Is that an antarctic term, Kaysi?

Sucks that a lot of the old crew aren't around here much anymore, but I can't talk, considering that I haven't been around for a long time either.  I haven't seen the new movie yet, which makes me feel kind of lame.  I just got my Eclipse DVD back from my brothers girlfriend, so now I can watch the first three movies again and then hopefully go and see the new one at the cinema, if it is still showing,  If not, I guess I'll have to wait and get the DVD when it comes out and settle for reading the books again.

I LOVED THE MOVIE!

Seen as I couldnt get to Sydney or Brisbane to watch the premier, I made my hubby watch all the DVDs in the days leading up to the release & then he took me to the local cinema to see it!

I think he liked as he was asking questions afterwards to get a better understanding of it all :)

Wowsers - it seems TTS has been going off like a frog in a sock..... a dead frog that is.

Bianca - good to see you again - it seems that no one is around....

Carolyn - you know my opinion on it all and I can't be bothered typing it all out - but basically, yes, I agree. But it was mentioned somewhere that there are multiple places they stash clothes.

Hello Geoff.. I am sure we all remember you, but we are rarely around here anymore

I wonder how many people around here will remember me?

So I have now seen Breaking Dawn pt 1 twice and here are my thoughts on it.

Overall I liked the movie, I thought they captured the basis of that part of the book however I was disappointed at a couple of things being omitted.

  1. I was really looking forward to the scene at the beginning of the book where Edward and Bella tell Charlie they are getting married.
  2. The banter between Rosalie and Jacob, especially the “Fido” bowl scene. Seriously how hard could it have been to put that in.
  3. Really wished that they had included the part where Jacob takes off and tries to imprint on random strangers. It certainly would have made Leah’s comment about trying to imprint make more sense and it shows that it isn’t that easy to imprint on somebody.

A few other things that I thought were a bit strange were:

  1. The wolf speak scene was really strange, very Star Warsy.
  2. The dream wedding was just bizarre and I thought that was supposed to be about the baby killing everyone, not Edward. Also the whole white thing made it seem very much like the scene in the last Harry Potter movie.
  3. The thing that really annoyed me was that when Jacob and the others would shift into a wolf, you would see their clothes rip to shreds, but in the next scene they are fully dressed again. Do they have a shed in the woods full of clothes all of a sudden? If so then they have ripped off the Shiver series!

Anyway these are just my thoughts from the movie, what are yours?

Yes, I agree.

I guess we will see and learn a lot more about imprinting in Part 2. The specicial effects team did a fantasic job creating an older Renessme. Those wolf voices were plain starge and a big blunder.. I could not stop laughing. It sounded like Transformers or something. Plain strange...

Yes, the chaning appearances are a little worrying. They did look the best in Twilight, the looked the most like vampires, and the least pasty... But yes, they still look great in every film.

I think they really did a fanastic job, everyone involed. Breaking Dawn was a full on and chaotic book to read, and we can only imagine what it would be like to convert such a complicated book to film. They nailed it.

Breaking Dawn was such a intesne book and I think they did a great job in portraying as much as they could in part one, im just happy that they didnt 'ruin' it, i think it could have been really bad but thankfully it wasnt! They managed to get all of the key scenes in and still make it understanble for those who are unfortuante and havent read any of the books, they could still follow.... I think maybe they could have slightly elaborated a bit more when Jacob was imprinting on renesme and that the wolfs voices were a bit 'bizare' but other than that no complaints here!  It also would have been good to see a bit more of Bella as a vampire too...

I still think that Catherine Hardwicke should have had some form of involvment in all of the movies, the way the characters look in Twilight is exactly as you imagine reading about them, they look great still now but nothing beats seeing Edward walk past the window in twilight and getting those tingles and wow factor! I think the cullens look slightly 'off' a massive difference from twilight, I would have liked them to look the same throughout all of the movies but other than that im just glad it was a success and not a failure!
