Comment by Mique Isanac on July 1, 2010 at 11:06pm: I hate to be the voice of dissent-though I am glad the wait is over, I am not blown away by this movie like I was with Twilight and New Moon.
Everything seemed skimmed over and skimped upon. I will buy the DVD as soon as it comes out, but I won't be returning to the theatre (saw it twice, one after another) for this again. I appreciated the effort that Bryce put in, but Rachel would have killed it. Esme looked scary, Rosalie looked weird, I wish they would have kept Alice's hair from Twilight (the best representation of the style), Emmett looked truly like a vampire, why can't Jasper's hair from Twilight come back?!
Looking at what I just wrote-if I get into it, the disappointment is kind of overwhelming. The books are the treasure. The movies are a bonus!

Comment by Caramella Dura on July 1, 2010 at 7:36pm: Totally agree Bryce Howard wasn't a strong enough or menacing enough presence. She almost seemed timid in her presentation of Victoria. I also didn't like Bella's hair. It kept changing from real hair to wigs and it was so obvious. I also thought they made Esme look positively wretched in the fight scene. Why did they decide to make her look like an old woman?

The morning after the marathon I woke up early and wanted to text, my neighbour who went we with me to the marathon, to ask her if we could go again that day. I am still in walking on a cloud thinking of Edward. He is so lovely and strong and sexy in Eclipse. Definately going again, and after that perhaps again
But I have to say, one minor point of the movie, I didn't like Bryce Howerd as Victoria that much. I think now it was a bad move to swith from Rachelle Lefevre, she had a sort of feral quality, which suited the part.

Comment by I Want A Jasper on July 1, 2010 at 9:37am: Soooooo....I saw Eclipse yesterday w/my best friend & it was.....AWESOME! I could've watched it again as soon as it was over! It seemed like it was only on 5 minutes! I was so wrapped up in Edward! We have a small community theatre & a drive-in locally, so I plan to see it again SOON! Whooooo hooooo!

Comment by ramora on June 30, 2010 at 1:45pm: I have booked my tickets to see Advaced screening of Eclipse on Sunday in Glasgow!! I am taking my niece, we have a 6hr round trip but i cant wait and i am officially "the best auntie ever!!!" We were going to go on opening night but we will be away at a music festival and she was devastated that we wouldnt get to see it till the following week!!! I think i might just have to go and watch Twilight and New Moon now!!! Oh man i am so excited!!!

I planned to watch Twilight & New Moon at home tonight or in the AM as a "pump-up" for Eclipse, but I accidentally deleted New Moon! I could've shot myself in the foot!

When I think back at my favorite scenes, the bedroom proposal, the meadow and the Edward getting in Jacobs face about kissing Bella, the battle, it is all so great. The battle with the newborns was sooo cool. I can't wait for you to see them all also. Frankly the movie was over too quickly. Have fun tomorrow!!

Actually it was the marathon, so I got to see Twilight also for the first time on the big screen. I even liked New Moon a lot better now. When I saw it the first time I was a little disappointed. But seeing all the three films after eachother really made sense. They did really an excellent job with Eclipse. Every important scene was there. The storyline fit, it was romantic and actionpacked. Just wanted to slap Bella when she kissed Jacob, but that is my personal preference for Edward. Robert Pattinson was great as Edward. I fell in love with him again. Definately going to see the film again. I convinced my boyfriend to join me then, but his condition was that he didn't want to go when there were girls screaming in the audience. So we have to wait a few weeks, I think.
