The Twilight Saga

10-4-10

The pain, the blood, those cold murderous eyes, its face stained with red. My pain is unbearable. I wish it would stop. My last wish is to say goodbye but now I know my last wish won’t be granted. Each step is one
step more until I thought I was going to die. I never knew it would end this
way. I looked up and prayed to God for the last time thinking I would see him
very soon. To me it was the end, and the last tear drop finally fell.

When I was little, I always knew I was special or as I called it back then, “weird”. I had jet black hair, color-changing
eyes, a so called weird and shy reputation, and finally a very big imagination.
Have you ever heard the saying “Imagination opens doors”? To me, that saying
was my escape from everything. My imagination would be my friend, my only
access to a world no one could comprehend, understand or see. My imagination
started with Disney princesses and princes with musical numbers and sing-alongs.
As I got older, it turned out I wanted to be a super hero, a billionaire, a
famous person, and a chef. The things that influenced me later in life were books;
I wanted my life to be like the people’s lives in the books, the magical
perfect life they always got just because the author assigned it to them. To me,
being seventeen doesn’t change anything. My name will always be Ren. My hair will
always be black, and hopefully my imagination will stay endless.

It was a normal day in Washington; it was very cold and rainy, everyone carrying an
umbrella with their rain boots on. Sadly my car broke down yesterday and so now
my only option was to walk to school or to take the metro bus. I decided to
walk, so I slipped on my boots, grabbed my umbrella and started the fifteen
minute walk to school. Weirdly, I enjoyed this weather and the sound of the
splashing of water at my feet, but the only thing I don’t like is when people
walk by and splash water all over you just by running in a puddle you don’t
even notice.

I saw Elli’s car pass by me, followed by Cassidy and Haley’s carpooling parade. Why wasn’t I in the carpooling parade? Well,
it’s just not my type of thing, I could go with Cassidy but I didn’t feel like
arriving at her front door like a hopeless puppy without a home but in my case,
a car.

I arrived at Kalama High School fifteen minutes before school started. I dried up my
boots, went to my locker, and headed off to class.  I went through all the crowds of people,
dodging the people walking towards me, hugging my sweater close. I was hoping
to see him today, the new kid who sat next to me in chemistry class. He was
mysterious, quiet, handsome, or at that time better looking than most boys.
What more did high school girls want?

I walked through the doors, and he wasn’t there. Instead, I saw Cassidy, my best friend,
sitting in his place ready to explode with the latest news about the Paramore
concert coming up this weekend. I sat next to her, slumped in my chair and
started to stare out the window into the gloomy gray sky. She looked at me,
frowned and said, “Why aren’t you listening to me?” she said annoyed. “Is
something wrong? You seem out of it today.”

“Yah maybe it’s that,” I said confidently, hoping that would be the true reason.

“So what did you say about the concert,” I asked, trying to seem excited. Luckily, her face lit up and she started talking about the plan
for the whole night and which hotel we going to stay at, what we should bring,
and that she wanted to go to the beach that weekend.

“How are we going to do all that in just two days,” I asked stunned.

“Well, if we walk fast we can probably do lots of stuff in a couple hours,” she said smiling.

Cassidy was the type of person that liked to go places straight away and as fast as possible. I was a type of
person who liked to go to places to take pictures and just breathe in their
beauty. Cassidy on the other hand, wanted to travel for the shops and for the right
of bragging that she gets to go everywhere, even if the place is only three
hours away.

“Well class is starting I better get back to my seat, oh and after class meet me at my locker ok?”

“Yah sounds good.” I agreed.

Class went by surprisingly fast and finally the bell rang. I started to pack my stuff up and head out the
door when he passed me and looked at me with his Rayban glasses and kept on
walking towards the teacher.

“Sorry I missed class today Mrs. Green,” it looked like he was trying to charm himself out of trouble. “My truck wouldn’t start so I had
to charge it up and bring it to the shop; I hope that’s ok with you. Oh before
I forget, I came by to see if we had any homework for today. I promise to catch
up,” he said dazzlingly.

“Oh, in that case just for today I won’t mark you absent since you did come in just before class ended.” Mrs. Green looked dazed. “Oh, here’s
your homework. Use your textbook and you’ll be fine. We didn’t take any notes
today so you don’t have to worry about a pop quiz or anything.” she said
jokingly.

He took off his glasses and said, “Thanks Mrs. Greene, I’ll make sure to make it to class on time from now on. He
flashed her smile and started to walk towards me, I thought to myself, stunned,
“Unbelievable! How can he do that? He’s late and he doesn’t even get a tardy! I
swear he has some sort of magical power!” When he turned around and looked at
me, his mood completely changed. From being happy and charming, his face looked
annoyed and angry; he looked like he was able to punch through a wall even
though he was tall and lanky.

I backed out of the way and looked down, the feeling of fear rushed through me. He
rushed past me and started down the hallway with his sunglasses back on his
face. I started walking the other direction towards my locker where Cassidy was
waiting for me; she told me that she already got my ticket for the concert on
Saturday and that she would pay me back for not giving me a ride this morning
by buying me lunch. We headed off to second period, side by side dodging the crowds
of people. We did this every other period and on the way to lunch. Like Cassidy
promised, she bought me lunch and we went to our usual table. While everyone
was eating and having conversations, I was still thinking about what happened
in chemistry. Why did he look at me like that? Did I do anything wrong? I
decided to confront him two days from now to see if I could figure this mystery
out.

