i thnk its perfectly normal for bella to love edward and jacob at the same time as ive been in tht sort of situation too.. out of the two there will be one u love and want to be with the most as edward is for bella.. what a beautiful love story, complicating yet sweet

My comments are not that Edward is bad by stating Bella is his, I see that point and understand how he feels. My point was that Stephenie makes Bella ok with being a possession for Jacob to try to win. That she is helpless to stop him from fighting for her. She is a girl not a doll yet she acts as helpless as a doll when it comes to Jacob and his advances, flirtations and games.

Bella did tell both Jacob and Edward she had made her choice many times but their is not much she could do if Jacob wanted to keep fighting for her. Only once did Edward say "she is mine" and at the time I was shocked but I totally get that sentiment. I think if I was Bella I would feel like we belonged to each other not just that she belongs to him but that he also belongs to her. Out of everyone in the book I think Edward has the least choice because he can not live without Bella, he truly belongs to her. In that sense he is not her property rather her follower and that does not make him any less strong, the same can be said for Bella.

I hated Jacob for that! It was like he was provocing Edward, do that he would loose it! That way the Cullens wopuld be history cause that Quillets would make sure of that! But Edward keeps his cool so thay kind of backfired. Jacob is slimy and I dont like him!

I think the fact that Charlie laughed when he found out his daughter was kissed w/o it being ok with her was stupid. What father would be ok with any guy forcing themselves (even just a kiss) on their daughter. Jacob should have been arrested for assault for that. The book makes it seem its ok for guys to do whatever they want. Jacob constantly says he is fighting to get Bella, Edward says he is fighting to keep what is his and Bella doesn't say hey wait I am not property and I have made my choice so back off? What message is that???

well, i think this book is really good, but actually not my favorite. i don't know, it just damages or breaks in some sort of way the "perfect" love between Edward and Bella, i don't know, but i think true love is unbreakable, i mean, just look edward, he'd never do something that can "break" his love for her. and it's not that she is "so human", LOVE ISN'T HUMAN, i mean, true love is beyond human, it is supernatural, that's why not everyone believe in true love, because not everyone find it.... so, Bella loved edward, too much, but she had this moment of doubt and well, for me, that's the only thing that doesn't make this story prefect. i wish SM rewrite that part (kidding) hahhaha... anyway i think bella isn't that great, she's really selfish in many ways and she's always thinking about what she wants, not what edward wants and that is just not fair... i don't like that, and i don't know... i like better "angela", bet she's better person actually.... but well, i guess bella has to have something really good for making edward love her so much...
