I was born as Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992. I was born in Nashville, Tennesee to Leicia Finley and Billy Ray Cyrus. I have five sibs: Trace and Brandi (From my mom’s previous relationship), Christopher Cody (From my dad’s previous relationship) I have a little brother Braison and a little sister Noah!
My parents named me Destiny Hope Cyrus because they believed I would accompish great things, and I was nicknamed “Smiley” because I always smiled as a baby! But Smiley was later shortened into Miley and that is what I go by now, I did officially change my name to Miley Ray Cyrus on May 1, 2008.
My best friend for almost my whole life is Mandy Jiroux (She is also one of my backup dancers). Hehe my and Manderz started making “The Miley And Mandy Show” on youtube! I have lots of besties nd I am lookin for them on this site! I have TayTay!
I became interseted in acting when I was nine and took acting lessons in Toronto, Canada. The first role I ever played was on my dad’s show “Doc” as a girl named Kylie, but that was only a small role. In 2003 I played Young Ruthie in Tim Burton’s “Big Fish”
When I was tweleve I auditioned for the role of “Lily Truscott” in Hannah Montana. The judges said I was too young thought, however they gave me a call back! Finally I auditioned for the role of “Zoe Stewart” Which was later changed to “Miley Stewart”. The director and producor tried to make me loose my southern accent but then decided it was cute and added it to my show as my background. My dad then auditioned for the role of my dad on my show, and he got the role!
For everyone that is still mad about that one photo shoot…I am very truly sorry, I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about. I did not mean for all those pics to get everywhere. Just like the pics that can now be found on google as the “Miley Scandal” were not really m fault…I did take them but they were only supposed to be seen by one person! And now the entire world can see them!L
