The Twilight Saga

This is about Amelie, a half vampire half human girl who is different in a lot of ways to Renesmee. She was created, like a vampire, however the venom didn't have time to spread completely, leaving her part human. She is subject to uncontrolable rages in which she kills hundreds of people with out meaning to. It is set around the time of Eclipse.

Ghost

Chapter 1

I heard my Dad pause outside my door, I thought he was going to come in, but then I heard a meow. Oh, my cat must be outside.

“I need another bookcase.” I said to him.

His response came quickly, “No you don’t I’m sure there’s enough room on your current one.”

He came into my room, his eyes twinkling, he too, turned to look at my colossal bookshelf, which covered the whole of the wall.

“Look, Dad!” I point to the books neatly stacked at the bottom because they couldn’t fit, “They have no room at all!”

Dad smiled at me, “I’m sure you could create a bookshelf on your floor like that.”

I mock-glared at him, and whined, “Daaaad, you know I can’t. You have a day off tomorrow, can’t you build me one then?”

“I will put it on my to-do list.”

I moaned, my Dad’s to-do was about a mile long, and went from jobs that dated years back (painting the bathroom) to very recent jobs (extending the garage). If my bookshelf was put on his to-do list, it would never get done.

“There’s room there!” I pointed to the only spare wall above my bed, “You can build me one like my old room had. You know, the simple wood nailed to the wall, or whatever.”

“No, they had a terrible design. I will think long and hard about it.”

I could tell he was joking, but I followed him out of my room and down the hallway, “Think about it now and then do it tomorrow. It’s supposed to be raining so you can’t do any brick laying. You have all day to build me a bookshelf!”

I had stopped walking, Dad paused at the top of the stairs, “I will put it on my to-do list.”

I groaned and pretended to sulk. I could hear my Dad laughing, I joined in with him.

I knew it was going to get done, either tomorrow or over the weekend. There were two reasons I was positive of this: First, I was an only child and my Dad loved to see me smile, so he did a lot of stuff for me, and second, I was a wildly volatile half vampire half human girl, who with no warning, could massacre a whole village if I got angry. I got most things done for me.

I suppose I felt a bit guilty about being able to have pretty much anything done for me because people were terrified I would eat them, but they were right to worry. Of course, when I got angry, I didn’t mean to kill people, it just happened. And I regretted it deeply later. I always tried to console the families, however they ran away screaming every time they saw me. Sometimes this made me angry and I would kill the rest of them, so I gave up trying to help.

I had never killed someone close to me though. But seeing as I didn’t have any friends, I was an only child and my Mum had been murdered four years ago, my Dad was the only one close to me.

There was one major advantage of being me though. I was born with a very advanced mind. Which meant I had gone to school for a year, but at the end of that year, I knew everything my Dad knew so there was no need to continue my schooling. The Government accepted this and after that they stayed well away from my Dad and I.

Actually, I thought, staring and my bookcase, if someone wanted to hurt me, my books would be a very good place to start.

I loved my books, they were my only companions really. I loved my Dad to pieces, but he was still a Dad. My books consoled me, because they showed me fragments of lives that were so much worse than mine. Even if all of them were fictional.

I was completely sure what the name of my species was, I supposed that technically zombie was the most accurate, because I was dead but then I was saved by the kiss of a vampire.

I absentmindedly rubbed the crescent-shaped scar on my neck. I had never met that vampire who brought me back to life. I’m not that bothered either. Dad said she was nice, with short, black hair, he said she looked more like a pixie than a vampire.

Waking up from being dead, now there was an unpleasant experience. Imagine pins and needles. Now imagine that times a thousand. You now sort of understand how uncomfortable being brought back was.

I slumped onto my bed, murmuring apologies to my cat, Hazel, and turned my iPod on to some random noise. I never really got into music. It was always just background noise, quiet unnerved me. I opened my current book, an enjoyable book about demons. It was relaxing change from the endless romance that made up most of my books. I don’t think the main character in this book was even capable of love. He seemed cold.

I’d already had dinner, so there were no more disturbances that evening. It took me a couple of hours to finish my book, but I stayed up late thinking about stuff. I did it a lot. I talk to myself in my mind. Well, I speed talk. So it was about one in the morning when I finally turned my light off.

Chapter 12 – Alec’s Point of View

My head was resting on my knee as I surveyed the damage Emmett had done. I couldn’t believe he did it without even flexing a muscle. My last knight was protectively guarding the King that stood in the far corner of the board. My Queen was zipping around trying to eliminate any threats. It didn’t seem to have worked though.

