Friendly Desires: A Different Imprint Story

A beautiful and rich girl moves to La Push, but what happens when Seth Clearwater imprints on her? Love right away? Or not?

Preface

A huge wolf stood in front of me, his fur was sandy colored. I felt a sudden pull towards it.

I wanted to reach out and touch it.

I went closer, close enough that we stood at normal human distance, adrenaline pulsed through me.

I moved my hand through the soft fur and stared into the light brown eyes, suddenly too intelligent for a beast.

I was lost, I felt elated.

Chapter 1: Talk time.

Nicole’s POV:

I sat staring out of the window from my room of our New York apartment, the view was simply beautiful, though it was busy and happening I found some peace looking down on the moving city. The apartment where I stayed was huge, dad was an advertising executive, he had his own company which took up products and advertise them in various ways. This was a rich business and dad of course made millions of money in this way, most of the time they hired actors to do a particular add, I had their autographs. It was a traveling job; dad had to travel all around the world, and it was kinda good for both of us. For him because it was his business and he loved doing it and for me because I got to meet actors and also travel around the world with him during vacation. Speaking of vacation, wonder where we will be going this time, my exams were almost over, I had one more left, tomorrow it will all be over and I will turn into a sophomore from a freshman. I sighed; we also had to stay in school after the exams, as my school was taking up an environment program so the principal wanted to enlighten us on saving our environment. I was very much enthusiastic about it; I badly wanted to save our environment. And later our group would be going to party, the same usual stuff. I sighed again.

“There’s lots of sighing going on huh?” I heard a voice, it was Antony of course.

Antony, well he is my care-taker, actually more than that and almost everything, he has been with me and dad since I was 5. We used to stay in Italy when he joined us. Dad had been to Italy to do a particular project, there he met mom, yeah my mom’s an Italian, and they immediately fell in love and got married. They decided to stay in Italy for a while, and then I was born. Everything had been going well till I was 3 or 4 and then the usual bickering turned into huge fights, they didn’t want me to be subjected to their fights so they hired a ‘nanny’ for me. Not just a usual nanny, dad wanted some one really capable who could take care of me in every way, so he contacted an American agency and they sent Antony to us. I m glad dad didn’t want a usual nannies, Antony is the best! Then things became worse and they, that is my mom and dad had to separate, it was harsh for me, I loved my mom and wanted her to be with me, but no she left us, she didn’t even care for my feelings. Since then Antony is with us. He is always with me; dad usually has to go away for business trips but Antony never. He is my best friend, cook, body guard, and my family. I love him.

“Yeah, it’s the last day of school.” I said looking at him.

“You didn’t study for the exam right?” he teased me.

“Antony, its Art tomorrow, and you know I m pro at that,” I laughed.

“Ah! Be modest!” he teased again.

“By the way, don’t you know you should knock before entering someone’s room?” I teased him back.

“I keep forgetting ma’am,” he said with a sarcastic smile.

“Manner’s are very important mister!” I pretended to scold him.

“Yeah sure, dinner’s ready come-on.” He laughed and went out.

“Okay,” I said and went over to my washroom and washed my face with cold water. I changed into sweatpants and a tank top and went over to the dining table.

I went over and sat on my chair, and Antony joined me.

“Where’s dad?” I asked while serving myself dinner.

“It seems he will be late tonight, Miss Wills left a message.” He replied.

“Oh, okay.” I said. Miss Wills was dad’s secretary. She had been with dad for ten years.

“Yummy noodles,” I commented.

“Thanks, I m good at everything you see.” He said.

“Now look who is not being modest!” I raised my eye brows.

“Okay, okay.” He said and then we continued to have dinner in silence.

After finishing the dinner, I put my plate in the sink.

“Good night Tony,” I said and yawned.

“Yeah night’,” he replied with a smile.

I went over to my room and cuddled up in my bed, I checked my cell. I hadn’t got any messages or calls so I set an alarm and closed my eyes thinking about next day. Soon, I fell asleep.

Seth’s POV:

My shift had just ended.

‘Night guys,’ I thought and phased back to human form. I wore my clothes in swift moment and headed to my house, I was damn tired. Nothing was going on in La Push or the Cullens’ territory; it had been a year since the fight against the Volturi had taken place for Nessie. To keep the college charade the Cullens had left for New Hampshire after one month, and Jacob had left with them. Though he joined us in wolf form it was never the same, he had made Leah his beta. And now they were returning at last! Their college year had ended, to meet Charlie and us.

