Aria is a werewolf hunter, until she gets bitten. Normally, if a hunter is bitten they are put to death, but Aria does not want to die. So she hides it, only telling Josh who is her best friend and a hunter. She must deal with being the very thing she hates, hiding it from everyone, and trying to keep Isaac out of trouble because he is tagged as a werewolf.

Screaming in Silence
“Stop it shadow!” I screamed, my voiced echoing around the open air all around us. His arm was wrapped tightly around Isaac’s throat cutting off his air way. . “He’s human!” This hunter did not seem to care, he should kill me; I’m the monster!
Shadow chuckled as a saw him tighten the grip around Isaac’s neck. My eyes flashed to Isaac, whose face was now turning purple, I was not going to let Shadow kill him.
I had promised myself not to embrace my werewolf, to only shift during the full-moon when I can’t do anything about it, but this is a matter of life and death. A take a deep breath, close my eyes only to open them a moment later. A smile forces on my face as a feel the power and see a bit of fear flash on Shadow’s face as my eyes glow a piercing blue.
“Let him go!” I growl.
Shadow laughs as he moved his body to Isaac is just at the edge – where is Josh when I need him. “I’ll drop him!” I knew he was not lying. My heart started to race as a feared I might lose Isaac. But before I could really do anything, Shadow dropped Isaac.

Chapter One: The Bite
“Aria, I don’t think this is a good idea,” Josh says as he adjusts his backpack on his back. I roll my eyes as I jump down from the fence and make sure my arrows are tight across my back. Josh has a hard look about him, natural and a good think when you’re a hunter, but his looks deserve.
I start running without speaking or looking at Josh knowing I was going to get the same unpleased look. Tonight the moon hung high above, a full moon, the last of the cycle. This was the one night hunters did not go out because it was the only night a bite turned instead of killed. I was ready to take that risk; Josh was not, but he had it in him mind that he had to protect me. It was a bit annoying but he was my best friend. Since my mother was the leader of our warehouse, I was under 24/7 watch.
“Why are you even doing this?” Josh whispered once we started to enter the forest. I grabbed by bow and laced it with an arrow, preparing myself.
“I’m the one that missed the shot yesterday – I’m not letting him get away again. Plus, last-nights are always boring,.” I rolled my eyes again before turning to Josh and pressing my finger to my lips.
A few moments later, just at the edge of the small creak that ran thought the forest, I heard it. The familiar growl that had been taunting me all month; Josh gripped the gun in his hands tighter and nodded at me which I returned. The two of use had each other’s backs – no matter what.
“Come on honey!” I called out to it as it’s silver eyes shined in the dimness of the moon. “We’ve played enough cat and mouse.” The one bad and good thing about werewolves was, they could remember everything about turning. They could also turn whenever they wanted, other things set it off: angry, nervousness, anything to get there heart racing.
It was a myth, they never turned into full beasts, these were humans with fangs, claws, and a bit more hair. Faster – stronger, and by far meaner than any human.
They were nothing but monsters.
He emerged out of the bushes, mouth wide open, a cat-like scream piercing our ears. I shot my arrow only to miss for the second time in two night I cursed allowed; I was to slow in reaching for another one for the best was upon me. His jet-black hair falling into his face, but his silver eyes were still visible; they wanted blood.
I did not fret, Josh shot off his gun, hitting the best in the stomach, but he did not move from on top of me; it was only when he started talking did I stop struggling under his iron grip and did Josh stand still.
“You think I’m the monster?” He howled. “You’re more wrong then you’ve ever been. I believe, my dear huntress, that you are the one that should be labeled the monster.” His voice was deep and sharp, he smiled, a crooked smile that belonged to someone who was about to do something terrible.
“I know the rules of the hunters, I should kill you, hell I want to. But I’ll leave it to your people.” Before I could register what he was talking about, he dug his sharp fans into the my shoulder, cutting though shirt and skin, injecting his poison into me.
I could not stop myself from screaming out; a scream that was mute to me but heard by everyone around. Once he released my shoulder, he smiled as he saw my utter pain I was going though. I wanted to fine my bow, shoot a hundred arrows into his face, but I could not move, the pain was too great.
Before I blacked out, I watched Josh finish what I started.
“Aria! Aria wake up, please be okay!” These are the first words I hear one I come to. My whole body ached, but my shoulder had the most pain. It was only when I saw the blood on Josh’s hand did I fully remembered what happened.
“*edited by mod* I cursed. I wanted to cry, I was bitten, and I was going to become the very thing I had hunted all my life. What was my mother going to think? No matter once, the code is, if a werewolf bites a hunter, that hunter is condemned to death.
