"He looked at her. "You are all mine and i am all yours." He sighed. "I know and i am sorry. I cant make those feelings go away i was married to her." He touched her cheek. "But it is just you i want.""
His eyes met hers in an intense glare and he cleared his voice again, rubbing his hands together. "How do I put this into terms that won't affect our growing relationship?" He murmured, leaning into her ear teasingly. He pulled back and sucked in his bottom lip before parting his lips, trying to find the right words. "I expected you to throw me out-- because truth be told-- New York City isn't the friendliest place around. I was born in Louisiana-- with my mom. My dad was in the army. So mama taught me how to treat a female and tell her exactly what was on my mind." He looked down at his fingers and looked back at her. "I have no idea why I am saying this. We only met like what-- 2 hours ago. And considering I was skilled to observe and question and analyze-- that's all I've been doing since I met you. I tried to find flaws-- anything that would question whether you should come with me or not. I guess the only reason I offered was because I trusted you the minute you asked if I needed help. Then I discovered more because I'm just.. that.. DAMN.. GOOD." He bragged a little, coming closer. "You have the purest shade of hazel eyes. Near the irises-- I can almost see yellow." He murmured, locking her gaze. "And when you look like you're about to cry.. and yes, I noticed-- you give this little pout. I couldn't determine whether to smile or pull you into a hug yet I refrained from it all." He shifted his eyes behind her and shook his head as if he was insane for telling her this. Technically, he was. "And I'm relieved you are here.. not because I have someone to protect-- but because you actually make me feel needed-- and I guess I'm growing increasingly attracted to you. Never met someone so-- out of touch with the world. If the makes sense.." He stopped and looked back at her before chuckling, his eyebrows furrowing together. "Don't worry-- I won't propose----- YET." He smiled and nudged her chin once more.
