Just a quirky birthday message from some of my favorite men to another....From one legend in history to another.I often parallel "my favorites" together, because U2 and Twilight has had a similar…Continue

Danette (DMK) replied to JJ's discussion LOVEMy son won first place for his Twilight Saga Books Halloween costume!!!
(I hand painted them).....some people thought it was just computer graphics pasted until they got a closeup to view.
He also won 1st. place at the recent Twilight convention in NC....he was not happy...and screamed bloody murder while on stage.
"Me" with my homemade Birthing Bella Halloween Costume....before Breaking Dawn part 1 came out....this is how I envisioned Bella to look while pregnant with 1/2 vampire spawn "Renesmee"...in my MIND....
No... I don't normallly look that bad or tired....maybe I felt that bad when I personally gave birth to all three of my children via c-section!!!!!!! (ha).
I won first place for scariest Halloween costume....I wonder why???? It should have been for most disturbing!!!
At the Twilight convention....I didn't win....however, I did get an article written just about me, my family and my 1/2 breed vampire baby exploding from my belly by a local Newspaper. We also Got our tickets free for the Twilight convention because I submitted these Halloween Twilight photos into a contest and Won!!!!!!!! It was an overall Great day!!!!...My son may have not been happy....but, I was!!!!!

I adore Twilight..the books..the movies and the actors...but, Consistency has been an issue for me within the twilight MOVIES since Catherine Hardwicke made her decision to depart from directing any more of the Twilight movie series.
Catherine set the foundation and tone for the remaining book/movie adapations. I think she really did a fabulous job...she gave the next directors a wonderful cast, glorious and lush visual acuity..and a "indy", sexy, romantic, dark and sultry, base…

Pinkie said… Danette,
I promise you will not be harassed by me. I am not even trying to win any favor with you, now. I just wanted you to know that my comment was not intended to be taken as a slap to you; but just what I observed. Although I think it is best we move on because I am tired of always needing to explain what I say or do; I did need you to know I was not trying to hurt you and I am sorry that it did. I did not read your last post before I deleted the thread as I did not see it. I learned from the post Lorece left you that you had written one. Any way I think that is all. Pinkie
Sloan Cowart said… Hi Danette,
I am a bit slow with navigating on the computer. I just figured out how to read your entire post to my profile. How amazing how much we have in common. I went through this same fascination with Harry Potter, but the fascination with Twilight is the romantic level it is based on. The Second Life of Bree Tanner was amazing...Jodelled Ferland is a great actress...to bad her part was so short. Speak to you soon....so much to chat about.

Cupcake said… My Mother is an 80's girl, though lots of books, Pandora stations and my own curiosity fueled my love of older alternative / gothic stuff (Particularly The Cure being my favorite, with Bauhaus, The Smiths and Inkubus Sukkubus, Joy Division and most of the bands you named). Ha, I think it's perfectly healthy to be a well-rounded individual. I'm actually quite bouncy if not shy, spiritual and clean-cut, myself whilst dark and goth. (My purse is made of the cover of an Anne Rice book. It's perhaps my proudest possession next to my Doctor Who merch). bI'm also a fandom nerd, and it's perfectly acceptable to be more than one thing.
I'm a sometimes-fan of U2, though was less familiar with that song. Thank you!
Oh, one we haven't mentioned: Siouxsie and the Banshees. I kind of wish I were Siouxsie Sioux sometimes, not gonna lie.
Cupcake said… Ahhh, I've always loved Cuts You Up. It's one of my Mom's favorite songs, so I associate it with car rides with her <3
Goodness, I love how cerebral his music is too, and I listened to the song you sent me: I'm not in love! I simply adore the haunted feeling. Perfect for reading and writing and thinking about!
Cupcake said… I love your music taste. INKXS, U2, Peter Murphy and Bon Iver are all wonderful.

Caitlin said… I haven't seen him in that. I may have to check it out sometime. :)
I haven't gotten to see it yet. I'm home from college this weekend and am visiting family. Next week will be super busy as well. I have heard good things about it.
