Ch.18
BPOV

I can't believe I don't remember anything, like Cassey or my grandma or seeing Edward when I was 13!

"This should be were your mom gets pregnent again." Edward says opening my journal from when I was
14.

"Can you read?" I don't think I can talk that much right now.

"Of coarse." He clears his troart and starts reading, "I haven't wroting in along time. Maybe that's
because my life has been going great. We all still have times when we would miss Casey but mom
and dad are accutally happy more often. It has been almost a year since her death and they're talking
about having another baby. But they're scared. They're affraid the same thing will happen again but
I don't think it would. Joann, David and I all went to Mount Mirrors, the local assument park down
the street from Joann's house. While we were there that kid that I saw when I was in Forks popped
up in my mind for some reason. I haven't even thought about him since I got back from Forks but
know I'm going crazy. Why would I think about him while I was there?"

"Well that talks about them wanting another baby." Edward says.

"Yeah."

"Bella, Edward?" Alice knocks on the door and walks in. "Look what Carlisle found." She hands me
a paper.

"Addoption papers?" Edward says looking at them. My eyes go wide when I see the name on them.
Max.

"He he can't be addopted!" I studder.

"Let's read more." Edward rubs my back and I lean back onto the head board.

"What are you reading?" Alice asks.

"I found some of Bella's old journals."

"Here read this with everyone." I hand her the first one.

"Okay." She turns and leaves.

I take a breath as Edward reads the next page.

"I'm so happy right now!," Edward reads the first sentence on a page in the middle of the journal.
We've already read to the middle not seeing anything about adopting Max. "Here it is.Mom and dad
decided to adopt a baby. They said it's my chose, I get to pick my brother or sister! I want a brother.
That's all." He says turning the page. "Today we brought my baby brother home! Max. I love that name,
we decided on it last night. Max is 12 weeks old. His parents left him in a stroller outside of the hospital
and the adoption place said no one came to claim him. Mom and dad decided we wouldn't tell him that he
was adopted when he got older. He would think that mom and dad are his real parents." I was speech
less.

How can't I remember something so big? Why would my parents tell me to do that? How could his real
parents do that to him? God I'm confused. Edward pulls me into his arms as I start to sob.

"So Max really isn't my brother?" I sob out.

"Yes he is!" Edward pulls away to look into my eyes.

"Not blood related." I point out. Sure he's my brother because I love him more then anything and I took
care of him but his real parents are still out there somewhere.

"Bella I don't think you should tell him yet." That sentence from Edward brought back a memory.

"Bella you will NOT tell Max that he's adopted. Do you understand?" A guy with a mustach and brown
curly hair says. He's Charlie, my dad.

"Yes dad." I tell him.

"BELLA!" Edward waves a hand in front of my face.

"I remember my dad telling me not to tell Max." I tell him what I remember.

What I say next suprises me, "I think we should find his real parents."

"They might try to take Max away from you."

"They left him Edward why would they decided they want him back?"

"You're right." He kisses my cheeck and let's me go. "Let's let everyone read this and you'll try to find
them." He walks to the door and I follow him out.

"Bella, I can't believe it!" Rose runs over to me with tears running down her checks. "That's so sad." She
hugs me.

"Where's Max?" I whisper to her so Max wouldn't hear if he's around.

"Outside with Emmett and Jasper, don't worry we haven't told him."

"Thank you." She let's goof me.

"Here read this." Edward hands them the journal that's half open to the page we just read. When they're
all done it's silent.

"We're going to find his real parents." I tell everyone.

"No you can't give him to those awful people!" Esme raises her vocie.

"We're not giving him back. I just think that he should know his real parents." I tell her patting her back.

"Okay. I understand." She pulls me into a hug.

***The Next Day

"Max we need to talk." Okay that came out weird. Edward and I decided we would tell him.

"About what?" He cheered up a lot since we got here which sucks.

"Umm well you see Alice found something that-" I cut Edward off.

"Max I know you probaly don't understand this but you're adopted."

"Cool! What does that mean?" He's excited.

"Well mom and dad aren't your real mom and dad."

"What?" His face falls.

"Mom and dad took you in after you real parents left you."

"But mommy and daddy-" He starts to cry but I think he still doesn't get it but we all knew he wouldn't,
he's only three after all.

"Do you want to met your real parents?" I ask. Carlisle was able to get his birth certificate at the hospital
out here yesterday which has his parents names on it. Jacob and Renesmee Black, they were 20 when
they had Max. They live in Tucson, Arizona now.

"I guess." I pull him up in my arms hugging him tightly. "Do I have to live with them."

"No." I shake my head.

Ch.19
EPOV

We leave for Tucson the next morning. Everyone decided that they wanted to come along so it takes
longer to get there because of Emmett and his small bladder.