I entered my house, it was dark. Probably mom and Leah were already in bed. I grabbed my self a snack and headed to my room. I went and lay on my bed. I didn’t feel sleepy any more! Come-on, I should! I m damn tired, I need to sleep. I just kept tossing and turning, I got irritated and got of the bed, climbed through the window and sat on the roof staring at the moon. I felt very lonely, everyone had an imprint and they were damn happy, everyone but Leah and I. A year had passed and I had seen many new girls in school but I never imprinted on them, Leah had gotten past her self, being a beta and away from Sam and his mind had made her better. Better not back to her old self. I had started to question myself, were Leah and I genetic end? Was that the reason we hadn’t imprinted? Ugh! The guys had also asked me to start dating some one and there were many girls who wanted me, being a wolf had made me handsome and wanted. But I didn’t want anyone except ‘her’. Then I sat staring at the moon blankly, not wanting to allow negative thought rule over me. Minutes passed…

I yawned once and then twice and then thrice.

“Time to go to bed Seth,” I said to myself and headed back inside.

As soon my head hit the bed, my eyes closed and I was drawn into deep sleep. That night, I dreamed of ‘her’. I had never seen her before. She was more than beautiful, her eyes were dark brown, her brown hair was long and shiny and her lips were shaped into a smile. She came over to me and moved her hand across my face, my breathing increased. Her soft lips touched my cheek, I moved my hand to hold her, but suddenly I was all alone. She had vanished my sight, reach and touch. Everything went blank and the dream changed into nothingness.

Chapter 24: Gravity moves

When you see your imprint, when all the strings break new strings are formed. They are linked to only one person. They are stronger. They make you love your imprint. And you are ready to do anything for that person…even die.

Seth’s POV:

Whoa! Who would have thought that Leah, Leah the vampire hater would imprint on a Vampire! Wow. Everyone in the pack was taken by surprise! I, Jacob, Embry, and Quil…even Leah.

She just stared at him…went through the same thing that all of us did when the Earth released us…when the Imprint took control. Only, hers was different…it was very different. Maybe because she was the female wolf and he was a Vampire.

Everyone was frozen. I didn’t know why Sam was staying quiet. He wouldn’t have known about Leah imprinting on him…would he? Maybe this Vampire…Adam had a special power. As soon as I voiced it I knew I was right. Everyone in the pack was thinking same except Leah. That effect was weirdly calm and stopped us from doing anything.

Leah moved forward, his eyes shifted to her. He just stared at her. The firm expression that he had vanishing. All he had now was just surprise.

As soon as his eyes locked with Leah’s the charm seemed to break. There was howling in air. Sam’s pack was howling and growling. And they started circling him. But Adam and Leah barely noticed.

‘Jake, tell Sam!’ I said desperately.

‘Yeah!’ Jacob said realizing.

But we were too late. At that moment Sam moved with murder in his eyes. Before anyone could stop him, before Jake could tell him. He lunged toward Adam. And then something incredible happened. Leah jumped between them.

Sam’s teeth caught Leah’s near the neck and put a pressure on her rib cage; unable to shake him off Leah howled in pain. Adam pushed Sam off her with one swift moment. He fell back and got on his feet looking shocked and guilty.

We were frozen again…this time because we didn’t know how to react. I watched my sister writhe in pain, howling. Adam was kneeling down by her side, trying to calm her. He wasn’t protecting his back, anyone could have attacked him but no one did. This was the first time one of us had been hurt where we had the advantage. But this was also the first time when a pack member had attacked another member.

Unable to see Leah in pain…unable to feel her pain, I shifted to human form and put on my clothes and ran toward them.

“Leah honey,” I moved my hand through her fur, there was a huge cut around her neck, and the ground and Adams clothes were covered with it.

“She’s going to be fine,” Adam stated determinedly. His voice trembled a bit but the firmness in his voice told me that he was going to do everything to save her.

Leah moaned a bit and fell silent, feeling desperate that something had happened to her both of us stared at her. Her body heaved up and down and her breathing was labored…nothing had happened, Leah had just fainted. But something would if we didn’t do anything; I hated Sam at this moment! First his pack had tried to hurt my imprint and now my sister’s!

