An only child, I grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas. My big break as an actress came when I seven years old and was casted on Barney & Friends, where I met My best friend Demi Lovato. I played Gianna on Barney & Friends for two seasons.
I was discovered by Disney in a worldwide casting search in 2004. Before starring in my own series, I played guest roles in two popular Disney shows, The Suite Life of Zack & Coday and Hannah Montana. Wizards of Waverly Place, in which I plays lead character Alex Russo, premiered on the Disney Channel in October, 2007.
In addition to my acting career, I have also broken into the music industry. I perform the theme song and other music from Wizards of Waverly Place, and I covered the hit Disney song, "Cruella De Vil."
1. I was born in New York, but lived most of My life in Texas.

3. I am close with my mom and step-dad.