I pull up to a two story modern house with a car in the gradage way. I get out and open Bella's door
and she gets out slowly, I get Max out of his car seat.

"Ready?" I ask taking one of Bella's hand and one of Max's in both of my hands.

"Aww you guys look like a little family." Alice says coming up to us. I smile at that thought.

"Okay let's go." Bella says and takes a deep breath as Emmett knocks on the door to the house.

A guy with olive color skin and short black hair answers the door. I look at Max, maybe we got
the wrong address?

"Hello?" The guy says when he answers the door. We never went over what we were going to say
when we got here so we're all quite.

"Hi I'm Bella Swan, are you Jacob Black?" Bella finally says.

"Yes." He sounds confused.

"Umm well uh is Renesmee here. I need to talk with both of you."

"Sure, I'll be right back." He closes the screen door and walks away.

"Nessie we got a lot of people at the front door that need to talk to us." He yells and then walks
back to us, opening the door.

"Okay one sec!" I hear someone yell back.

"What's this about?" He asks turning to us and then a women with light brown hair and blue eyes
walks up behind him.

"Hey I'm Renesmee." She says.

"Okay this is going to sound weird but this is Max, your son." Bella just blurts out.

"Our-our son?" Renesmee chockes out.

"Yeah the one you abbondon!" Emmett says maddly from behind me.

"Emmett." Rose growls at him.

"Sorry."

"Please come in." Jacob says and they back away from the door to let us all in.

"Jacob get some chairs." Renesmee orders. A minute later he comes back with some chairs.

"Please have a seat." Renesmee smiles at us. I sit with Bella on the couch and put Max on my lap.

"Why'd you come here?" Jacob asks when we all get seated.

We explain the whole story to them the best way we can.

"So you're not giving him to us?" Jacob asks harsally. He whispers something to Renesmee.

"We'll be right back." She says and her and Jacob walk up staries.

Jacob's POV

"If we get him back we can get we can get money from the state!" I tell Ness as we reach our room.

"We need that. but they'll never let us have him."

"They don't have any parent gardians Ness all we have to do is tell the adoption place and they come
in, take the kid from her and hand him over to us." I explain simplay.

EPOV

They return a few minutes later with smiles on their faces.

"What you said earlier about giving Max to you, we didn't come here for that. We just thought he diseveres
to know his real parents." Esme explains.

"Why are you keeping him?" Renesmee asks. God these people have problems.

"Because he's my brother!" Bella glares at her.

"Watch the attiude we can take him right out of your arms!" Jacob snapes at her.

"Don't talk to her like that." Emmett stands up ready to fight. He's a little taller then Jacob.

"Let's go, forget about it." Bella starts to walk to the door.

"That kid is ours." Jacob says.

"His name is MAX and no he's not." Bella says turning back to them.

"He doesn't have a legal gardian. That's all we have to tell the social service people then he'll be ours."
Renesmee says. "Now get out of our house!" She screams. Bella runs out of the house and I pick Max
up following her.

When we reach the van Bella bracks down crying.

"They're going to take him away from me!" She sobs into my shoulder. Max is holding onto her with
me sopporting him.

"No they're not." I tell her.

"Yes they are! Why do they want him now?!"

"Come on, we'll talk at the hotel." I let go of her and put Max in his car seat and then lift her up and
put her in her seat.

*Hotel*

I pace back and fourth trying to think of something but my mind comes up blank. Bella's phone rings
and she answers it.

"Yes this is her." She says and puts it on speaker.

"This is Sandy Keeler of social services and we were informed you're taking care of a baby that has no
legal gardian." Bella looks at me and starts to cry.

"Yes." She cries out.

"That is not allowed. We will be taking him from you in the next 48 hours."

"What if we get legal gardians?" I ask.

"Then you're safe. Good-bye it was nice talking." She hangs up.

"Marry me!" I say to Bella.

"What?!"

"Bella marry me. I'm 18, we can get married and readopt Max." I get down on one knee. "Bella
Swan I love you, marry me?" I know that it's the right thing to do.

"But-but-"

"Bella you want to keep Max right?" She nods. "You love me?" She nods again. "Please Bella, marry me."

BPOV

"I do love you, but isn't selfish to agree to marry you just to keep Max?"

"You just said you loved me so it wouldn't just be for that. We love each other. People get married
because they want to live with each other for the rest of their lives. I want to spend the rest of my
life with you Bella. You're the love of my life." This is so hard. I know I can't love someone else the
way I love him, he's the love of my life too. But I want him to have the oppertuinuties to be with
someone else if he wants to.

"Edward-"


What will she say?! Sorry I had to make Renesmee and Jacob evil! Anyway thank you all for reading!