“We need to take her to the Cullens!” Jacob said coming up behind me.

“Yeah,” I agreed feeling glad. All this had made me forget about the Cullens, Carlisle would know how to take care of her.

“Cullens?” there was something different in his voice…fear? Nervousness? Or maybe some kind of recognition?

“Yeah, you’re kind,” Jacob shrugged with sudden hostility. Maybe he too noticed the change in his Adam’s tone.

“And…and they will take care of her?” he asked.

“Look, we know better,” Jacob said in his alpha tone.

“Leah needs to phase back,” I said putting an end to their talk. Something was up with Adam but with Leah injured I wasn’t going to stand here and argue.

“She is unconscious, we need to carry her,” Jake said with kindness replacing the hostility in his tone and eyes.

He held his hands forward for Leah. Leah being the only female in the pack wasn’t as hugely built as us, she was petite. It would be easy to carry her.

But Adam didn’t hand her to him; he just held her in a much more promising manner and stood up with grace.

“Lead the way,” he challenged.

Jacob stared at him and then Leah, and then ran deeper in the woods in sprinted into his wolf form. Adam followed him with the same swiftness and then the rest of our pack. I prayed…desperately prayed that Leah would be fine. But there was some new worry in my heart. I had to know that she was going to be fine and then meet Nicole. Oh god…Nicole. For some reason my heart was torn into two, I so badly wanted to be with Leah but I so badly wanted to see Nicole.

I will see her…but not now. Later I would.

I was about to shift into wolf form but I felt a gentle push…I turned to see Sam, I had totally forgotten about him, his eyes were filled with guilt, he put his head down as if apologizing.

“You have hurt her enough,” I whispered realizing the truth in my voice.

He nuzzled my shoulder… “Go home Sam…go home,” that was all I could manage.

We were at the Cullens, Leah still wasn’t up. Somehow we had found a way to phase her back to human. Jasper had used his calming power on her and made her feel calm. And Jacob had reached out to her mind and phased back into human, but she still lay in her wolf form. Carlisle was getting worried as she had lost a lot of blood already. After a couple of tries Jacob finally phased into human form with her also changing. It had been a tiring thing even for the Alpha. He had sat up panting and taking deep breaths. This was the first time something like this had been done.

Right now we waited outside as Carlisle worked on her and Edward helped, it was very tense outside. All of us waited eagerly.

Adam stood in the farthest end of the room near the ready, looking as if he would run from her at the first chance…but I knew he couldn’t, Leah was here…his imprinter was here.

I went up to him, “you okay?” I asked.

None of the Cullens had spoken to him yet. Both Emmett and Jasper watched him wryly but didn’t speak anything…maybe they were waiting for Carlisle and Edward.

“You are her brother?” he questioned.

“Yeah, Seth Clearwater,” I put my hand forward.

“Adam Harold,” he shook my hand, I noticed that his tense posture loosened at bit.

“She knew you…before you came,” I said in a small voice.

“I don’t know…” his voice trailed.

Before I could say anything Carlisle came out followed by Edward.

“How’s she?!” everyone asked at the same time.

“She will be fine, her neck is hurt but she is healing fast and her rib cage is already mended,” he smiled.

“Is she awake?” Adam asked.

Carlisle studied him, and then said, “she’s is asleep now…I have given her few sleeping dozes,” he told.

“Oh,” he said looking extremely relieved.

And then all of our attention turned to him. Everyone was staring at him.

“Who are you?” Edward asked looking frustrated slightly.

“Adam Harold,” he said.

“Where are you from Adam? What are you doing here? Do you belong to any coven?” Carlisle asked with guarded kindness.

“I was from America, but then I was changed and taken to Serbia, and no, I don’t belong to any coven now,” he said with the same guardedness.

“I don’t understand you; you did belong to a coven right? And then you just left?” Carlisle continued his interrogation.

“I did belong to one, but I was unhappy…a lot. I wanted to come back home, I didn’t want to be a part of their exploits, and here I wanted to see Leah…I just had to…” he was hardly audible in the end. If we hadn’t been supernatural it would have been impossible to hear him.

“Do you feed on animals now?” Jasper asked obviously noticing his eye color.

“Yeah, started just a while before,” he smiled for the first time.

“Adam are you some type of a shield?” Edward asked suddenly.

“Not exactly,” he shook his head. “But I can control the effect of the power used on me.”

