to me.
“Yeah?” I asked hesitatingly feeling a bit scared of what she was going to tell or ask.
“I wanna jump!”
A/N: Hello everyone! Finally a new chapter is here!! So very sorry for making you people wait but there are a lot of things that have kept me busy…!!! Anyways, I hope you like this chappy! Sorry for the abrupt ending but I could feel the writer’s mood slip away so I had to stop! I will post more sooner than this long wait and *hint hint* it has some cute Seth-Nicole moments. !!
