"I think its a great idea, and I support that it will be helping the ACR with the Haiti relief effort.
Bree was a very tragic character. She was scared, confused and pitiful in her own right. I actually almost cried over the fact that the Volturi…"
"Hey there, thanks for the add, and for acknowledging your agreement with my assessment of Edward and Jacob. Its not that I have anything against the character at all. The series would be incapable of being what it is, without him. They just…"
I am fortunate to be married to the most wonderful woman life could have blessed a man with, my absolute partner in every possible sense that the word can convey.
I have been in the U.S. Army since 1990.
I am whole-heartedly, and completely passionate about who/what I believe in.
I am a huge hockey fan.
We took a trip to see many of the Twilight movie sights less than a week before my deployment to Afghanistan in July of 2009.
When Did You First Read Twilight (year) and how many times have you read a Twilight Book (total)?
2008 was the first time I read Twilight. Which naturally led to me reading the other three books in this amazing saga. I have read the Saga three times, for a total of 12 readings of a Twilight book.
Team Edward or Team Jacob? Why?
Team Edward, absolutely. I am not a Vampire and, to the best of my knowledge, I never will be. The very thought of being able to enjoy the passion that I have for my wife, eternally, is amazing. Knowing the type of love that Bella and Edward share is beyond my loftiest expectations of life, and I have been blessed with such a situation, physical eternity aside, of course. The story is about Bella and Edward, from start to finish. Jacob will ultimately wind up happier than most beings could ever imagine being, with Renesmee. I don't understand the Team Jacob movement. He is a foil, a very good one, and an intriguing one to be sure, but Bella could never have the same pure, true happiness that she experiences with Edward. Finding happiness like that, love that powerful, is something that all people should aspire to. Its the only way that makes sense.
Which Character Are You Most Like?
Tough call. I imagine most people automatically go right for Edward, Bella, Jacob, or perhaps even Alice. To be fair, all of the characters are amazing. They are all well written, and I can see myself or qualities that I hope I demonstrate at least, in nearly all of them.
If I have to take an obviously popular one, it would be Edward. I am originally from Chicago, have been raised to respect, honor, and cherish life - which I hope, I do successfully on all counts. I am truly empathetic to other people's situations and feelings, and fiercely protective of the ones that I love. I can truly say that I would die to protect the group that falls under that protection, without question, without hesitation. I have endured much in my life, and have truly, at last, found the perfect partner to share it with. As a result of this, I know happiness that I do not deserve to know, but am truly grateful to continue living with, and I wont' take this for granted.
Many, many could be listed here. I truly have enjoyed the depth of the Harry Potter, and Twilight sagas, and the attention paid to the characters. After all, if you don't care about the characters, how can you enjoy the book? David Sedaris is a truly brilliant author, with an amusing insight on life as a human being. We should all be able to relate on some level.
What is Your Favorite Music
Like the books, I run the full spectrum, but if you listen to my Zune, you will hear a lot of Rock. Alternative, Classic, and Metal are the main varieties. Metallica is an old favorite from my youth. My Chemical Romance, Billy Talent, Avenged Sevenfold, Muse, Shinedown, 30 Seconds to Mars, Papa Roach, Weezer all rate very highly in my book. You will also hear some classical (Clair de Lune IS great), oldies, rap (though not much of the true Gangsta variety), some country, and a smattering of pop.
Favorite Movies, TV Shows, Games:
Lots of Food Network, HGTV, and TLC. House, NCIS, X-Files, Dexter. Movies... Wow.. I enjoy being entertained. The Star Wars Saga, Indiana Jones Movies, Hunt for Red October, Tim Burton movies. I have very rarely seen a movie that I was unable to enjoy. Games.... Heh.. I am an avid X-Box Live gamer. Aside from that, I am purely passionate about the Chicago Blackhawks, and a pretty decent hockey player, in my own right. I also fare pretty well at "trivia" type games like Trivial Pursuit, and Scene It, and have been known to be lost in Sudoku puzzles.
"All my life I've lived by a code, and the code is simple. Honor the gods. Love your woman. And defend your country..."
Eric Bana, as Hector, in Troy
Listening to music, reading, going for hikes with my wife, vacations and weekend trips. Concerts and sporting events. Playing X-Box Live or Paintball with my friends.
