Chapter 10

Violet’s point of view

I was in complete and utter shock. I had to sit down before I pass out. Who in the world would kill hunter. I mean he was a mean guy but he was sweet when he wanted to be.

Emily sat down next to me rubbing circles in my back. I felt like I would throw up.

“It’s gonna be ok honey.” She said. “Do you want me to call embry?”

I shook my head “no he was acting weird before I left” she stopped rubbing my back for a moment. I was startled by her actions and looked up. Her face looked worried.

“What’s wrong?” and then got what she was assuming. I stood up in outrage. “What you think embry did this?! He would never hurt hunter. Why would you think this?!”

“Violet just listen to me please sometimes because their werewolf’s the loose their tempers really easily. And you know maybe- “I cut her off, I couldn’t listen to her anymore.

“Your crazy ok? Embry would never do that and why you would think that. You’ve known him longer then I have you should know that he would never do that! I can’t believe you1 I don’t even want to be near you right now. You are unbelievable!” I said and then stormed out of the house my blood boiling, and started walking back to embry’s house.

I couldn’t believe Emily why in the hell would she accuse embry of killing hunter. Embry would never do that to him. I was still pissed when I walked into the house. Embry wasn’t anywhere to be found. So I walked upstairs to take a shower. When I got out embry was sitting on the bed. Just staring at the wall. I was a little frightened. What if embry really did kill hunter? What if it was because of me?

I walked slowly over to embry with my towel wrapped around me and sat down on the bed next to him. he didn’t even flinch or move at all. I scooted a little close to him he flinched so I moved back.

“Are you ok, sweetheart?” I asked trying to keep my distance from him.

“Im fine honey. How was Emily's?” I wasn’t sure how to bring up that Emily thought that he killed hunter.

“Well it was kind of weird” I hesitated trying to get my words together. “Emily told me that someone killed hunter.” He flinched but didn’t move anymore then that.

“Really? Who would do that?” he asked his voice monotone.

“Well…. Emily had an idea who it was but it’s was a crazy assumption. And I got mad at her for even assuming that.”

“Who did she think did it?” I didn’t say anything for a second but then wisped.

“Um …she thinks that you did it.” I said and went into a full on rant

“But I told her she crazy for even thinking that. Like I know that you had some had times with hunter because of me and all. But I know you would never hurt him because I know your not like that.” I stopped talking because I noticed that embry had a tear coming down his cheek. I jumped over and hugged him. While he barred his head in his hands.

“Its ok we’ll find out who killed hunter so nobody will blame you anymore. Ok?”

And with that it only made him cry more. He lifted his head

“violet im going to tell you something but you cant get mad and you have to listen to me all the was through.” He said. I didn’t know what he was going to say so I just shook me head.

“Well this afternoon I went and I saw hunter to try to become friends. You could tell he already had a few drinks. And I just wanted to talk to him you know. I wanted to say that we could all be friends. And even though we went through that stuff between me you and him didn’t mean anything anymore. But whatever I said he would just keep getting madder and madder. He just kept saying that I was a bad person for taking you from him. And… I don’t know I was just really mad he kept say that. So I attacked him. I didn’t mean to! But it just happened and by the time I knew what I was doing he was already dead. Im so sorry violet. I really am.”

I sat there in shock. Embry really did it. He killed hunter. I didn’t know how I was supposed to do. So I just sat there stunned not saying anything to him. Like he was doing to me just a couple of minutes ago.

He leaned over and tried to touch my shoulder, but I flinched so he leaned back to his original spot. We sat there for a few minutes in silence.

I got up put on some sweats and walked down stairs grabbed my car keys and left. I didn’t hear embry come after me. I got in the car and waited for him to come and stop me but he didn’t. So I started the engine and left. Watching his house in the rear view, and just as I was about to turn the corner I saw him standing on the porch. I turned to corner and headed for the highway.
