The Truth Comes Out

What if Bella had a secret past? What if it was one that made her to upset to reveal?

This story is set at about 10 years after Breaking Dawn, making it about 12 years since Bella left Phoenix at the age of 17. What will happen when the past Bella has tried so hard to hide comes out all because the Cullens decide to watch TV? How will the Cullens feel about the fact that Bella kept this from them? What will happen as more and more of her past comes out? Read on to find out………

Chapter 1 – Bpov

                “hhhhhhhhhhh” I sighed as I opened my eyes to another morning. I hadn’t been sleeping, I haven’t slept in nearly 10 years, but it was still nice to close my eyes as I lay next to Edward each night. I blinked a few times and then I turned my head towards Edward.

“Good Morning, Love” He breathed as he planted a kiss on my forehead.

“Good Morning to you too” I replied as I kissed him on the lips. After a few seconds I heard someone pounding on the door.

“Mom, Dad, Come on! You can make out later but now we have to get up and head to Grandma and Grandpa’s house! Jake’s waiting to take me to school!” Nessie yelled as she continued to pound on the door.

“We’re coming, we’re coming” Edward said as he chuckled lightly. Oh Renesmee, I thought as I started to get up and run to the closet. As I was getting dressed I thought about my daughter. It had only been 10 years since her birth and yet she already looked the same age as Edward and I.

                As soon as I finished brushing out my hair I grabbed Edwards hand and we walked together to the living room where we found Nessie waiting for us.

“Finally” she grumbled, but she smiled and walked with us out the door anyway. As we ran to the big house, moving faster than any racecar, we made small talk at a speed that no human could understand. After only a few minutes we reached our destination, and leapt through the back door.  We looked around and nearly everyone was already gathered in the living room. Alice and Rosalie were sitting at one end of the smaller sofa, heads together, and flipping through some new fashion magazines. At the other end of the couch sat Esme, who was reading a book and looking slightly bored which means that Carlisle must have already left for work. On the larger sofa Emmet, Jasper, Jake, And Seth were spread out, each holding a controller for whatever video game they were interested in today. As the three of us entered the room though, every face turned in our direction each wearing a different expression. Jasper, Emmet, Seth, and Rosalie all smiled and raised their hands in greeting. Esme looked at us with an expression of love that only a mother could show. Both Alice and Jake lit up with excitement, although for different reasons. Jake’s excitement was directed only at Nessie while Alice looked happily at my clothes. The gleam in her eye told me that I had done well in choosing my outfit for the day. My suspicions were confirmed the minute Alice spoke.

“Bella!” she squealed “Check out your outfit! I mean it still could be better, but this is a step in the right direction.” Wow, so my skinny jeans, tank top, cardigan, and flats must look much better than I thought. I bet it was the jewelry. I decided to add a necklace today and that was something Alice had been trying to get me to do for months.

“ Awwww thanks Alice, that was sweet” I told her “I think” I added as an afterthought.  Edward, Rosalie, and Esme all chuckled. The guys were to into their game to even notice that Jake had stopped playing, let alone listen to our conversation.

“ Whoa!” Jake suddenly yelled “Man, its way later than I thought. We need to go like right now or we’ll be really late and I’ll get detention and that’s not good so let’s go.” He was talking so fast it seemed hard for him to get the words out.  By the time he stopped rambling he had already jumped up from the couch, grabbed his book bag, taken hold of Nessie’s hand, and started pulling her towards the door.

“Bye guys. I’ll be home after school.” She called over her shoulder. Jake had already disappeared out the door but you could still hear him when he yelled.

“C’mon Seth! If you don’t get your butt out here right now you’ll have to find your own ride!”

“What? Oh!” Seth exclaimed, before jumping up and following them out the door. We all waited as we listened to the car start and then disappear down the driveway. Now that there were two free spots on the couch Edward and I were able to go and sit down alongside our family. I talked with Esme, Alice, and Rose for a little while and Edward scooted over to join his brothers and the game. After almost an hour we heard the sounds of the game coming to an end.

“Awwwwww!”Emmett whined, making it very clear that he lost. Again. After a few minutes of grumbling he bounced right back into his normal self.

“So” I started, getting everyone’s attention. “We still have a few hours before Nessie and Jake come home. What do you guys want to do today?”

“Well, I really wanted to run up to Seattle and check out this really cute new store that opened up. Does anyone else want to go?” Alice asked.

“I will” Rose offered.  “Bella, you and Esme should come too. We can make it a girl’s day.”

“Sure, why not.” I said. “I’ll go too.” Added Esme

“I guess we have all our plans set up. What are you guys going to do while we’re gone?” I asked. The guys had been silent until now so I wondered what activities they had in mind.

“We’ll probably just go hunting. I heard on the news that a national park up north was having a problem with some bears.” Jasper said while flashing his teeth in a slightly frightening grin.

“Be careful, and be back by two.” Esme warned as she grabbed her purse off of the table by the door.

“Yes mom.” All three boys said at the same time. Satisfied with their answer she walked out to the garage and climbed into Edward’s Volvo. It was the easiest car to drive because it was the least flashy out of the Cullen fleet.

“Bye, have fun” I said as I pecked Edward on the cheek and followed my sisters out the door. We made it to Seattle in record time with the way Alice drives and were able to locate the boutique fairly quickly. After spending the day trying on endless amounts of clothes and being directed by Alice we were all ready to go home to the rest of our family. Once we reached the house we had only a few minutes before Nessie came home so each of us went off in a different direction. Edward and I went over to the piano and I sat next to him as he played my lullaby. After only a few minutes we all hear the front door open and Nessie, Jake and Seth come through.

“Hi guys, we’re home!” Nessie yelled out as she walked over to give me and Edward a hug. After telling us about her day at school she went into the living room to watch TV with Jake.

“Hey!” she yelled. “A new episode of ‘Talented Teens’ is coming on. Everybody hurry!” Even though it was only a show about randomly talented teenagers we all loved it and the thought of a new episode was actually somewhat exciting. Within seconds everyone was gathered in the living room. Even Carlisle and Esme had come to watch. Once we were all comfortable and focused on the TV we waited as the show’s theme song played. Once the notes of the song faded the host of the show (Nancy Carter) came onto the screen. She opened her mouth to speak and her next words are what changed everything.
