"I know it's easy to be cynical, but I don't think it was a hoax. I don't think Kristen and Rob seem like people who would do something like that simply because they've always come off as such private individuals. If…"
"I've no idea about July, but I'd certainly like to try! Your Oct plans sound great, but I definitely doubt I can make that (bummer!). Oct has always turned out super busy, so I won't vote on that. Sure would love to…"
"I'll be at my Mom's for the next two months, but I don't think my husband would let me go totally Twilight on the decorations even so (sigh, no real sense of style that man!) :-D And I still don't know how to…"
"Agreed. The book ending's action was more like a mental chess game, which works fine in print but hard to do in film. I figure Stephenie would make sure it's translated well, and I think Melissa R has done a good job to date,…"
"Hey, is anyone familiar with the historical sick nutcase Elizabeth Bathory, the Blood Countess? I think they drew upon her story for some of the character of Ravenna, Snow White's nemesis; however, Ravenna is a downright sweetie compared…"
"Interesting! Well, it should get design and cinematography nods next year at the very least. Excellent effects. Every time I've seen it, I try to read where the filming took place (if you check the credits at the end: filming…"
1) I'm a horrible, incurable romantic.
2) I'm a bibliophile, cinephile (film fan), theatre fan, and I love "Kid Lit" as well as "regular"; plus, I like vampire stories, some "horror" of the classic kind only (don't care for the "Omenesque" and hate the "stab and slash.")
3) Former English major and English writing instructor (wish I could write fiction; I admire and envy Meyer!)
4) Love to communicate with other fans of my fave hobbies and interests
5) I cry at a drop from an inkwell: Bambi's mother dyingk, Beth in Little Women, Edward thinking he's hurt Bella, Bella thinking of losing Renesme, Bella & Edward's wedding (I always cry at weddings), Edward's "farewell" to Bella, Res, and Jacob
When Did You First Read Twilight (year) and how many times have you read a Twilight Book (total)?
I'm a late-comer. I only read them for the first time earlier this year, and am now on my second go-'round. 3/18/09--now it's three. I keep re-reading.
Team Edward or Team Jacob? Why?
Oh, that's hard because they're both terrific guys. I guess Edward just barely edges out Jacob for me because I have a thing for the sexy vampire: Frank Langella's Dracula, David Borantz (sp?)'s Angel, etc., and in horror literature, it's my favorite, but I also find American Indian cultures facinating and the people beautiful/attractive, so it's hard. Edward also has the edge for me because I like Meyer's connections to both Romeo and Heathcliff and the intensity of the passion there. I'm part Italian; we like the "passione" :-)
Which Character Are You Most Like?
According to some test I took online for fun, Bella, according to another: Esme. I was never as slender and attractive as Bella, but when I was young, our coloring was similar, and of all the characters our likes and personalities match best--not entirely, I was always more verbose and theatrical (a few of Alice's traits but not the "graceful" or petite), but the wry sense of humor, the insecurities, the clutizness put me closest to her, the traits that make her so universal.
To Kill a Mockingbird, Traveller In Time by Alison Uttley, Romeo & Juliet and most Shakespeare, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Sense & Sensibility, Little Women and Alcott's novels, Celia Garth, Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising Series, Elswyth Thane's Dawn's Early Light series, Gone with the Wind, Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings series and the Hobbit, and now Meyer's Twilight series