I sighed, and admitted that I was stuffed. “Checkmate.”

Emmett – who had been in the process of clipping his nails in a show of how slow I was – looked up in fake surprise. “Oh really? Wow. I didn’t notice.”

“Do it, Emmett.” I snapped at him as he slowly put down the clippers and leisurely took my King and started examining it.

“For heavens sake! Stop fooling around or I’m calling Shauna to wrestle you again.” Emmett had lost to the famed fighting vampire – something that he would never, ever get over.

His hand flexed and a stream of black dust fell onto the board. The remains of my King. I stared at it hard, as if willing it into life but nothing happened.

I heard Jasper mutter, “Damn it, that was our last black King.”

“Good game.” Emmett said as he clapped me on the back. Hard.

I stared up at him. “I lost, though.”

“Exactly. Good game.” Emmett walked off whistling and I picked up his King, closely examining the scratch down one side of it, before flicking it at his head. There was a small crack as it bounced off his head and into the wall.

Edward sighed loudly and murmured to Jasper, “And that was our last white King.”

I checked the time. It had been two hours since I had left Richelle. Surely they would have come back – or at least told us where they were by now. I didn’t let myself get too worried, but it didn’t help that Irina was staring from the clock to the door as if this was going to help her get back quicker and that Renesmee and Hannah – accompanied by Rosalie and Jake – had gone off to search for them. Seth wasn’t in his wolf form, Jacob had already checked.

“It’ll be fine.” Jasper told me and it took a moment to realise that he was able to feel the mountain of anxiety that was welling up inside me.

I rolled my eyes but didn’t answer, instead I worked on calming myself. Shauna’s hands of my shoulders seemed to be working perfectly, slowly soothing all the bad feelings inside me.

The door opened and I glanced lazily and the returned search party. As soon as I took in their expressions, I leapt to my feet.

“What is it? Where’s Ellie? Is she alright?” The same questions that were jumping from my mouth were also springing from Irina’s.

Hannah was looking really upset, she was being hugged tightly by Rosalie who was only looking worried about Hannah. Jake was in his wolf form, staring passed us all, to Leah who was gazing back at him – her eyes widened in something that could only be horror. Renesmee was gently scratching Jacob’s head like you do with a dog, she was looking really worried.

“We can’t find Ellie,” Renesmee said unhappily. “We traced their scent, but it got to this clearing thing and just disappeared. And Seth wasn’t there either. There are any other trails leading away from there, they just disappear.”

A moment of silence, and then the bomb exploded – a million different questions exploding from a million different mouths. Irina was making sure that she was being heard.

“What do you mean disappeared?! Did somebody take her? There must be some way to track them! It cannot be impossible!” she screeched to the party.

Leah growled and then bolted out of the door, probably to check that they were talking to the truth.

“Hey! Hey!” Carlisle yelled above us all, his hands held up in an attempt to keep us quiet. “Calm down a little everyone!” Thanks to Jasper, a wave of peacefulness spread through the room.

“Thanks Jasper,” Carlisle said and Jasper nodded. “Okay, now let’s think about this in a way that will help. Seth and Richelle have disappeared and we all know the most likely thing is that they were taken for some reason, who would have the motivations to do that?”

It was a stupid question – everyone knew the answer but no one had the guts to say it. Irina’s head fell into her hands and Tanya rubbed her back comfortingly.

“The Romanians.” I finally sighed like I was giving a really obvious answer in school. “But why?”

“And how?” Alice asked, in shock. “I mean, they would have to take Seth because otherwise I would be able to see Ellie, but how did they manage to order it without me seeing? Bah! I hate that coven, they seem to be able to find every way in the world to mess with me. I’m going to kill whoever thought this particular one up.”

Carlisle looked at Alice for a minute, blinked, and then turned to the rest of us. “So what are we going to do? We don’t actually know that they’ve got her after all. And they don’t have any motives.”

“Hello?” Tanya said. “Were any of you there last…” there was an awkward silence and a few gazes flickered to me. “Well, anyway, I doubt that they would be that pleased with us for killing one of them.”

“But… that was so long ago. Anca even came to the wedding…” Ria murmured.

“Yeah but did you ever meet the others? Crazy people.” That was Emmett, who seemed to be enjoying the opportunity to insult them.

“What does this matter?” Irina snapped. “I don’t care if she’s in the middle of their castle guarded by everything single vampire in world plus a few dragons! We. Are. Going. To. Get. Her.”

There was a pause as the wolves of growled their approval and the vampires exchanged wary glances.

Then Emmett muttered to Jasper, “Now dragons would be awesome.”