Days passed and I kept on trying to ask him why he acted that way, but he would just
keep walking away. After months of trying to make peace, I decided to force him
to talk to me. So one day after school, I tried catching up to him but his Audi
took off as soon as I walked onto the parking lot. I ran to my shiny silver
Volvo shifted into gear and speed out of the parking lot.

“I hope no one saw that,” I thought to my self, smiling.

The boy whom I was following his name was Seth Underwood. To my surprise, I followed him stealthily and he
seemed like he didn’t notice me at all. He headed up to the forest trails;
luckily he had his big black Audi Q5 while I had my little Volvo C30. The trail
started to go deeper into the woods when it came to this empty dirt area where
he parked his truck and started running into the forest. I parked and followed
him, I was very curious at why he seemed so anxious about leaving school when
he was just going into the forest. So I started running after him trying to
keep up but after while I knew I was lost. I knew I was crazy running after
this boy that I couldn’t stop thinking about. I ended up tripping over a log
and started tumbling down the hill, giving my self a huge cut with blood oozing
out. I screamed in pain at all the cuts I got including the huge oozing one. I
knew I had to get up or else I would either get infected or I would bleed to
death.

At the time I wasn’t thinking about me being in a forest full of animals, that usually are attracted to the
smell of blood but I just kept on walking trying to find help and shelter. It
also occurred that I broke my cell phone during the fall. I was stranded in the
middle of nowhere, bleeding badly, and with no phone. Then, I heard a wolf howl
in the distance, I started to think I was going to be eaten by wolves if I didn’t
hurry up and find someone.

“Gosh, where did Seth go?” I muttered. “I’m bleeding, I’m cold, and I’m stuck in the middle of nowhere!” I screamed.

I heard the rustle of leaves above me; I didn’t notice I was walking beside a huge rock the whole time. Then I heard a
low growl and then I heard something jump. I backed away from the rock and
started walking away slowly step by step, making sure to not make any sudden
movements. That’s when I saw it, that big brown and black mountain lion that I
knew was going to eat me. I looked at my arm that was still oozing and decided
to run for it while I had the chance.

I went sprinting; I knew my life depended on it. I tried not to trip but I tripped twice and finally gave
up thinking it was my time to go and leaned up against the rock and started
kicking the mountain lion away but it didn’t work the mountain lion scratched
my already bad arm ripping my whole sweatshirt sleeve off my arm and luckily
not doing too much damage to me. I screamed in pain but then I saw a rock big
enough to throw which I thought would give me enough time to run. I kicked the
mountain lion really hard to distract it and it worked. I prayed to God to let
me hurt this lion back before it took my life and He heard my prayer. He gave
me the strength to pick up the rock and throw it straight into the lion’s side.
Again I screamed in anguish as more blood escaped my body. I knew the lion was
hurt but I knew I couldn’t survive this any more. I was crying against the rock.

The pain, the blood, those cold murderous eyes, its face stained with red. My pain is unbearable. I wish it
would stop. My last wish is to say goodbye but now I know my last wish won’t be
granted. Each step is one step more until I thought I was going to die. I never
knew it would end this way. I looked up and prayed to God for the last time
thinking I would see him very soon. To me it was the end, and the last tear
drop finally fell.

The lion was finally a few steps away ready to deliver the final blow to kill me. After five
seconds I felt no pain I thought I was already dead, but I opened my eyes and
saw that the mountain lion wasn’t paying any attention to me. Instead it was
paying attention to this huge brown, black, and grayish looking wolf. The wolf
was bigger than a man and the mountain lion, compared to this wolf, looked like
a little kitten. I knew I was supposed to be scared of the wolf but with this
wolf I felt safe, like it was trying to protect me.

The wolf fought the rotten little fur ball and ripped him to shreds. I looked up to the heavens
and praised God for letting me live. The wolf was looking at me in a strange
manner like he was observing me. The wolf looked familiar; It’s eyes had the
same, sad, kind eyes I saw before but I just couldn’t figure out where I’d seen
those eyes before.  The wolf turned
around and started running towards the forest; I knew I’d probably never see
that wolf ever again.

About ten minutes after, I heard a familiar voice yelling my name. I opened my eyes and
it was Seth. He came up to me looking at my battle scars and surprisingly
picked me up.

“What are you doing?” I asked surprisingly.

“Um, I’m taking you to the hospital. I don’t want you bleeding to death,” giving me one of his famous smiles.

“Ok, but how did you find me? You couldn’t have just found me randomly,” I replied smartly.

“Yah, I know I couldn’t. I followed your screams. It sounded like it was coming from here, near the big rock.” He said worriedly.
“Why are you in the forest alone? It’s very dangerous.”

“Well I kind of followed you here and fell down a hill and the rocks cut me.” I said embarrassed knowing that I should leave out the
mountain lion fight out.

“Oh, I guess I can believe that,” He laughed. “Well, why we don’t get you to the hospital and continue this conversation later? I want to
hear about why you followed me. I bet that would be interesting,” he said
smiling.

“Ok. I guess that can be the reward for saving my life,” giving him a worn-out and tired smile.

Seth held me close and started to run, it felt like I was floating in air I leaned my head against his burning chest knowing that I was
safe, I fell asleep in his arms.
