Robert Pattinson and Kirsten Stewart gets second time lucky with Twilight saga

The Twilight team led by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart swept the MTV Movie Awards last year by winning awards in five categories. It bagged the award for Best Movie, Best Fight (Robert Pattinson vs. Cam Gigandet), Breakthrough Performance Male (Robert Pattinson), Best Kiss (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) and Best Female Performance (Kristen Stewart).

The subsequent success of the second installment “New Moon” has given the Twilight stars a further opportunity to grab the Golden Popcorn.

Twilight pair Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart is once again nominated for Best Kiss. Other onscreen pairs who will be competing for the title are Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in “The Proposal”, Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington in “Avatar” and Kristen Stewart again for her lesbian kiss with Dakota Fanning in “The Runaways”.

Pattinson and Stewart along with co-star Taylor Lautner have received individual nominations for their acting skills and star power. Kristen has been nominated for Best Female Performance while Rob and Taylor have each got nods for Best Male Performance. Moreover the trio is also up for the new Global Superstar Award.

Lastly “New Moon” has been short listed for the Best Movie Award along with Oscar nominated movies like “Avatar” and “Hangover”. Although the movie has been lined up with top contenders it still can win given the fact that last year “Twilight” beat out both movies like “Slumdog Millionaire” and “The Dark Knight” to win the Best Movie Award, after all the winners are picked by fans.

'Twilight: Eclipse' Clip: Dakota Fanning Gets Angry, Very Angry

In the latest "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" preview, the familiar faces of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner are missing. Instead, the 40-second clip features Dakota Fanning's Jane and her fellow Volturi vampires in a scene that's unique to the movie. It's a clear indication that the Volturi will be getting more screen time in the film than they do in the novel, where they only appear in Forks at the very end after the vampire-werewolf battle subsides.

"Eclipse" once again finds Bella's life in peril as Victoria's legion of newborn bloodsuckers draws ever-closer to Forks. But even before they reach Bella, the just-turned vamps' wild actions in Seattle attract the attention of the formidable Volturi coven, who, as we can recall from "New Moon," do not take light of activities that threaten to expose the vampire community.

Jane, along with Felix, Alec, and Demetri, witness the chaos and destruction the newborn army is causing in the city. They are obviously not pleased.

Demetri observes that "they've already drawn too much attention."

"So has our inaction," Felix adds. "Others may begin to question the Volutri's effectiveness."

Jane stoically responds, "Let them."

Not happy, Felix suggests, "Maybe we should consult with Aro," the Volturi leader.

Poor Felix. He should've kept his thoughts to himself, because, in the blink of an eye, Jane uses her power -- to inflict a mental illusion of agonizing pain -- on Felix and brings him to his knees. Ouch!

"Aro's decisions are being watched. Either we let them do what they were created for or we end them," Jane darkly contemplates. "Decisions, decisions."

Even though it's straying from Stephenie Meyer's book a bit, I'm all for more Volturi scenes since I'm totally digging Fanning as Jane. She plays the detached evil-vampire role perfectly. And, besides, who doesn't love a good villain?
