Dear Team Edward members: Why do you all hate Jacob so much?

I am also team swiss, but i can see edward fans seeing jacob as a threat. Jacob sees all of edward, not through the rose glasses bella does.

hmmmm..... in ever thought of that before, and i totally get your point. bella always thinks of edward as perfect but he makes mistakes, but jake is the only one to see them.

When I read New Moon, i didn't mind Jacob's character. I thought is was great of him to help Bella through such a hard time. But when Edward came back, Jacob is constantly pressuring Bella to be with him, even though she is in love with Edward. Jacob constantly does things to make Edward seem like a bad guy. Now I basically hate Jacob. Even after Bella tells Jacob where she stands, he's always trying to kiss her or DOES kiss her. I mean, threaten to kill himself to get her to kiss him??? How selfish can you get??? So that's why I hate him. I actually would probably like him if it weren't for all that. What I hate is when people are Team Jacob because he is "hot". He is played by an actor. Taylor Lautner. If you are Team Jacob because he is hot then you would be Team Taylor NOT Team Jacob!! :)

Jason Mraz writes in song, "It's like taking a guess when the only answer is yes..."
That's why Edward fans are less than supportive of Jacob. Jacob is a great guy, he was there to pick up the pieces when Edward left. He seems to get Bella, and as Bella said, she could really see her future with him. All of that said, it was never Jacob, and that feeling resonates in the reader's bones. The only answer was always Edward.

I think Jacob is a really likable character, and I really enjoyed getting to know him throughout the series. But honestly, Bella had one roadblock after another when trying to get to her happily ever after with Edward. It was frustrating at times that Jacob was one of those roadblocks, that's all.

Personally eventhough I am a team Edward I still like Jacob, I mean lets face it ppl if no Jacob no story, he is a major part of all the books after Twilight because the wolfs are a major part of the stories. The reason that some people don't like him is because he becomes involved with Bella and no one wants him or anyone else to be with Bella other than Edward. But that mostly happens just in New Moon while Edward is gone. I think after Eclipse comes out and there is more Edward & Bella being together a lot of ppl will change their minds on Jacob.

I'm definitely Team Switzerland now, but when I first read New Moon I really didn't like Jacob because it seemed like he was taking Edward's place.

I am team Edward all the way, but it doesn't mean that I hate Jacob. I dislike the way he acts at times. I am forever indebted to him for saving Bella in New Moon. Even-though I think he acted like a child in Eclipse.

I admit that i am definatley team Edward, i dont hate Jacob, i think he needs to be part of Bella's life and your right he isn't a gentleman, but if i am honest, his attitude annoyes the hell of me. What i dislike is when he changes he is just so cocky, and the way he goes after someone elses girlfriend, im not saying that Bella didnt have part to do with this but after Italy, and that he must of knew then that she loves Edward and cant be away from him, and i know Bella wants to see him and thats normal whn its a best friend and again i know she loved him too.. but he knew it WASNT enough, yet he kissed her against her wwill then proceeded to bribe her to kiss him again whether she asked himor not, she blackmailed her into it and you don't do that to someone you love... He knew she wouldnt leave Edward he knew and still if you love someone then you let them be happy even if its not with you...

I am Team Edward 100%, but I love Jacob as well! I don't understand it either how Edward fans can "hate" Jacob. (Hate just seems too strong.) Yes, he is completely opposite of Edward, but Jake is such a wonderful person, with so much to give (to Bella)! I simply adore him! Bella is all the better to have someone like Jacob in her life, even if she has Edward in all his glory! The story would definitely not be the same without Jacob & who he is. Jacob brings a sense of balance into Bella's life-seeing that she's all consumed with Edward. Jacob is refreshing, light hearted, carefree.......it's the "real world" with Jacob. (Edward/Bella relationship is one of a kind, nothing compares. Not all of us can have such a relationship.)

Well Kelly, the truth is that I can't see it either! I love Jacob and think that picking sides it's just silly! Besides you can't compare Jacob and Edward because they are totally different. I'm Team Edward in the fact that I believe he is perfect for Bella, but I absolutely adore Jake. I was so happy he got a happy ending, he deserve it. But the fact is that some people get so caught up in the idea that Bella and Edward must be together that dislike Jake for threatening their happy ending. Which I think it's ridiculous cause Jake brings so much excitement to the saga! Besides he is the one who helps Bella to survive the darkest period in her life and is a friend till the end and truly family. So I guess I'm too Team Switzerland! They should get a t-shirt with that so those of as who can't decide get to buy something cool!

I agree with you 100%. I get that Jake is threatening Bella and Edward's happy ending, but what's to hate? He is a major character in the story, and a great guy at that. You should be a team Switzerland campaign manager.
