The Twilight Saga

This is about Amelie, a half vampire half human girl who is different in a lot of ways to Renesmee. She was created, like a vampire, however the venom didn't have time to spread completely, leaving her part human. She is subject to uncontrolable rages in which she kills hundreds of people with out meaning to. It is set around the time of Eclipse.

Ghost

Chapter 1

I heard my Dad pause outside my door, I thought he was going to come in, but then I heard a meow. Oh, my cat must be outside.

“I need another bookcase.” I said to him.

His response came quickly, “No you don’t I’m sure there’s enough room on your current one.”

He came into my room, his eyes twinkling, he too, turned to look at my colossal bookshelf, which covered the whole of the wall.

“Look, Dad!” I point to the books neatly stacked at the bottom because they couldn’t fit, “They have no room at all!”

Dad smiled at me, “I’m sure you could create a bookshelf on your floor like that.”

I mock-glared at him, and whined, “Daaaad, you know I can’t. You have a day off tomorrow, can’t you build me one then?”

“I will put it on my to-do list.”

I moaned, my Dad’s to-do was about a mile long, and went from jobs that dated years back (painting the bathroom) to very recent jobs (extending the garage). If my bookshelf was put on his to-do list, it would never get done.

“There’s room there!” I pointed to the only spare wall above my bed, “You can build me one like my old room had. You know, the simple wood nailed to the wall, or whatever.”

“No, they had a terrible design. I will think long and hard about it.”

I could tell he was joking, but I followed him out of my room and down the hallway, “Think about it now and then do it tomorrow. It’s supposed to be raining so you can’t do any brick laying. You have all day to build me a bookshelf!”

I had stopped walking, Dad paused at the top of the stairs, “I will put it on my to-do list.”

I groaned and pretended to sulk. I could hear my Dad laughing, I joined in with him.

I knew it was going to get done, either tomorrow or over the weekend. There were two reasons I was positive of this: First, I was an only child and my Dad loved to see me smile, so he did a lot of stuff for me, and second, I was a wildly volatile half vampire half human girl, who with no warning, could massacre a whole village if I got angry. I got most things done for me.

I suppose I felt a bit guilty about being able to have pretty much anything done for me because people were terrified I would eat them, but they were right to worry. Of course, when I got angry, I didn’t mean to kill people, it just happened. And I regretted it deeply later. I always tried to console the families, however they ran away screaming every time they saw me. Sometimes this made me angry and I would kill the rest of them, so I gave up trying to help.

I had never killed someone close to me though. But seeing as I didn’t have any friends, I was an only child and my Mum had been murdered four years ago, my Dad was the only one close to me.

There was one major advantage of being me though. I was born with a very advanced mind. Which meant I had gone to school for a year, but at the end of that year, I knew everything my Dad knew so there was no need to continue my schooling. The Government accepted this and after that they stayed well away from my Dad and I.

Actually, I thought, staring and my bookcase, if someone wanted to hurt me, my books would be a very good place to start.

I loved my books, they were my only companions really. I loved my Dad to pieces, but he was still a Dad. My books consoled me, because they showed me fragments of lives that were so much worse than mine. Even if all of them were fictional.

I was completely sure what the name of my species was, I supposed that technically zombie was the most accurate, because I was dead but then I was saved by the kiss of a vampire.

I absentmindedly rubbed the crescent-shaped scar on my neck. I had never met that vampire who brought me back to life. I’m not that bothered either. Dad said she was nice, with short, black hair, he said she looked more like a pixie than a vampire.

Waking up from being dead, now there was an unpleasant experience. Imagine pins and needles. Now imagine that times a thousand. You now sort of understand how uncomfortable being brought back was.

I slumped onto my bed, murmuring apologies to my cat, Hazel, and turned my iPod on to some random noise. I never really got into music. It was always just background noise, quiet unnerved me. I opened my current book, an enjoyable book about demons. It was relaxing change from the endless romance that made up most of my books. I don’t think the main character in this book was even capable of love. He seemed cold.

I’d already had dinner, so there were no more disturbances that evening. It took me a couple of hours to finish my book, but I stayed up late thinking about stuff. I did it a lot. I talk to myself in my mind. Well, I speed talk. So it was about one in the morning when I finally turned my light off.

Chapter 14 – Richelle’s Point of View

Seth was made to cuddle up against. Even though he was still snoring peacefully, his arms wrapped around me as I leant into him. I closed my eyes and concentrated on his warmth.

“So,” Amelie recapped for the ninth time. “We were friends on holiday, and I was ‘killed’ by a vampire. You buried me in that cave because I looked dead and I wasn’t moving. Three days later, I unbury myself but there is no one there.”