We all looked confused. Sighing he continued, “I won’t be able to control your power completely but when you use it on me, it’s my wish on how much to can read me…”

“How did you know I was a reader?” Edward asked raising his eye brows.

“It is always healthy to know about the other vampires, and after the Volturi your family is the most talented and tales spread across regions,” he shrugged as if it was obvious. And then his eyes settled on Renesmee for a while. I felt sure that he had heard about our almost fight with the Volturi.

“After? I think they beat the Volturi,” Jacob smirked and held his hands out for Renesmee obviously not liking Adam’s gaze on her.

Few of us chuckled. “The Volturi is strong,” he simply stated. I noticed the respect he held for them.

“And we agree with you on that, Jacob is just very…” Carlisle smiled warmly and walked forward and held out his hand to Adam.

“I m Carlisle, and I m sure we will get to know each other well in the coming time,” he smiled.

“Pleasure meeting you and your family,” he smiled back with the same warmth.

“I guess you want to spend time with Leah,” Carlisle asked. “I will introduce the rest of us later.”

”Alright,” Adam agreed.

“Er, I wanna see her too, just for few minutes…and then I gotta go meet Nicole,” I put in.

“I will lead you both in…or you want to see her alone?” Carlisle asked.

“No its fine…she is sleeping anyway right,” I shrugged.

Carlisle led us in.

Leah lay on a white bed looking fragile, this room was similar to ones in the hospitals, and I was surprised that they had an additional room like this at home. It was sort of crazy.

“I love her…” Adam whispered after Carlisle shut the door.

“I figured,” I agreed.

I knew it was hard for him… “You think she will love me?” he asked sounding hesitant staring at me.

“Of course…she has, even before she saw you…even before she imprinted on you,” I smiled.

“Imprinted?” he raised his eye brows.

“She will explain it to you,” I said and moved my hand through Leah’s hair. She looked so much younger…almost like a child. I felt sorry for all the things she had to go through. But now she wouldn’t be in pain any more. She had imprinted on her true love…I knew one thing for sure…he would love her forever.

“You are going to be fine and happy,” I kissed her forehead and whispered in her ear.

“Er, I gotta go, I will see you later,” I nodded.

“Sure Seth,” he smiled.

I turned back, Adam had taken hold of Leah’s hand and he just stared at her.

I walked out feeling partly relived. Now I just had to see my imprint…my Nicole.

Everything had returned to normal here, Jacob was eating with Renesmee next to him and Emmett and Jasper were playing some game. Alice and Edward were playing Chess and rest were watching TV.

“Where you going Sethy?” Emmett said in the teasing voice.

“To meet Nicole Emmett,” I said rolling my eyes and knew that something humiliating was coming ahead.

“Kissed her yet?” he asked chuckling.

“You know I haven’t,” I said through gritted teeth.

“Ooh! Com-on Seth, hold her down once and give her a wild passionate kiss, she is going to be head over heels in love with you, show the animal in you,” he laughed.

“Shut up Emmett!” I knew I was blushing! God! How many times had I imagined holding Nicole…kissing her soft lips…feeling her close to me. I almost would have moaned if Edward hadn’t coughed out loud reminding me that he was listening.

“Thinking already? Just do it!” Emmett continued.

“Give him a break Em…” Jasper poked him.

Emmett started making kissing noises and rolled on the floor in laughter. Ignoring him I went out in the night. Time had passed sooner than I had expected. It was probably after noon but it was darker already and it was slightly drizzling.

I made a quick stop at my place to wear proper clothes…with a nice t-shirt and jeans packed I shifted into wolf form again and ran as fast as possible. I yearned for her. I hoped she would be happy to see me too…

I stopped quarter of a mile away from her house and out on my clothes. And then got out of the woods and started walking, my sharp eyes noticed lots of light ahead. There were a couple of cars and the whole house was lit up. I jogged ahead to reach sooner and froze when I noticed that the cars were police cars.

My heart started thudding. Oh god! What had happened? and then the though that every wolf feared when it came to his imprint passed through my mind. Nicole isn’t safe.

I shivered.

Hey guys!! My exams got over..!! And yeah, here’s the latest chapter! So how is it?!

What do you guys think of Adam? Hmm….my mind is forming so many ideas already. I m thinking of some Seth~Nicole “loving” time. What say? =P
