The Twilight Saga

June 2011 Changes to Rules and Guidelines

The following addition will be made to the Site Guidelines on June 22, 2011:

17. TheTwilightSaga.com is the home for fans of the Twilight Saga novels and movies online.  The content of the site – its discussions, its groups, its members – should primarily be focused on The Twilight Saga. The Site Rules stipulate the criteria by which content on the site will be maintained and any content that does meet these criteria will be deleted.

The following changes will be made to the Site Rules on June 22, 2011:

5. All TheTwilightsaga.com users should be active members in the community. Therefore to keep the site active and manageable:

a) GROUPS: all groups that have fewer than 50 members or have not been active for 3 months will be closed.

b) USERS: any memberships inactive for over 6 months may be deleted. To save your account all you have to do is log in here.

c) DISCUSSIONS: all discussion threads that have been inactive for 3 weeks or more may be removed.

6. TheTwilightSaga.com was designed to be a home all things Twilight! Discussions and groups related to Twilight or closely-related subjects are strongly encouraged. And while we appreciate that you are also fans of other things (like the many and varied works of Aaron Spelling? Seriously?) to keep the site focused and manageable groups not related in some reasonable way to the Twilight Saga will be closed.

nycmaire - I want in XD

I have created a discussion about these changes HERE

why don't we ask stephenie's opinion? she's on here from time to time. we might not get a response right away (read her page) but i bet she'll have some feedback AND the power to do something about it. For those who doubt my belief that SM is on here, have faith, She friended me and i tracked it down..it was too weird for her to friend me, i thought. BUT since this  site is run by hachett books i do believe it is her. check out my friend page..or maybe she already friended you.

another option is to write a serious petition to state exactly what we, THE FANS, with whom it would be impossible for TTS to have become as ginormous as it is now, would like to see on this site. I want to keep the  various "team" groups...like team rosalie  or team esme. i can see why there are so little posts with these characters but hey, SM didn't give them enough of a role in the books. i love esme. i don't want that group/mom's group to close..just because i don't spout esme's praises or fabricate long posts about what her cooking italiano for bella really means, lol.

i'm serious about the petition. there is a site called...the petition site. anyone can write up a petition and when we reach our designated amount of signatures, we send it off to hachette and hope for the best. post and/or pm me if you want in...only b/c we need to get this petition started and air our wants and ideas. we also should vote for who should be the writer of the petition.

here is the link to the petition site , just to get a clearer picture of what i mean. (it works sometimes. i am not bragging, no no no but one of the petitions i signed got a political prisoner released from some god awful gulag.)

think about it.

the petition site how to

example of petition after finished

So, the off-topic section is gonna be closed?

Will the community games and off-topic section still be available?

Maybe because it brought people together. I don't think it's quite as extreme as communism, but I think it's unreasonable.

And if you don't agree, post a logical argument instead of just calling me stupid (I only say that because it's happened before).

I cant believe these posts.  This is the Twilight fan site and they keep this going with a lot of hard work ... for Twilight fans.   LOL are you kidding? Communism?  There would be no outlet to express yourself or enjoy a fan site like this one... yes, if u dont like Twilight take your friends and pay to start your own ning group. Simple.  Why should this site carry you along if you aren't a fan?

This is stupid. This is really, really stupid. Half of my friends, including myself, don't even like Twilight anymore. We're here for the community, and if you shut down these groups, you're shutting down our community, and in turn our support systems. I've made great friends here I can trust better than some of my friends I go to school with. The inactivity stuff I get, but really? Closing groups that don't have to do with Twilight.

You may as well call yourselves the 'Let's-Exclude-Everyone-Who-Isn't-Like-Us-So-They-Go-Away Saga.'

This is communism at its rawest form, controlling what people under your 'rule' get to do, how they get to think, to socialize, basically, where they get to talk.

Next thing you know, I'll be getting banned for this post because it 'contradicts site beliefs' or some other bullcrap.

I think the guidelines are reasonable.  This is a TWILIGHT website.  To maintain the site, it takes time, money, energy and a bit of aggravation.  I'm still surprised there are people who hate Twilight who have accounts here.  In a way, I feel like some of them (not all) are taking advantage of all the hard work the people who maintain the site do.  I'm sorry, but there are other social networks people can utlize for non-Twilight fans, such as Twitter.   I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but having read some of the caustic, hateful comments from some anti Twilight people, makes me wonder how in the hell do they reconcile having an account here?  It's like being a Democrat on a Republican social network.

I agree with you deciding you need to keep the site Twilight-related, but it seems a little extreme to me.

I mean, sure, Twilight brought people here together. But it's not their only bond, and they should be able to express that here. I mean, does that mean Harry Potter groups wil be deleted, just because it's not 'related' enough to Twilight? Seriously?

I'm sorry if you think I'm being harsh, it's just my opinion & since I don't like Twilight (being honest here, guys) I'm scared most of the groups I like will get deleted. Guess I've always got MS...
