To Jennifer Valenzuela (hope you don't mind Sus):Skype is a FREE program which can be used to chat, talk, and/or video call other ppl that have skype on their computers.It can also be used to call ppl almost all over the world on their phones (with your computer), but that will cost you some...although their rates are usually better than any phone company.If your are using Skype with another person that has Skype on their computer, then it is all FREE.  You don't have to turn on the video part if you don't want to, nor do you HAVE to speak...you can just "chat" if you like, but you can also do all three at the same time too :DAlso, you can conference-call with up to 8 different ppl at the same time (not with video though, just audio and chat)...in that case, everyone on that call can hear each other...which can be very useful sometimes too.I know, I know, I sound like a commercial for Skype, and really, they should pay me for all the ppl I have gotten to start using Skype throughout the years, but I have no connection with them...I just really like Skype.  It is a pretty awesome program!If you are going to use it for anything other than "chatting," like talking, then you need speakers and a microphone or a headset with a microphone (preferable by most, so that you don't get possible feedback).I have family and friends all over the world, so it saves us a TON of money to use it to talk to each other instead of using phones...and, if we are in the mood to see each other (on good-hair days LOL), then we can turn on the video too (although not recommended if you have a slow internet connection).It is also pretty user friendly too...very easy to search for ppl and add them to your list to be able to communicate with them.  Of course, they have to be on when you try to call them to connect with them.  Hope that helps explain it.  If you need any other info on it, just ask :D
