The Twilight Saga

This is about Amelie, a half vampire half human girl who is different in a lot of ways to Renesmee. She was created, like a vampire, however the venom didn't have time to spread completely, leaving her part human. She is subject to uncontrolable rages in which she kills hundreds of people with out meaning to. It is set around the time of Eclipse.

Ghost

Chapter 1

I heard my Dad pause outside my door, I thought he was going to come in, but then I heard a meow. Oh, my cat must be outside.

“I need another bookcase.” I said to him.

His response came quickly, “No you don’t I’m sure there’s enough room on your current one.”

He came into my room, his eyes twinkling, he too, turned to look at my colossal bookshelf, which covered the whole of the wall.

“Look, Dad!” I point to the books neatly stacked at the bottom because they couldn’t fit, “They have no room at all!”

Dad smiled at me, “I’m sure you could create a bookshelf on your floor like that.”

I mock-glared at him, and whined, “Daaaad, you know I can’t. You have a day off tomorrow, can’t you build me one then?”

“I will put it on my to-do list.”

I moaned, my Dad’s to-do was about a mile long, and went from jobs that dated years back (painting the bathroom) to very recent jobs (extending the garage). If my bookshelf was put on his to-do list, it would never get done.

“There’s room there!” I pointed to the only spare wall above my bed, “You can build me one like my old room had. You know, the simple wood nailed to the wall, or whatever.”

“No, they had a terrible design. I will think long and hard about it.”

I could tell he was joking, but I followed him out of my room and down the hallway, “Think about it now and then do it tomorrow. It’s supposed to be raining so you can’t do any brick laying. You have all day to build me a bookshelf!”

I had stopped walking, Dad paused at the top of the stairs, “I will put it on my to-do list.”

I groaned and pretended to sulk. I could hear my Dad laughing, I joined in with him.

I knew it was going to get done, either tomorrow or over the weekend. There were two reasons I was positive of this: First, I was an only child and my Dad loved to see me smile, so he did a lot of stuff for me, and second, I was a wildly volatile half vampire half human girl, who with no warning, could massacre a whole village if I got angry. I got most things done for me.

I suppose I felt a bit guilty about being able to have pretty much anything done for me because people were terrified I would eat them, but they were right to worry. Of course, when I got angry, I didn’t mean to kill people, it just happened. And I regretted it deeply later. I always tried to console the families, however they ran away screaming every time they saw me. Sometimes this made me angry and I would kill the rest of them, so I gave up trying to help.

I had never killed someone close to me though. But seeing as I didn’t have any friends, I was an only child and my Mum had been murdered four years ago, my Dad was the only one close to me.

There was one major advantage of being me though. I was born with a very advanced mind. Which meant I had gone to school for a year, but at the end of that year, I knew everything my Dad knew so there was no need to continue my schooling. The Government accepted this and after that they stayed well away from my Dad and I.

Actually, I thought, staring and my bookcase, if someone wanted to hurt me, my books would be a very good place to start.

I loved my books, they were my only companions really. I loved my Dad to pieces, but he was still a Dad. My books consoled me, because they showed me fragments of lives that were so much worse than mine. Even if all of them were fictional.

I was completely sure what the name of my species was, I supposed that technically zombie was the most accurate, because I was dead but then I was saved by the kiss of a vampire.

I absentmindedly rubbed the crescent-shaped scar on my neck. I had never met that vampire who brought me back to life. I’m not that bothered either. Dad said she was nice, with short, black hair, he said she looked more like a pixie than a vampire.

Waking up from being dead, now there was an unpleasant experience. Imagine pins and needles. Now imagine that times a thousand. You now sort of understand how uncomfortable being brought back was.

I slumped onto my bed, murmuring apologies to my cat, Hazel, and turned my iPod on to some random noise. I never really got into music. It was always just background noise, quiet unnerved me. I opened my current book, an enjoyable book about demons. It was relaxing change from the endless romance that made up most of my books. I don’t think the main character in this book was even capable of love. He seemed cold.

I’d already had dinner, so there were no more disturbances that evening. It took me a couple of hours to finish my book, but I stayed up late thinking about stuff. I did it a lot. I talk to myself in my mind. Well, I speed talk. So it was about one in the morning when I finally turned my light off.

Chapter 13 – Richelle’s Point of View

I was groggy when I woke up, and way too hot. I opened my eyes slowly to find myself pressed up against Seth, his arms were wrapped around me. I could feel the sweat dripping down my forehead.

“Seth,” I mumbled and pushed against him, trying to get him to roll over. He stayed asleep and I groaned.

“Are you awake now?” I shot up to stare at the girl. I had momentarily forgotten what had happened. I was fairly sure that it had been a dream, but it wasn’t.

My lips mouthed her name, not managing to produce any sound. This was not possible, it just wasn’t! Vampires existed, so did werewolves, but…zombies?

“Do you know who I am?” she asked.

I blinked and tried to get my throat to work. “Yes.” My voice was hoarse, it sounded like I had been crying.

“Who am I?” she pressed, her bright red eyes lighting up with curiosity.

Was she teasing me? Why did she have to ask? “Amelie.”

“Amelie,” she repeated, rolling the name around on her tongue. “It’s a pretty name. Who are you?”

“Richelle. Ellie.” Your daughter.

She frowned and sat down heavily on a chair. “I feel that I should know you – but your name doesn’t help.”

“You…don’t know who I am? You can’t remember me?” I choked out.

Her eyebrows lifted at my voice. “You sound as if I should. But I don’t. I couldn’t even remember my own name until you told me. How do I know you?”

I was your daughter. I am your daughter. You loved me. But I couldn’t make myself say it. She couldn’t remember me. I had spent the best part of two years trying get over her death, trying to come to terms with the fact that it was my fault. I had almost done it, I was so close to accepting that I would never see her again. We had a new life, Daddy and I. He was in love with Shauna and I had Irina as a mother. How do I go back to that life when my Mum’s alive? It would have been slightly better if she could remember who I was, but she didn’t know my name.

“What happened to you?” I managed to ask. She had been saved from death once, but that wasn’t really death. She was dead when we buried her, her heart wasn’t beating.

She shrugged and tossed her blonde hair behind her shoulder. “I woke up in underground, and I dug myself out. I was hungry and so I ate the first thing that walked in front of me.”

My mouth opened in horror. “You killed a human?”

“Is there something wrong with that?” she challenged, her eyes snapping in fury.

I shook my head, backtracking quickly. “No! Definitely not! But why are you a vampire? What happened to you?”

“I don’t know! I can’t remember a thing! All I can remember before opening my eyes is people crying and my hand hurting loads.”

I looked at her hand, and sure enough, there was a crescent scar on her palm. Somebody had bitten in the cave, probably Nick, and now she was a vampire. A savage who drank humans blood, and she didn’t know her own daughters face. In fact, she had kidnapped her own daughter.

“But this doesn’t matter,” she said. “I need your help. I want to know what happened to me, and…there’s something about you that draws me in. You said you know who I am, so who am I?”

I closed my eyes, trying to wake up from this bizarre dream, but when I opened my eyes, she was still staring straight at me. I didn’t know whether I could tell her or not. When I had been growing up, she had always been my Mum, she had always been as mature as any middle aged mother. Now, all I could see was a seventeen year old girl staring and me expectantly. She wasn’t the mother that I would always trust, she seemed more a best friend that I would tell all of my secrets to. This wasn’t my Mum.

“You’re…just a friend.” I told her. “You’re just a friend.”