My eyes opened slowly. “Yep, you’ve got it. You had it the first time though.”

She sighed loudly. “Are you sure that’s it? I was just a hybrid that was changed?”

“Is that not enough?” I demanded quite rudely. She hissed at me and I blinked in shock. My Mum hissed at me. It took all of my willpower to look unbothered, I had already slipped up too many times. Every time I saw her face, I wanted to jump up and hug her until she suffocated, but then she would speak to me in a detached way and it would remind me that she wasn’t my Mum, she was just Amelie.

“Not really, are you sure you aren’t missing anything? It just doesn’t seem right.”

“Well, that’s all there is. We were in Alaska, but you already knew that.”

She growled in frustration. “Why were we in Alaska? I hate the cold! Surely that wouldn’t change much with the transformation.”

“I liked Alaska,” I mumbled. “We were friends and you said you’d put up with it.”

She fell silent again and my eyes drooped, Seth’s arms tightened around me and I snuggled closer to him.

Once again, Amelie shook me from my doze with a question. “What about you?”

“Me?” Why did she want to know about me?

“What are you like? We were friends so there must have been something. And we must have been good friends because there’s something about you that just makes me like you.”

I shrugged, trying to make up a story that would work. “Not much to know about me. We met at school, we were both pretending to be human.” I decided to stick with the story about how Ria met Mum, they were friends so it would be easier. “You were losing it in gym and I recognised the signs so I pulled you away from the human before you could rip his head off.”

She looked sceptical, her brow was furrowed and her eyes were pained like she had a headache.

“Are you okay?”

She looked up at me again and blinked a few times, the red of her eyes was still disconcerting.

“Yeah, I just sort of remembered something. I think I did at least.”

My heart soared at the same time that my stomach dropped. Would it be good or bad if she remembered. “What?”

“I don’t know, just feeling really annoyed towards this guy. It might have been the thing that you were describing.”

I nodded vaguely, trying to remember which guy it had been. “Maybe.”

Seth stirred moved his arm off me, I wasn’t cold but I still shivered at the air hit me. His eyes opened slowly and he smiled goofily at me. Seeming to remember what had happened in the forest he sat bolt upright and stared at Amelie.

“Are you okay? Where are we? Who’s she?” The questions flowed out of his mouth like a waterfall – never ending.

I placed a hand on his mouth to shut him up. “Seth, stop asking questions.” I warned, trying to tell him not to ask another question ever again. “This is Amelie. She used to be a friend of mine. You never met her, but she’s a friend.”

I tried my hardest not to put too much stress on the word friend. I kept my hand firmly over his mouth as confusion and then understanding flooded into his eyes. He nodded the tiniest fraction and I loosened my grip.

He awkwardly held out his hand and Amelie shook his, just as awkwardly. “It’s very nice to meet you, Amelie,” Seth muttered and then sat back down next to me.

Amelie smiled awkwardly back at him, then her eyes became foggy again.

“Remembering something?” I asked and she nodded slightly.

“Yeah, but nothing useful. And it’s not really remembering, it’s more flashes of stuff. But I can’t concentrate, there are so many! Did I do a lot in my life?”

I wrinkled my nose and nodded. “You could never sit still, you always had to be doing something. Usually getting into trouble.” And look how much trouble you managed to get into.

“Um…Amelie,” Seth said as his stomach growled at us loudly. “Do you have any food here? I’m starved.”

She giggled and said, “Do you eat raw? I don’t really have anything else.”

Seth shrugged. “Yeah, raw is fine. If I phase.” The last sentence was directed at me as my eyes widened at the thought of eating raw.

Just before Amelie could leave I said, “He only eats animals, Amelie.”

She nodded and left to get the meat.

He leaned close and whispered, “Amelie?”

I nodded, my throat constricting. “Amelie.”

He hugged me close to him again and nuzzled my hair with his noise.

“Seth, will they come and get us? I don’t want Daddy to find out…”

He stopped kissing my head and pulled my eyes up to him. “Your Dad, and Irina, would part mountains to find you, Ellie. Anyone would.”

“He can’t find out, Seth. Daddy can’t find out.”

“Then he won’t,” Seth told me. He was going to say more but he was cut off with the return of Amelie, carrying a boar. He could still see my distress so he pressed his lips to mine, whispering so quietly that I could barely hear him. “It will be fine.”

And I had to trust him, simply because there was nothing else that I could trust.
Beautiful.
Amazing.
Wow.

I absolutely ADORE this story.
Amazing Job Charlotte :)
