I did the same thing. Saw the movie first. A friend told me about the book and then the trailers pulled me in...now I am hooked. Co-worker didn't like the movie and she read the book first. I disagree. Yes some things were left out of the book but SM does not tell a short story and I wouldn't want her to. Movie can never fully do a book justice.
