Jacob Manipulating Bella?

I don't know about you, but i certainly get the feeling that Jacob manipulates her. After nursing her to a somewhat normal state during New Moon, its obvious he knows how she works. He has left his mark. Since he fixed her, he knows how best to break her.
Not only does he pick and choose when he talks to her, he doesn't even hardly give her the chance be angry with him. But then he goes and pulls the whole 'i'll go kill myself in that fight down there' card. He says Edward is playing a game, but the game is Jacob's, a game for some reason he's winning and losing at the same time.

i agree he is very manipulating but i also think it's a typical young teenager response x i think that she needed that tho so she could see how different and better for her edward was x

I think the three of them,( Edward, Jacob, & Bella,) are equal in the manipulation. One is not more manipulative than the other. Edward manipulated Bella and Jacob to try to get his way. Jacob did the same. As did Bella. Jacob made Bella admit that she loved him and that he was as much in her heart as Edward was. It was only after she came to terms with this did she have no doubt that it was Edward she was going to be with forever. It was not Jacob's game. It was never Jacob's game. He lost before he even began.

i totally agreee he was using that "i can't stand to see Jacob hurt" through the whole series

To be honest i think Bella's character was like that with Jacob because Stephenie made it so; so that Jacob could stay in the story. And then even more so when you think about the whole imprinting on Renesmee! Just excuse after excuse to keep him in the story.

Okay let me say this first. I am Team Edward all the way...

Jacob is a manipulative person but... him and Edward did agree that neither was fighting fair so I guess what he did with the whole I'll just get myself killed was just part of the game. I mean you could look at it like this. He was down to his last card and Edward was showing Aces. What would you do? Jacob is desperate at this point. I look at it like this... He had to try one last time and it showed Bella he was right, she did love him just not like she loves Edward.

But what would he have done if Bella didn't ask him to kiss her, but just pleaded as much as she could for him to stay? Like not say I'm in love with you, but rather i love you, please stay?
If Bella really was his best friend she'd be able to tell what he was doing, seen as she knew him 'inside and out'... to be honest her doing that just proved her weakness.
